Yeah, that's why I asked. The disc drives on my S and PS4 Pro are loud. The X drive isn't that loud but I did notice between disc and digital games. The system stays quiet, though. If it isn't, there's a problem.

It's been quiet while playing games *knocks on wood*

Switch wins this gens UI battle. Clean and simple. I’m not a huge fan of the PS4 dash but it’s infinitely more intuitive than Xbox. How in the world does Microsoft fail at something so simple especially with how good the 360’s was?

Having a 1080p dashboard on a 4k console also sucks but I know the story behind it. Still not a fan of the compromise.

There are certain things I like though. The games and apps menu is excellent and I love how you can see the size and install percentage as you install a game from disc.

The dashboard was 4K at one point, but the developers asked for the extra 1GB of ram MS downgraded the dashboard to 1080p and developers memory access went from 8GB to 9GB. Which is more important to you?

Gears of War 4 at 60fps has blown me away it’s like a different game! It even looks sharper (than standard)

60fps is way better than 4k 30fps imho

I understand that launch systems a lot of times can be a little iffy but i'm seeing some of the previously reported issues and it's driving me crazy.

The only bad thing happening with my wife's console is that the controller keeps randomly de-syncing.

On mine though I thought it was perfect until I started updating some of the enhanced xbox one games today.. I can insert the disc and then it just doesnt want to connect to the internet for the network portion of the upgrade.

Like right now i'm working on updating Halo Wars 2 and got hit with a 30gb upgrade. It just sat there for forever with no movement at all so I tried ejecting the disc to re-insert it. The act of ejecting the disc is also turning my machine off! Wtf... I tried like 5 times and it kept doing this so finally I turned the system back on but didn't log into my profile and low and behold it started updating again and this time it didn't shut right back off.

Is anyone else experiencing this specific issue? Very irritating...

I responded in the other board but I will say Halo Wars 2 has never been fine on my OG day 1. Anytime a patch would hit it would redownload the entire game.

Maybe that game is bugged. I've had zero issues updating the other 11 one X enhanced games I own.

Fast does not equal intuitive. At one point I was pressing random buttons to try to get things to work. On top of that, mother of all ads. Like the ads are too much.

pressing random buttons never ends well with electronics

...and ads, I see one

Are you counting the deal/gold info an ad? Ok, I'll give you that. Two is hardly too much. Come on.

What random buttons are you pressing to get whatever things to work? Have you only been using another UI for a while? I have trouble jumping between UIs if I am on one more than the other...

I would definitely say this is a good UI, although I prefer visual UIs as opposed to list style.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
I wanted to see how the first Assassins Creed looked with enhancements, but it doesn't seem like a single video has been posted.

Every time I try to search for it, it just links me to Origins!

Loving the X1X! Really surprised by how good some 360 games look on X. V5 and Bayonetta look awesome on it!

So...um...you do realize that the PlayStation tends to display more than one add on their horizontal ribbon, right? Plus if you dive into your app folder, whole rows are made up of app ads?

To me, putting ads in folders (like what Sony does) is *WAY* worse. It would akin to Microsoft putting ad icons in the middle of your pins list and making them look like all the other pins.

How does enhanced actually works. Where can I download those files to get the better textures for the games I have?

Hello guys! I just came back home with my One X.
After all the setup I tried to run CoD and I get this supposedly weird noise from the fan:
https://youtu.be/DZtzSirTp0o
It only seems to appear under full load, no signs of it while idle. Did I get a faulty unit or should I be cool with these one?
Thank’s for your time guys. :)

Edit: It’s a buzzing sound that comes under load, I think Youtube may have compressed the audio a little bit too much.

Regarding the HDMI input on the X, has anyone tested plugging the PS4 and seeing if the X adds lag like in the original Xbox one?

"The fine folks at Digital Foundry plugged their PlayStation 4 into the Xbox One's HDMI input and — contrary to my fevered speculation — a singularity was not formed. Instead, they got the PS4 video in their Xbox One dashboard. From there they could navigate PlayStation menus, fiddle about with settings, or even launch a game, though lag issues make it a less-than-ideal means of doing so." (link)

Finally have my Scorpio edition (thanks to whichever GAF member it was that mentioned amazon had them back in-stock).

I only have an 80” 1080p so I’m basically here for the super sampling and the hundreds of back compat games that I have but honestly I’ve really just been playing around with the Insects demo changing time of day and flower colors...

I only own 25 of the enhanced games and I’m hoping their full enhancement patches come down soon.

Honestly, its the way it's designed. It just looks so cluttered and disorganized. I feel like a crazy person trying to use this. I've finally figured out where my library is and how to get to the settings and this was all done through experimentation.

When I first got my 360, within a minute I knew how to navigate around it and where everything should logically be. The same is also true for my experiences with the ps3 and ps4. There's a logical flow to things. I could open any of those three systems in a different language and know how to use it. Here, there just no logical flow and the choice of icons are well, just bad. I'm still waiting for Halo 5 to finish installing so I can start playing it.

I still don't know how to find out which titles are Xbox one x enhanced on the store and so I'm doing that via the web. The others seem to be designed with a tree structure in mind while this seems more akin to a graph. All in all, its not a great UI at all.

It looks great! Played around 8 hours on xbone and finally got to play it last night on X, significant difference! Draw-Distance, lighting, textures, shadows, AA.......it’s fantastic.

You know you can press the big X on the controller right? I can't understand how someone could struggle to find the Game Library or Settings from there.
Game library is the first one down..

I'm guessing MS will put out a PR blurb within a week regarding the launch of the Xbox 1X. How many do you reckon they have sold at launch?

I will be adventurous and say over 1 million!

I dislike it too personally - but have done since the Xbox One launched - still prefer the PS4 UI speed and ease as i'm nearly always only interested in gaming, not all the other crud that comes with it

Man, it's great to be playing Halo again. I didn't get a Xbox One, so the last I played was Halo 4 in 2012. Halo 5 looks awesome on da X.

Feels good.

It's unnecessarily complex but I don't know that Sony did it much better from my recent experiences. I've had a PSN subscription for quite awhile so I had a bunch of PS4 games stocked up. I recently got a PS4 and it took me a long time to figure out where the library section and purchased games were.

I envy you. No complaints here. I loved playing Halo 5 when it released but it would be pretty cool to experience it for the first time, again, on the Xbox X.

Enjoy! I personally really enjoyed the campaign in Halo 5 despite all of the hate and hyperbole that gets thrown around towards it on some gaming forums. I loved the general gameplay loop, the increased vertical mobility and squad commands. It looks fantastic on the X too.

Now imagine Scalebound as an XB O X killer app. I still can't believe what happened.

With the power of the One X, I had second hopes for Scalebound with MS possibly taking another crack at it on more powerful hardware. Guess when MS said they wiped their hands clean of this game they meant it.
