Xbox to address multi platform games in spring, says former employee

My God...

They genuinely thought this company cared about them and their "loyalty".

Phil and Satya to all Xbox fans right now:

These meltdowns are funny

If any of them actually ever knew Phil they would have picked up on this very thing happening years ago
Can PS get something better?

im better star trek GIF

If they announce anything tomorrow, I hope it will be some big event. Would be cool to have something like Microsoft Gaming Press-conference or somethijng

Such a weird complaint. As if any sensible company is going to base their marketing / public relations strategy on responding to fan questions on Twitter.

Companies in General do not respond to leaks and speculation. Nor should they

I agree, but Phil Spencer has made a point to address things like this in the past, even on twitter. Wasn't that long ago he addressed the data leak saying a lot of things have changed since then. Someone asked him directly if there would be another Xbox on twitter and he said there would. Spencer has made himself available for many interviews in the past which have included a lot of speculation like the things we see here and he is known for being far more candid than other executives. So folks have become accustomed to Phil Spencer speaking about things and as far as all this multiplatform rumblings that have been going on weeks now, he hasn't said a word outside of addressing a statement by Tim Stuart talking about first party "experiences" and Game Pass on other platforms. Spencer shot down the Game Pass reference, but said nothing on first party games.

The port begging for Avowed is going to be seven hells for the mods.
Playstation fans never cared for Obsidian. Its mostly xbox/pc audience that love them. Which is why I was ok with ms buying Obsidian as they surely do need the extra cash because most of their games are unpolished (read: ran out of money) but great games. Imagine if pillars 2 had the budget of baldurs gate 3 especially regarding cinematics, the game would be dragon age big.

I'm so happy I chose to not build my digital library on Xbox, but on Playstation and Steam.

To everyone who did....

Oh My Wow GIF by CBS

3rd party consoles sounds like a fucking disaster.

This looks like it's going to happening in the next few weeks.

Evilore get the servers ready....

Lucky for steamsales im rebuilding my xbox library bit by bit. But yeah, the series x is a gamepass machine until I see a clear direction of what ms is planning for xbox.

Edit: hory shit at the tweets. Marching orders came down we about to reach critical mass.

If that other rumor about MS allowing other hardware companies to build and sell "Xbox" branded machines is true then I want the most expensive one.

Also are these dudes being briefed? And tomorrow the news drops?

And come home the chickens have:

Every time we have one of these threads we have people talking about how less money entering the industry from the consumer side is a good thing. It's not and the chickens will come home to roost eventually.

Thanks for twisting my words.

I was quite clear in my statement:

"less money entering the industry from the consumer side"

Right now the consumer is being subsidised - that's a good thing for those who don't care about ownership or can only afford the monthly subscription as it's priced at the moment. However if overall consumer spend continues trending downwards then money flow issues will arise.

The money that is being given to the publishers/developers to put these games on subscription services doesn't get created out of thin air.

The only way this all works is if the money flowing in to monthly subscriptions increases enough to offset the decreases in all other areas of spending.

See above.

Some people owe me an apology, you know who you are.

I don't expect them though, some of you operate with zero integrity and zero shame.

This is just your opinion and not a fact. Plenty of [redacted] loved games like Fallout New Vegas and the South Park RPGs.
Yep sure speaking from my experience I have known of Obsidian since Kotor 2 on xbox. And then Fallout Vegas on pc. Forgot about the Southpark games but I wonder if the average gamer even knew Obsidian made them since Ubisoft is the publisher.

I remember forcing myself to enjoy The Outer Worlds so I could say I did online.

I'm really confused with these latest developments. Can someone tell me what's going on?

Microsoft wasn't supposed to touch on this until the spring and it was to be a couple of games.

Where's this stuff coming about "meltdowns"? I wouldn't think Starfield would warrant a meltdown.

Unless we're talking about booting up my PlayStation in the near future and seeing Master Chief Collection??

Well, in a nutshell:

Yeah, I actually basically just bought all the games on GamePass that I wanted using Steam sales for no joke under $50. That includes all of the Fallouts, All of Arkanes good games, AOE2 and a few others. Steam is the way, it's better than GamePass in that regard, because I own them.

I bought every Fallout game in the entire franchise for like $12.

Basically...

Pretty soon some of the stuff that used to get debated about will no longer be considered a hot take, trolling or copium.

What a time to be alive......Jesus Christ.
Yeah, 2024 came out swinging.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Just a grown ass man having a full on meltdown because he is about to lose his job which revolves around farming clicks from people who bleed green and would name their first born Xbox if Phil followed them on Twitter
I am confused as to what that even means. Is he alluding that the best versions of Xbox console games will be on Playstation?
