Destiny 2 |OT2| Leviathan Wakes (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

Getting a little frustrated with the drops. There are still a TON of exotics I don't have, and 90% of my exotic engrams/drops for the past week have been repeats.

Milestone drops also only seem to be giving me 300PL pulse rifles and sidearms. If you're not going to give me a piece of gear I actually need, can I please get a hand cannon, auto rifle, fusion rifle, or rocket launcher? Please? I've gotten like 4 Eysteins and a couple of Graviton Lances recently.

I did not miss this feeling from D1.
Yeah if they can make the loot so smart, it should at least be smart enough to not give dupe exotics nearly as much. Especially now with the way infusion works. You get that stupid ass Grenade Launcher or a 5th Borealis and wtf are you supposed to do with it? Ooh 5 shards I didnt need anyway? There were times when it was exciting getting an exotic.

303 Titan and 302 Warlock. Haven't yet done the Raid but would like to run it in the next couple of days. Anybody want to pick me up for a Raid run this evening? 2 - 3 hours from now maybe? PSN: LAARILEY_CA

It'd be amazing if they could make grenade launchers infusable with rocket launchers, á la linear fusions with fusion rifles. At least I'd get some use out of those things.

I've actually gotten so used to exotic engrams being dupes, that when it's not a dupe it's a legitimately pleasing surprise. Maybe that was Bungie's strategy all along.

Normal legendary engrams that appear in your slot can turn into exotics. I've had two back to back turn into them early on. None for awhile though.

Well crap, honestly wish I did not know this wad a thing till I was reading this thread.

Has not happend to me once. ;/

HOLD THE TRIGGER ON THE SCORCH CANNONS

You get more dps from rapid firing them and they respawn constantly in the walker public event. Charging the shots is pointless.

Do they appear anywhere else? I don't think I've seen one elsewhere.

Charges the grenade for extra dps

It's actually less dps, but is more ammo efficient.

I have a Vault of 70 Weapons
I only have 6 left, to infuse up to 300

Kind of crazy that this quickly I have amassed this much arsenal at soft base cap
This is not including the 3 Guardians holding 305 Weapons as slotted weapons they have on them at all times, that's another 48 to the count

350 will only be a small climb I'm guessing, unless Bungie really RNG the RNG and add some time gates, which I'm guessing they won't do, as the keep it cool, keep it casual is the flow of the game

So in the hour and a half I've been in the EDZ, I've found three servitors, all of the "high value target" variety. I need two more for the daily challenge. Are there any regular servitors out there? I've done multiple laps through the EDZ, done several lost sectors and a half dozen public events and can't find any. It's blind luck when I spot one.

Wait it out for those as HVT or go to Firebase Hades wait for Big Servitor Public Event, it's either that or Glimmer Extraction Fallen, so you get to knock out 5 Servitors in one shot
Big Servitor, then a solo baby, then 3 Solo surround it, have a good heavy or burn your super on those 3, activate Heroic+, kill Biggy Servitor, finish in one go

I just waited for that PE to show up on my map
The flag is a dead giveaway to which PTE it's most likely is in area
If in the Circular area to the side, Big Servitor, if on the Road or Woods by the Puddle/Shoreline, Glimmer Extraction

hopefully the B-Team is working on every piece of D2 content from here on out and the A-Team is stuck working on Destiny 3.

The Raid loot system is seriously flawed.

Finally got into the Raid last night for the first time as some personal issues stopped me from being able to until now. I liked it. I like mechanic heavy stuff and this scratches that itch. That said, the loot system is terrible and really detracts from the feeling of progression in the raid.

Played 2 hours, got to the Gauntlet but had to stop for the night and I have NOTHING to show for it besides a bunch of Tokens which are useless until I beat the Raid anyway.

Oh, the A team probably did all of year 1 for D2...or at least all of the heavy lifting.

That sounds worse, cause we know how Crota's End was received

Oh that sword went through Geometry, we'll fix it, eventually... 2 years later...

Bumping your Light Level, you gain +2 levels going to 32!
Isnt that amazing, a whole 2 levels!

Don't worry all mistakes in Destiny and DLC 1 will get alleviated in DLC 2, only we have to wait till March for it!
That parallel roadmap!

LOL! Well, just saying, Im sure the Dec. DLC is already in the can. Spring is probably close.

Trakken, probably has it right...Thats if they do a bigger expansion again. Who knows? We will all gobble it up anyway for the suckers that we are. :D

Most Token let you Purchase gear outright

Price it accordingly, you earn on average w/o Loot from chest roughly 20-25 Tokens per Character per Run

Do:
Helmet - 50 Tokens
Arms - 20
Chest -30
Legs - 20

That's roughly 4+ runs. Can get an piece and save those Tokens.

Same and go for Weapons:

Kinetic - 30
Energy - 30
Power - 40

That you can at least leave a little RNG to roll for a certain slot, so there's at least a Token Sink in place

Most games try to balance this

Our Tokens are literally RNG for RNG on RNG Engram chase
You can't even pick Armor or Weapon

I can wait for the Clusterfuck when Prestige drops
I hope it's the same currency and now both the normal and Prestige Loot are pooled together, I can see wasting 100 tokens to try to earn a prestige piece, oh joy!

