Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die (999 Staff, Vita/3DS) Site Opens w/ Trailer

Are you guys saying the 3DS version looks terrible joking? They're exactly the same! They use the same exact assets. The only difference is the Vita version is larger because of the higher resolution.

Also the 3DS screens are blown up. Why do you think they're the exact same size as the Vita ones despite the resolution differences? Shrink them down and there's no blurriness

Are the Vita and 3DS versions different in terms of puzzles...? Was that ever confirmed?

Because I could think of lots of ways the game could take advantage of the 3DS hardware given how well 999 took advantage of the DS hardware. Vita version has better resolution, and I can import it (if I decide to keep my Vita preorder, that is), so... hmmmmm.

What I was getting at is the fact a prequel getting localized is never a good judge for whether or not a sequel will get localized.

Go probably won't launch until the show does anyway. The earlier entries still coming isn't entirely meaningless though, it's an indicator that the series is being supported.

I believe these are normal resolution 3DS screens, for comparison's sake :)

It looks like the black bars are present in Quark's screenshot. Perhaps they appear for animated scenes?
Re-posting because everyone is talking about the strangely blurry screen vs the bullshot-ish ones with impossible antialiasing, both of which look like mock ups. These are proper framebuffer grabs.

they got gonzo to make their promo

maybe it was just what they could afford ..after all the main point of this is the story ....i would have been way moreconcerned if this was a production IG or a brainbase stuff .

Gonzo seems reasonnable considering the franchise..

EDIT : well just watched the vid above .. and i have to agree this don't look exciting .. ( in term of animation )

I dunno why, but I really like the song in that PV :3

It'll be curious to see the actual thing whenever it comes out :D

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
As expected, the PV looks mediocre. Oh well.

Huh? Production I.G. and Brain's Base aren't perfect by any means, but they're much better studios than Gonzo. Not that any studio would be putting forth their strongest efforts for a promo like this.

Didn't realize there was going to be an anime episode. The PV looks good enough, not the most amazing thing ever but still pretty good. Definitely excited for the game.

Mmm.
That video isn't particularly awesome or anything but it still increased my hype levels like tenfold when I saw those watches.

Good thing I had GAF blocked while working on my paper. If I'd seen that I'd have lost all motivation.

P IG or brainbase aren't cheap .. that was my point ..NO they aren't perfect the raw Tv product they produce is way above whatever gonzo could think of these days .

at least they can correct their mistake for dvd-bluray releases

There's an interview with the director (disguised as Zero) up on the official site now. It's a lot to ask, but can anyone translate? It would take me a long time with my Japanese level, and even then there'd probably be mistakes.

My favorite part of the interview;

He believes there have been better adventure games then 999 made in past years(it:s not particularly unique). However the reason it was successful in the west was because of the Galapagos effect, where Japan went it:s own way with adventures, and they never got exported to America because no publishers thought they would sale.

Other fun facts related to that(from the interview
- Over 70% of visits to the homepage are from overseas
- The game was more successful in the west the in Japan - core gamers gave it poor reviews, In the west everything was fresh and new

My stance;
It:s really quite true, a lot of the stuff that is held up as being amazing and innovate in the western press about 999 was all ready done 11 years ago with the infinity series. Still got to praise Aksys for taking a chance and nailing it though.

I want subtitles :(

Yeah can't understand anything that's going on. Did notice though that the Nonary game has to be at least to a certain degree different, at enough to incorporate three colors of Green, Red and Blue all being the number 3. I wonder what that effect will have on the whole thing. Glad to see at least something moderately different.

Do we know if this game is before or after the first one? Or is that still pretty much up in the air.

Man I was procrastinating for like hours and I somehow missed that? Not fair. I'll give it a watch later and see how much I can pick up.

GO starts with a brand new team but there are so many references and comes of the old trilogy team. So if 2 sells well we can expect that 3 will be released too!

watched the promo subbed .. it's good , but with too many cuts ( those were necessary since that was like a summary ) but the ensemble seem nice..

Not sure if this has already been posted anywhere.

Altogether, Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die has 24 endings, according to Famitsu magazine. The ending changes depending on decisions players make and who lives and who doesn’t.

The scenario lock system locks some routes until Sigma can fulfill certain requirements. When you replay the game Sigma, the protagonist, retains his memories because he (well, the other Sigma) is from a parallel world.

eh... i hope good people die uses the endings in a creative way. returning to the thing 999 did would kinda be expected and kinda boring.

Actually, I think those are perfectly valid. We've seen user-taken screenshots of the Vita version, and it's probably the game with the best IQ on the system (full res, at least 4xAA). Downscale that to the resolution posted (and upscale the 3DS shots to the same) and you get that comparison.

24 sounds like an awful lot of endings; I wonder if they're proper endings or just a couple distinct ones with "and so-and-so died this time around".

Sigma keeping his memories from parallel worlds sounds weird as hell, though.

If anyone's interested and hasn't seen them already, I'd be fine with taking some demo shots and posting them here, if peepz have requests.
