Xbox to address multi platform games in spring, says former employee

It's funny to see the complete 180 in the argument about PC not being a 'valid' concurrent platform, as soon as Sony started to release some of their big IPs on PC.

And about Xbox games coming to whatever platform, I don't really care. I buy Xbox because I like their system, and because I like Game Pass. I couldn't care less if other people can enjoy the same games on whichever machine they want.

Maybe with this eventually people will stop nitpicking about some of their 1st party games, that are actually great besides so much harsh criticism just because of console war.

I think they need to clear up alot about whats going on at Xbox and unfortunately its not much of their fault.

90% of the rumors we hear are from Xbox Non-insiders spreading lies for glory and fame, MS themselves evangelized these people and pushed them into the spotlight and now it's biting them when it comes to false narratives.

Think of all the shit we've heard from the jezzy poopoos and the colty boy and speshal nick and every weirdo fame chasing basement dweller. If it wasn't for those idiots and their straight up nonsense lies, Xbox wouldn't need to make a big massive statement to the world. They easily could've just uploaded a trailer on the competing YouTubes and released hi-fi rush a week later.

Unfortunately MS created their own enemy here. There's a reason why Nintendo and Sony aren't so vocal and don't really push the social media crowd as much

I can't speak for Starfield but I know he has wanted their MP games on PS for a long time and Gamepass on PS of which Sony had said no

I have brought that subject up many times over the years here and on a few occasions I guess got reported for console warring for saying it

Well, there were obviously LARGE conditions for both of those to occur, and we don't know what they are.

Xbox Live for Xbox games, for one. No duh Sony said no to that.

GamePass? Well, probably not a 30% cut of revenue.

We don't know the details, but if it was just as simple as Microsoft following the rules that other third parties do, I don't think there'd be any objection from Sony

Even if it was something they were planning, I'm going to assume they would slowly groom their fanbase towards the idea of it, more than just ripping the bandaid off.

It sure looks that way from what I'm seeing, even the hardcore Xbox fans on this site are much more calm about the prospect now then they would have been even a year ago. Look at this thread for proof.

There has definitely been an acceleration in this theme being a part of any PR lately, mixed with what we know about how sales are going, I'm expecting things to change at Xbox.

Yeah I expect a slow change.

Maybe make their games timed exclusives, like 6-12 months on Xbox before they hit PS5, similar to what Sony does for PC.

Well said and exactly my thoughts as well. A year ago, no one would have believed Microsoft would have moved any Xbox game to any other (non-PC) platform. Now they're coming around to "well, it's case by case and not any of their major exclusives" (nevermind how we kept getting told that Hi-Fi Rush was a major exclusive when it shadow dropped).

They're the metaphorical frog in the pot as the water temperature is slowly being increased. Next they'll start releasing more "major" exclusives on other platforms a year or so later and the narrative will be "well they're timed exclusives, so still a win for Xbox".

Is there something at all to adress?

Xbox PR team had 1 full month of silence to salvage some credible propaganda and all they've come up with are those weak seeds from 'ex-workers' and Windows Central (new Xbox rumours). Precisely 1 week before the rumored Nin Direct where SoT and Hi-Fi Rush will become multiplat.

FFS! Xbox! Be frank with your userbase at least for a second. You have a $90bn hole in your pocket and the sheer size of Xbox as a platform won't cover your receipts. Tell that directly, instead of hastily ivented half-truths about monumental strategy shifts in Gaming Division. Maybe your fans would be at least more understanding.

Is this because a lot of Americans are fat and they don’t realise what the human body looks like outside of where they live?

I can walk down the local mall and see many girls looking like her.
It's not just that, an entire generation has been brainwashed into thinking they are the wrong gender and try to change only to find it's impossible to actually look like the body shape of the opposite gender even with thousands of dollars of plastic surgery

Cool, now get Microsoft’s greedy a$$ out of the console space and let another, third, more hungry company in. Not saying any names…but we need someone fresh to develop good exclusive games so the other two don’t get lazy (which they have). Let’s get some fireworks and bitterness among companies shall we?

