Stellar Blade Releases on April 26, 2024 | State of Play

😮‍💨🍑🔥🔥🔥 Day fucking one! I’ve been hyped for this game long even before Sony showed it at their own show. Looked amazing today and I loved all the outfits they showed. I’ll be getting the Deluxe Edition for sure for maximum cheeks.

Sorry, this kind of obsession with race is not common on current GAF so your post stuck out like a sore thumb.

For better understanding read user "The 28th Hour" posts in the GTA6 Reveal Thread on the purple place, page 4 onward.

It's not a FFXVI situation of timed exclusivity, though. It's a PS Studios-produced game, so it will take some time to be ported, probably in early 2026 going by other first-party titles.

It's being assisted by Sony Japan!
Do you have a source on this?

The last part? After the Japan Studio ""debacle"", Sony Japan started hiring producers all around East Asia to handle external development as they were expanding those specific operations beyond JP.
Here's an example of what I'm talking about:
<XDEV mission in Japan>
Partner with the best developers in Japan / Asia to create exclusive games for PlayStation.

<PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE>
Collaborate with the best independent game developers in Japan and in Asia to seek out, evaluate, produce and release external products (video games) to the highest possible quality and success,on time and on budget.
XDEV was basically the Patapon, Folklore, Soul Sacrifice, Bloodborne, etc. side of Japan Studio.

But that's just a job listing, no? How do we know they worked on Stellar Blade? I'm not trying to antagonize or anything here, I just never heard of them helping ShiftUp in any development capacity for this game, and I follow it kinda closely.

For me is just the EN VA looks off. The rest of the game is superb.
I've been really happy with Korean VA's lately, in a few games that I play that are developed there. They don't quite have the range of the seasoned Japanese VAs, but I'd say they're more than competent in conveying the characters feelings, and Korean is a pleasant sounding language to my ears. I might play it in KR if the English doesn't do it for me.

If they give me the option to change for Korean VA I'll perfect fine.

Looks fantastic, indeed! The costumes are awesome! :messenger_smiling_hearts: It's good to see a game taking liberties like this nowadays.

Time for sony to ask shift up to create some of their lessons of true diversity work culture presentations to their first party studios. Their 1st party devs need this diversity desperately

Compared to previous trailers her face looks slightly different to me. Maybe the face model changed a little bit or maybe it's just me.

Didn't mean to make it about race. She still looks stunning.

Well, Shift Up CEO said so. I think you need more context, PS Studios doesn't just support random (or all) third-party games and call it a day, it's a whole co-development process leading to the creation of first-party games for Sony to publish. Project Eve started as a Shift Up solo project, yes, but what it's likely is that they asked Sony for help in getting the game out for several reasons (which not necessarily have to be for lack of money or something), and then PS Studios would assist on the title.

Someone surely brought up concerns of sexism to the brass and they were like "oh who gives a shit". I think that would have been harder a few years ago but it's more clear all the time that twitter bullies are not going to hurt business.

I hope they release demo, I really want to see how the combat feels and from trailer we saw parries which huge plus for me.

Was this posted? her bunny suit:messenger_smiling_hearts:

ShiftUp is the ray of light in this world of darkness. Don't know how this made it past Sweet Baby Inc/Sony light beam department and I don't care, it's glorious.

Yeah, I had to do a double take on that bunny outfit since I initially thought she was nude for a second. She looks like she has a shit ton of outfits and I bet they'll be selling a good portion of them (hopefully not all the good ones) as DLC/Shop items for real money. I'm leaning on this game being released in its entirety I hope, but we won't know for sure until folks get their hands on it. Hopefully it's not a Lost Ark situation where they "localize" it and folks don't find out till the last minute.

Not gonna lie, you don't see many games like this anymore getting the spotlight (Nor do most exist at this budget). It's a breath of fresh air, even if we don't know if it'll be a good game or not. You can already see the usual folks on other forums/platforms being disgusted with it and questioning why Sony would allow such content. I was surprised myself when Sony showed this years ago, so hopefully this won't be a one-off. This won't suddenly cause an influx of games like this being the norm and a return to the 90's/Early 2000's character designs, but hopefully it'll show that there is an audience for games like this.

This is how the conversation went:

"Um... all these games with bland characters, designed to not offend people aren't selling very well, are they?"

"Er... no."

"Should we... let Stellar Blade have all the ass and titties... you know... just in case it sells a fuckton?"

"Yes. Yes, we should do that."

That is really pathetic of that site. Its a game and the woman is wearing a cool outfit.why would you ban someone because he/she ( yes there are only two genders in this world) liked the designs or animations.

Some of it has to do with just a general distaste towards the male gaze.

But an awful lot of it has to do with the envy over the female form, and female sexuality. If there's something you really want but can never achieve, it's better to deny its existence.

I will have to take your word for it then. But one thing I know for sure is that ShiftUp is considered a "second party" developer, not first-party as you claim. There was a whole thread about it a few months ago on GAF.

I said first-party games tho, I know Sony considers SU to be a 'second-party developer', but it's all the same to them when it comes to the actual projects, anyway. DS2 (KojiPro) will probably get more marketing than something like Ratchet (Insomniac), as an example.

I'm not seeing it. Sure, the main character looks alright, but none of the other characters or monster designs looked at all impressive to me (that cat-looking thing with a hand for a head that spits out acid? Wut?). The voice acting could use some work, too. Wish they would have shown more combat.

This fucking dictatorship, you cant express your opinion without getting banned in there? What the fucking is point of gaming forum like that?
thats how they do things. there is no two or three sides there. there is no neutrality too. there is only one side. other than that, your are banned. it is the 'illusion' there indicate there is a 'freedom of speech' but the reality is whole forum works with iron claw rules.

outsider come think that general consensus there is based on overall hivemind reception but the reality is, they just banned everyone else.

The saddest thing is all the guys popping up in that thread to say that they are looking forward to the game... but trying desperately to not say too much about the ass queen, in case it gets them banned.

It shouldn't need saying, but being scared to say what you think openly in case you get banned from a video games forum on the internet, is pathetic on a level I can scarcely comprehend.
