Ultimate Spider Man wasn't too bad by the time it ended and Avengers Assemble is a HELL of a lot better than it was. It really shaped up last season and this season is so far pretty good. Now worth watching.

Glad you feel that way :)
Yeah this Season of Assemble is actually good by just getting rid of the original team and focus on the "B" team which has Carol, Antman,Wasp, panther, Kamala and Vision and they are way more fun to follow and watch

Totally agree. This season of Assemble feels a lot like JLU by just focusing on a few members at a time. One episode you had Carl and Wasp be the main focus, another had Antman and Panther, and then their was an episode that focused of Vision, Kamala, and Task Master.

The show is one of those that's slowly but surely growing stronger as it goes along, with earliest episodes certainly the weakest. In part from settling into and/or toning down the dialogue once it feels it doesn't have to have push stuff like the whole 'science' aspect quite so hard. Stuff like Peter trying to do the math on the fly for how he might be able to launch the Slayer bot - being interrupted and having to start over even - is much better done, while I'll admit, the series' snark is pretty on point. Seriously, his trolling of Black Cat was perfect. That said, the strongest point of the series in all thus far has to be the dynamic between Harry and Peter, which is good since that also seems to be the lynchpin of the series and its wider story arcs.

Funny unlike most version of Normal ge seems to care too much about his soneems to care too much about his son

This version's certainly a lot more proactive in their cultivation, at least. Others sort of just expected Harry to do well and often were disappointed when they didn't (and thus shifted their praise to Peter), where this one will do everything to encourage his son's success, even if not all of it legal.

It's so cool to see Black Cat again after such a long absence with Ultimate.

Just saw the Black Cat episode. Someone's having fun with the casting in the series, aren't they?

I feel like the casting of Peter and Harry being the voices of Mumen Rider and Saitama isn't coincidence

I've only seen two episodes and I already like this better than ultimate.

One big gripe though... what's with the music? It's playing loud dramatic percussion and horns even during quiet dialogue moments. The mixing is almost as bad as a Nolan film.

The guy who voiced Nighthawk is the same guy who was the voice of Batman from Beware the Batman.

Nighthawk was voiced by BtB Batman
Speed Demon was voiced by Young Justice Flash(Wally)
Doctor Spectrum was voiced by Justice League Green Lantern(John Stewart)
Power Princess initially sounded like an impression of Hawkgirl
Hyperion was voiced by a dude that had voiced Ultraman in a DC DTV.

Well we got three episodes today. I hope Disney XD isn't just burning through them to be done with the show cause it's starting to get good.

So I wonder if Eddie is gonna be Venom or are they gonna do Flash again.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. This seems to be Disney's new "thing". For instance, they put up multiple episodes at once for Star vs. The Forces of Evil, Avenger's Assemble, Guardians of the Galaxy, and even the new Duck Tales will have two episodes debuting back to back next week.

Shit they went through 5 new eps of Mech X-4 in one day, I think they trying to compete with binging

I feel like pairing up episodes based on story as well

These 3 clearly acted as a black suit spidey trilogy.

They're doing black suit Spidey/symbiote this early? I'm high-key sick of the Spider-Man symbiote/Venom storyline. But maybe the show will do a good job. Dunno.

pacing is bad. friends are annoying. None of them are redeeming at all. In spectacular, the side characters were at least likeable at times. These guys are just geniuses who only talk about science. I prefer solo act Spidey. Ep 7 was much better for it no?

that being said, it is improving a bit.

Last thing:

He's 5' 10" 97lbs? Wtf
He needs to be rushed to a hospital immediately and be treated for malnutrition.

It's weird that we always see these weird disconnects in terms of heights and weights in fiction (shows, games, etc).
Like, do the developers suddenly forget they themselves are human and what normal human characteristics are?

I mean...97 pounds? Just ask the 5 10 skinny guy at the office how much he weighs if you really don't know lol.

Well it's not either this or that, they could go for humour like Spectacular.

Speaking of which, it's pretty funny that Josh Keaton is voicing Norman Osborn. From voicing Spider-Man in Spectacular to voicing the main villain here. Kind of reminds me of how David Kaye voiced Megatron in Beast Wars but voiced Optimus Prime in Transformers Animated.

This show is growing on me.

I kind of have gotten over how this isn't going to retell things like Spectacular. Every villain being teenager is kind of weird, but reminds me of Iron Man Armored Adventures. Gwen, Miles and Anya being Peter's core group of friends is interesting as a dynamic with Peter actually being the normal person among nerds.

I noticed that Slott is a consultant which makes sense I guess with all the added Horizon Labs stuff and focus on tech.

I mean this show will never be Spectacular but it's doing its own thing. I'm enjoying the humour and Peter's personality. The symbiote arc has been cool.

The Black Cat episode has definitely been the best bringing back Felicia's bad luck powers in animation (cool redesign), coupling it with how crazy Peter's schedule has become since being Spider-Man and his failure of meeting commitments.

I shouldn't have looked up who voices Doc Ock now I can't unhear
Robin from Teen Titans Go

Such a weird three episodes.

Peter gives up the costume in the 2nd episode and then puts it back on again in the 3rd.

Yeah, that was an odd arch for the Black Suit. It felt tacked on at the end of the Sandman episode but Peter realizes the suit is bad for him by the next episode and needs help removing it because he's been bonded too long. Then they hint at Flash bonding with it even though they haven't developed him as a supporting character at all. I think I've seen all the episodes but the Scorpion one, has Flash been mentioned in only one other episode?

But I guess there are 4 more episodes til Venom appears so maybe they will give Flash some screen time. Maybe Flash will date someone in Peter's circle and draw them out of the academy setting.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Miles finally gets his powers in the latest episode. Things are happening at a quick pace.

I'm not crazy about Miles getting powers in the fucking 9th episode of this show... Save it for season 2, jeez. Everything is happening way too fast.