Five years ago, when Microsoft gave a shit about their gaming division, that’s when we actually got really, really, good exclusives. We need hunger again.

It will be exactly what Phil said. It will be a game by game basis and ones that make sense.

Hi Fi Rush. Sea of thieves. Minecraft. Grounded maybe
Explain case by case basis. So lets say Hi fi rush sells like crazy on Nintendo and PlayStation, do case by case means Phil will tell some studios they cant make money on PlayStation and Nintendo? Please elaborate.

Phil : Hey guys i know Hi-Fi rush just sold 6 million on PlayStation and Nintendo but you guy have to not make moneys, sorry.

Studio not allowed to make money : But Phil why?

Phil : Just because bro. I need to make sure the small base who don't buy games on Xbox consoles dont get mad and complain on Twitter.

Studio not allowed to make money : Hey Mr. Nadella, Phil wont let us make millions of dollars for Microsoft so he could appease the small base that didn't buy games when Xbox had exclusive games.

Nadella : Phil Wtf please explain...?

Phil : Yeah i know we spent 70 billion dollars, i know we have been bleeding money since the end of the 360 generation, i know you almost closed down the Xbox division, i know i know.. I know Hi-Fi Rush sold millions on PlayStation and Nintendo but i have to make sure the small base on Xbox who stuck with us and complains on Twitter that don't buy games are happy.

Nadella : You're fucking fired.

:messenger_hushed: :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy: Some of these comments to Sarah Bond's tweet are straight up insane..

I remember all that talk of MS being great open communicators that engage their fans in this thread:
You forgot to mention herman doesn't know which way the PS5 sits.

Frankly I wouldn't mind open communication but what you refer to as "open communication" is just promotions with fanboys like timdog and PR fluff pieces often accompanied by some lies.

If we had actual open communication we would know what's going on with projects instead of always speculating about what's happening in the background. What have they actually communicated about?

Little did they know they were just getting a thick serving of PR and when their plans aren't exactly great PR they still remain in the background.

I may be the exception, but I do not want to invest in an ecosystem that will port (eventually) its games to PS or Switch. I'd rather invest in an ecosystem that I know will not likely abandon its own hardware (or possibly even its own ecosystem). I love Xbox, but if they are going to port exclusives to PS5, I'd rather just play EVERYTHING on PS5. I have 5TB storage total in my PS5 and the ability to play everything in one place is highly appealing to me. Then there is the whole vibe that I get from Microsoft--it seems like Xbox corporate just does not care about its core fans, or at the very least treats them like the retarded stepchild that they have to smile at and act like they love on occasion. NOPE, Bye Bye Xbox Series X. I think all my money will go to PS and Switch 2 if this turns out to be true. Even if Xbox exclusives get "one year" of exclusivity before they come to PS5, I can wait that year to play your next game.

Not upset. I enjoyed the buildup and entitled posts about the game needing to be on Playstation all the way until the balloon got popped. Some people are gluttons for punishment.
What balloon got popped? Are they not porting Hi-Fi Rush to PS5 now?

That's the 1st Bethesda games they had as exclusives. More will follow as time passes by. Anyone who said that they will need PlayStation was 100% right.

Who gives a shit about Hi-Fi Rush. Obviously they didn't hence the shadowdrop. They're trying to give a low budget/low selling title of theirs a second chance. When the games I listed in my first post get released on Playstation then I'll believe Xbox are leaving the console market. You give me your timeline for when Starfield the game you guys say was a disaster for Microsoft will show up on Playstation.

Is Hi-Fi Rush a Bethesda title? Yes. Case closed.

They spent 5 years of production on that game, which ended up selling duds. Now they need PlayStation and Switch to get the ROI. If Xbox doesn't "give a shit about Hi-Fi Rush" why do they feel the need for porting it to PlayStation?

So the same should apply to Starfield then. Drop your prediction. When is it showing up? Here is mine. They're never bringing that shit to Playstation since it's an evergreen title and entices customers to consider their console.

They’re not just going to say “we’re going third party”. It will come alongside some announcements to placate the Xbox faithful, probably a recommitment to Xbox hardware, hints about next gen etc.
