Fuck Eastern Germany. They had the right idea with that anti-faschistischen-schutzwall.
I feel so embarrassed to come from there today.
Dude, 3 out of 4 Eastern Germans did not vote for right-wing parties. Please stop generalizing and demonizing. I'm from Dresden and the situation is bad enough. So let's not trash all the good people here.

Frauke Petry on ZDF right now. Really a big question whether she'll remain head of AfD given that she's against the right-extremist part of the party.

What happens if a coalition doesn't come together? Are minority governments a thing in Germany?

I theory it is a thing. But:
- Germany never had a minority government for the whole country.
- Only some states in Germany already had a minority government. But they failed quite fast.

Thats why it is pretty safe to say that a minority government will not happent. If they are not able to do a coalition we will have a new election.

As a new resident from a country that still has a ~40% approval rating for the golfer in chief, I can't help but be surprised by the dismay of ~13% for AFD. Especially with higher turnout that seems like a luxury.

Still, im sympathetic.

We take right extremism very serious. My Facebook feed is in total shock.

Keep in mind this is the first time since WWII that a far right party has been elected into the Bundestag at all.

Yes I do get that. It sucks either way :/

Can someone tell me how Aichach-Friedberg voted? Don't have access to a computer at the moment.

It's quite the interesting coalition situation with a government unable to govern and a opposition that couldn't oppose eachother more.
I'd say big coalition gets prob more done than this garbage.

PS can someone link that interactive map again?
