I haven't watched it all the way through yet but here's MrMattyPlays review

Video has gone so he must have accidentally posted it early. I'm assuming the link will stay the same when he lists it public again. If not, I'll update the post with the link with the video when it's available again.

A big budget SINGLE PLAYER game and a new IP to boot. Not something I was expecting from EA. Despite it looking kinda cool, it's coming out at a crowded time with not much marketing behind it.
Should've moved to early 2024.
Now if it flops, EA will yet again declare that SP games are dead, until the next Star Wars Jedi game sells gangbusters again.
EA is launching it into BG3, Starfield and Spider-Man 2 launch window. What could possibly happen?

I mean I wonder what other game did EA do this to, perhaps one with giant mechs? Well, let's just call them Titans. 😅

Is this Unreal Engine 5? Is it using all that fancy nanite, lumen and ray tracing features on PS5?

Yeah, i really feel for the teams behind games like Immortals and Atlas Fallen. Probably good titles that gets no love in these times of heavy hitters :messenger_pensive:
Yep. It would make sense to release this past the big games this late summer/early Fall, yet here we are.

Yes, apparently running 720p base resolution using nanite/lumen/vsm and upscaling with fsr2 because tsr was too expensive. Lumen in software mode aswell, hardware mode has slightly better visuals but too heavy once again.

those graphics do not warrant that engine. They look good. Just good. not UE5.

We need better than this.

Looks about as expected.
It looks nice at a glance on a phone but looking at it on a bigger screen the image quality seems very poor and there's a lot of obvious upscaling artifacts. Gives me a similar vibe than some of those low effort remasters of Ps1 games where they clearly just used some basic upscaler on the pre rendered background.

Unless of course the image itself is very compressed and the game looks cleaner running on the actual hardware

Some brief console gameplay. There are no video options (defaults to 60fps mode) and no FOV options. Performance at least looks solid.

Getting hella Hexen/Heretic, Rune, and that old Wheel of Time FPS vibes from this. Will check it out for sure now. Thanks for the vid!

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

So apparently the game is using FSR 2.2 on consoles, and not Unreal's TSR up-sampling like I thought in a different threads (that I can't find).

A bit weird, but the developers comment is taht that it helped save on performance.

I almost want to just buy it on console to check it out. Lack of an FOV slider is a dealbreaker though.

Tech wise it looks great

But man the art is ugly

So generic

Like, look at this thing on his arm

Agree lol, that thing is fugly.

Im gonna give this a shot because I have it with Origin Pro or whatever and the combat does look cool. But I could have gone for a way less gaudy arm caster thing.

For whatever reason I thought this was Xbox only

It looks like a glorified Ghostwire Tokyo to me and its debatable whether that should be considered a good thing or not

I upgraded the PC to a 4070RTX. The game comes out in an hour. Let us see if it kills it.

I have already pre-loaded.

I seem to be the only one excited for this game.

The game is supposed to be able to run on an i7 8700 now. That is the CPU that I have. So, we shall see if it tanks or not.

I am staying up late to try it out. I blame Gina Torres.

Tempted to sign up for EA Play Pro to try this out. Assuming, and hoping, the PC version has an FoV setting because it looks nauseatingly shallow on console.

I had to run on low settings. Still, it looks good. Low is not really low on this game.

The game is bitching about my CPU being too low, but it runs smoothly.

I probably can boost the textures to high.

These settings at the bottom are probably shitting on my 13900k, you can see the benchmark score at the top for CPU/GPU, 4090 is easily handling the game but 13900k isn't?

What resolution are you playing in?
