Best Buy is holding a midnight launch, Best Buy seems to make the most sense to get the game from if you have GCU, you get 20% off, a coin, and a $10 gift card.

the handheld comment is interesting, since i thought that the focus on the joy-cons would create some trade-offs towards the handheld mode. They didn't comment on some moves being exclusive to motion controls too right?

I ordered it from best buy during the visa checkout promotion earlier this year for $38, add in the $10 and I'm basically getting it for $28, best buy is so good for video games.

I think it was confirmed by Nintendo that the motion controls are optional so I wouldn't expect anything to specifically require them

Good luck getting your coin and $10 gift card, I was told they don't apply retroactively.
We know it supports the Pro-Controller, so there shouldn't be a focus on motion controls.
They say not as many, but not that far behind. That would be ~15 worlds of 50-70 moons each.

the pro controller has motion controls though. For example, when you capture a cheep cheep, the only way to attack is by shaking the controller

Do you have a source for that? I thought every action was doable without motion controls, just certain things like shaking the joycon to make the Bullet Bills go a bit faster and angling your hat throws were limited to motion controls.

I'm pretty sure there are no forced motion controls, just some optional moves that use it. I'm curious about the Cheep Cheep attack that Honorio mentioned, but I'd be pretty surprised if that was only doable with motion controls. Pressing Y usually performs an action when playing as a captured enemy after all.
I guess it's forced if you're a speed runner.
Ooooh curious if it's better than Golf Story. That's been the best so far, 1, 2, Switch included.