It's such a flawed system, especially considering the Raid vendor is locked until you beat the Raid at least once - meaning first time around you feel like you're getting very little in the way of actual rewards.

Disappointing because it's actually my only real complaint about the Raid, I enjoyed everything else so far.

Only thing that gets this game going still is the community aspect
If I didn't have DGAF or others to play this, this would be a month trade in, see you on your last Complete Edition to see what I missed

I mean look how much community comes together to help adjust to whatever Bungie feels not necessary

Broken Vault system, Destiny Item Manager or Ishtar there
DestinyTracker, Destinystatus, Destinychecklist for anything stats or reminder relates
Destiny LFG, r/fireteams, the100.io, discord for faux matchmaking
Now that vendorengram.xyz thing to help capped players report real time of 300 vendor Engrams

Things community tries to benefit as a whole

So how does everyone feel about High Caliber Rounds?

I feel like they should either separate the perk's PvE and PvP functionality ( which is not gonna happen because Bungie ) or just replace it with something else entirely. And maybe cut down the aim assist on Mida in half while they are at it. That weapon is already plenty Exotic with permanent radar and the move speed boost that apparently beats 10 Mobility.

I also think that the prevalence of HCR may be part of why Pulse Rifles are much less viable right now, as PRs rely on landing entire bursts for optimal kills. That becomes much harder when 80% of the field is HCR (Mida / Uriel's / Pleiades) or close range (Antiope / Last Hope)...

My dude, you have 330 hours in the game. That's almost 12 hours a day. I'm not judging, but that's important context here.

This is my first Destiny and I've put in somewhere between 50-75 hours. What is the vault for and why should I have been using it?

The vault is a space in the social spaces where you can store gear and inventory. You can also retrieve emblems and exotics from it.

If you use multiple characters, this is the way you get gear from one character to another.

Bungie provides an API that allows for Vault management via 3rd party clients such as Destiny Item Manager. They allow for seeing all your gear across your characters and perform searches, sorting, etc.

I just want to clarify in case you had the wrong impression; while certainly not generous (someone in my group last night saw only one drop through to the end), you do have a chance of a drop outright at each encounter in addition to the tokens.

Absolutely. Couldn't agree more. I guess perhaps thats why I found year 1 in D1 the most fun. The fuckery that was going on then, the stingy drops, the cheese...really was all a ton of fun.

You cater to the whole spectrum

Casualest of the Casual to the Core to the Hardcore/Mentally Unstable

I just ask to spend my time in the game and have some chases like the first iteration

If no Anti-Farm timer, I would just do that, can't

Collect sets, but thats still RNG within RNG to earn the right piece

I would like it if there something for those that do invest more time others to at least enjoy and not get gates till DLC, which I know I'll be back with a post that says all done, now what?

Just want to keep playing that's all, just nothing enticing there to keep me going like how D1 Year 1 was (not asking for old school grind, but throw a bone that do invest, create small things to chase)

As you can see I like to collect

Also yes I'm that anal that I went out of my way and took out weapons and put them back in

It goes from least use to frequent
Then class type
The Kinetic > Energy of that version
Then Power Level to differentiate that

Yes, I manually do this..

Yeah I know it is possible to get drops but not generous is a bit of an understatement :p

Does someone possibly have that link to a site where people are letting eachother know when vendors on planets have 300 gear rewards?

I saw it much earlier in this topic but I can't find it now/

Woot, you can store colors!?

Yeah, Shaders, Mods, anything, hell Tokens too, if you put away all Token, all those Pulsing Icons on the Tower go away, until you earn 1 Token for corresponding Vendor, then they start pulsing again

Whats the benefict of guided games as a host, outside helping random people who quickly jump away after completing the nightfall
The idea is that clans can use it as a way to find new people to join their clan. It's why you can't be a Guide anymore once your clan has hit the member cap. It's probably not used with that intention by many, but it is clearly what Bungie wants to see.
The NF this weekend is hard as hell. Me and my group came close so many times.
I'd love to run it with you sometime tomorrow if you have the time. I ran it three times already without any issue. Second run we had 10+ minutes left at the boss room. Third run we were playing with a mic-less random from Guided Games and I lacked a proper Power Weapon, but we still finished with 3+ minutes on the clock. The key is to look around for those anomalies.

Jeez man, that seems like a lot of work. I do wish they would give us better sorting options for like, everything, I shouldn't need to manually manage all this loot in the vault or on my character to make sure I don't get rid of the wrong stuff.

Though I barely actually use the in-game vault, I do everything through the item manager these days.

Cool! I'll shoot you a PM if I'm free, usually I am in the afternoon. We were hitting the anomalies but we were losing time during some of the ogre and knight encounters.

I've gotten it down to maybe 5 minutes to move everything around

Not that bad really

Practice makes perfect, only problem arises is mods if I have to many Rares stocked up, but I manage that out by swapping all 3 stacks into Legendary and shrinking those slots again
