Ghost Town and Darius Burst.. are both really worth spending that "premium"?

Depends on how much you like shmups. I feel Darius is worth it, easily. Looks, sounds, and plays great. But it's not a bullet hell so don't expect something like a Cave shooter. What's Ghost Town?

I did a double take for a second thinking that was a screenshot from the beginning of Machinarium...

Hmm, not sure what to think.

Similar gameplay, but once you played then you can see they're made with different vision in mind. Both are wonderful games.

Beat Sneak Bandit is the game to watch, you guys. So clever, so addictive and so full of Scandinavian charm.

The backing track is the new Pon-Pon-Pata-Pon in terms of getting stuck in your brain.

Seriously, grab it as soon as it hits the App Store next week.

Happiness!!!

Bought End Night and really like it. It's a rough around the edges, but plays well except for two significant issues:

1. It's way too dark. Even with max brightness on my ipad it's hard to see.
2. Too many monsters. I couldn't leave a room because they kept streaming in. Might be okay if they were slower, but they're super fast, and also hard to see.

If these issues are fixed I think it could be great.

Yeah, totally agree with the brightness issue, it makes it fairly impossible to play in the daytime. But yeah, the game itself is really fun. I thought I was going to finish it last night, I had to go out and get 4 samples at the same time, but I got caught out in the open and attacked from all sides with no ammo left. It was a glorious death!

I think it's an ambitious concept that mostly hits the mark, and I'd love to see a sequel (or updates) later down the line to iterate on the ideas present. If the town itself could be randomised too that would be awesome. And I think it could do with more story. Maybe not even cutscenes and dialogue, but that contextyal environmental stuff that Valve and co do so well. There are hints of it already, the rooms with the bibles or booze in them, and I came across a house once that was filled with dozens of feet that was kind of funny/creepy.

Real Racing 2 is 85% off at $2.99 for ipad. Worth it?

If you like sim racing enough to put about 5-10 hours into a pretty solid iOS game, yeah.

Geez, Rebuild has been broken for well over a day now to purchase since it's update/sale. The ol' "BEIN' MODIFIED, GO 'WAY" error. Was able to get past it by gifting it to myself, though. Odd.

Beat Hazard is pretty cool imo. I feel like Infinity Field is still way better as a trippy twin stick shooter but for some reason I just can't put it down. Helps that it actually has some originality in style and concept too and has a simple yet kick-ass presentation.

It feels like there's a lack of progression when I play Beat Hazard. I don't feel like I'm getting better or getting somewhere. Beautiful game though.

Also, wow, Pinball Arcade is definitely a bit of a disappointment. The visuals and physics certainly aren't as good as Zen Pinball, and the boards are pretty expensive. I'll buy Space Shuttle if that's ever available, but it just doesn't have the polish Zen Punball does. Plays a lot like the collection games on the Wii. (which aren't bad by any stretch, just not Pinball FX/Zen Pinball good.)

Sometimes I really think no one knows what they're talking about when it comes to physics. I will be the first to admit I'm no expect, but it felt fine to me. You see people talking up the phyics of one game, then soon enough people saying it sucks. The visuals I'm not worried about, they'll be much, much better on other platforms as we've already seen, and most likely on iOS too, with updates.

There's no shortage of people who find the physics in Zen/FX series awful, and such people that feel they're pinball experts. Then you get people who say the same about The Pinball Arcade, but there's a consensus TPA's better than the physics in the Williams Collections from before (which people loved), but that's still not good enough for other people I suppose.

Then you get people who are more logical, and say those people just want heavier action, and are probably used to arcades where the tables are tilted more so the ball feels heavier, while Farsight is probably using near-mint tables on a more level "factory" setup. I'm pretty sure Farsight records footage of the tables being played and compares each tables timings and performance against what is in what they release, they do strive for perfection.

I guess what it comes down to, is everyone has different taste. But so far, the one thing in common is I haven't seen anyone say they dislike the physics in the old Pro Pinball series from the 90s, Timeshock! and the sort. Strange how all the technologic advances we have, and games from 15 years ago can hold up so well, to the point people think the physics are better in them than what is being done on much more capable hardware today.

This is true and it's one of the main reasons why I prefer Infinity Field... It's just funny that, regardless, I'm still hooked on it.

The only problem I really had with Pinball Arcade (aside from the price of some of the tables) was the visibility of the ball. Maybe it was the level of reflection, but it seems that if it reflects far too much, it's basically like putting some predator-like camouflage over it. Very difficult to see.

May be better on iPad, but on the 4S it's VERY hard to follow.

Still trying to comprehend the hype for this game. The folks over on TA seem to be waiting with the same anticipation and frustration. I watched some "gameplay" footage, and it looks like Mafia Wars (I) with zombies. Having trouble seeing what all the hoo-ha is about with this game.

Crimson Heart is the first KRPG I like.

Decent framerate, good graphics, fairly deep gameplay (for this kind of game anyway), combat that have weight, quite a few skills, etc. Fun stuff.

Unsure! It got nice reviews and went on sale, so I'll give it a shot later today, I'll give any sim type game a shot myself.

Thanks guys for checking out End Night. Thanks also for the great feedback, it's really helpful.

Was actually terrified about the game releasing so took yesterday away from the internet and went snowboarding to avoid reviews : )

Ah man, I was keeping an eye out for this until I realised it's iPad only :( Do you think it'd play well enough on an iPhone-sized screen to warrant a port of any kind?

i do have an iPhone version in the works, but still trying to get some elements working on that screen size, so hopefully have more information soon.

Just saw touch arcade just put up their review, it's 4/5 which is pretty exciting : )

Edit: Also, going to put up some numbers in the indy game development thread if anyone is interested in sales stuff for a low budget release like this

Would get this in a heartbeat but can't stomach the $15 tag. I'm not waiting for $0.99 or anything, but $5-$8 would be fine.

Pretty much - it's $10 on XBLA, where you can use physical controls AND play against other people. Not seeing how this version is somehow worth more than that.

I've been completely addicted to Ninja Fishing the last few days. I had gotten it about a month ago when it was free, and just never really touched it. My son started playing it and wanted me to help him earn more money, and I just got hooked (no pun intended).

These devs have really done a great job about slow-rolling unlockables in the shop, and there are a ton of new fish to always go after. Right now I can auto-drill to like 590 feet (and get about $2200 each run). I'm wondering if I should keep buying the lines and weights or save up for the time machine.

Congrats fella! I kinda felt bad for you yesterday since it was an epic release day on iOS so you got a little overlooked, but I love the game. Just give me some gamma controls and a higher dpad and I'm all set. Determined to finish a runthrough tonight as well. I can do it!

Yeah, Infinity Field has way better movement controls than Beat Hazard...but I'm more hooked *currently* on Beat Hazard. Its the upgrading of the perks..and mainly the boss fights. It has the most interesting boss fights of the dual stick shooters that I've tried. But both of them don't beat PewPew 2..my favorite space themed DSS. ;)

Any plans for an iPhone/Universal version?

I want a game like Beat Hazard that has Spotify support.

THEN I'll be interested in these "create your own experience"-type music games.

Also: Has anyone been able to buy Rebuild? It's stuck in modification hell for me.

Thanks man! I'm looking into both of those issues for the first patch
