FYI,

If you have a chance everybody should check out the 360 titles that received 4K upgrades.

Fallout 3 and Gears of War 3 look absolutely breathtaking.

Breathtaking.

I cannot give MS enough props for that feature.

Is 1TB enough? Or wait for the 2TB version?

If you want it get it now. Most people are just using an external and ignoring the internal size because it will fill up really quick with 4k textures.

I would say get at least a 4TB external if you do. My 2TB is almost full already and I kinda regret getting one this small.

Yeah, pissed at myself for only getting a 1 TB drive for my original Xbone. It's 7200 RPMs and pretty nice, so I plugged it into my XboXX and everything is working flawlessly, but it's also almost full. 33 gig patch for Forza 7, good lord.

I left my console to download a ton of 4k updates last night, I don't even want to know how much space I have left on the external. Would not be surprised if it started having to install/download stuff to the internal drive.

I was hastily setting this up before heading to work today and noticed no sound? Is there not any audio playing during it's initial setup/downloading firmware? It was plugged into my AVR which my PS4 pro is plugged into and that gets sound.

Are you talking about the Xbox 'chime'? Or just the sound when you go through the menus?

I've got 6 and a 3 and as a day 1 XB1 owner I'm getting a bit nervous.

Lol they are just higher resolution, hardly breathtaking.

Hyoerbole city as usual, even though the tech is dope.

Some old games can look really incredible just by a simple increase of rendering resolution though.

I remember putting DQVIII through PCSX2 at 4K rendering res on PC before and that was really lovely looking.

Just got a new 4k HDR TV and my Xbox One X yesterday. Plugged it in all hyped after downloading Forza 7... and my receiver does not support passing through HDR. :(. I could do some funkiness with sending HDMI direct to the TV and audio back to the receiver but I ended up ordering a new receiver. HDR on Friday, haha.

Madden 18 - I kinda freaked out because the game kinda just hanged when I first booted it up, but once it did...WOW. I am still running on a 1080p screen, but the game looks alot better and all the menus & transitions are so much faster. The game play seems to be more responsive as well. I went back and played on my Xbox One and confirmed the differences. It's nice to see improvement even on just a 1080p screen.

With my Onkyo receiver and the Xbox One set to uncompressed sound, it would often have an issue where basically acts as if it was muted if it doesn't detect an active sound for a couple seconds. So with things like menus on the Xbox One, there wouldn't be any sound unless I moved the cursor around a bunch (which does trigger the sound effect, enough for it to kick in)

PS4 does have that default ambient noise, so maybe that's why it always works there?

If I started downloading a fresh copy of Halo 5 digital on my One X, do I still have to download a 4K patch somewhere or is that included in the base download?

I'd get a new external drive for all these games if the download speed on Xbox Live wasn't so poor. Downloading Halo 5 at the moment at just 82Mb/s so damn slow. I'm on a 400mb service and no problems on other devices!

My controler does not turn on the X unless it's in rest mode. Turning on my TV turns on my smart power strip which powers my X. So when I turn on my TV I can't turn on my X unless I walk all the way to the console and hit the power button.

My OG Bone doesn't have this problem nor my PS4, or 360 or PS3.

Am I missing something?

This may be a deal breaker.

Downloading the trial right now. Can't wait to play it in 4K HDR on my OLED. Madden games are always very photorealistic!

I have a headset that uses a usb wireless adapter, is that what you are talking about? It is a PDP Afterglow AG9

This has been a great console' launch for me. Every game enhanced or not looks and feels new, smooth, clear.

Playing Halo 3, I was very impressed. Halo 5 feels brand new again . I really hope that more people stay away from the negative wave around the X and listen to gamers enjoying the console. Everyone deserves to experience it.

Well, my SteelSeries 840 doesn’t work at all wirelessly with my XOX. It works great with my PS4 Pro. I did some research, and apparently XOX/XBO doesnt offer USB Audio. Which means...that I have go use a chat cable to plug into the controller.
I had the same issue with my OG XBO.

Also, checked some Xbox forums, and apparently there is still no USB audio. Some bullshit.

Just loaded up Sunset Overdrive....damn the colors pop in this game! An enhanced mode with 4K and HDR would be amazing! There is no way this is happening, right? Please tell me I am wrong.

(1080p here) AC: Origins DOES look pretty breathtaking now. Played 8 hours or so before I got my Scorpio, and the difference is pretty incredible. Draw distance, textures, frame rate, sharpness. Very happy with this on X. WW2 runs so much better I had to turn down my sensitivity bc it was TOO fast on X compared to xbone.

Would you say it looks as good as a current gen game( maybe early 8th gen)? I mean obviously Gears 3 was no slouch in its prime but it's been 6 years now.

Doesn't that "smart" power strip have any "always on" ports? I know my mine does.

Got a second Xbox One X, and it sounds the same as my first. The whooshing up and down is super distracting when playing AC Origins in 4K/HDR. :(

Damn that sucks! My Scorpio is quieter than my PS4 and PS4Pro. My 4TB external is louder than my system when AC:Origins is running.

Power-strips in general should be avoided with Xboxes. Xboxes can still be very active in low-power instant-on mode, but the strip could mistake that for a zombie and cut it off abruptly. Add these incidents up, day after day, over a period of time... I'm sure power-strips have claimed a fair number of consoles.

But strips with always-on should be ok. I don't risk it, myself.

It does but I don't want my X always on, that's the point of the smart strip. The X is the only device I have where this is a problem.

Is this going to be hard to find now? I’m thinking of getting one, but I’d imagine with the holidays creeping up, it would be almost impossible to get.

Hope I’m wrong.

My disk drive went crazy, like a 'whoosh' sound, when installing Madden 18 for about the first 25%...

Yeah, that's why I asked. The disc drives on my S and PS4 Pro are loud. The X drive isn't that loud but I did notice between disc and digital games. The system stays quiet, though. If it isn't, there's a problem.
