I've never played this game, only watched it on live streams and such, but didn't JWong do exactly what everyone was bitching about and lame his way to the finish there?

Nice comeback, and levels or irony

Good shit Chris G, even though i don't like your style. You gave us one hell of a show.
And Justin Wong, man is that guy the best or what!

Hopefully that iron fist team is dead.

There is no way in hell he would have beat chris g without moving up wolverine and swapping in storm.

I'm salty as hell right after this good set just because of Wong/Matrix calling for Morrigan nerfs. Geez.

All you have to do is like, halve the amount of meter she builds during that super.

Because he ran into a terrible match up he's going to drop the team for good? I doubt that.

Yeah, he bodied the entire rest of the tournament with that team, I don't know why he would feel the need to drop it because of one bad matchup.

Yea, but he didn't use the broken Morrgian so it's okay and people hate Chris G more. OBVIOUSLY.

Justin Wong could probably body 90% of this tournament running Joe/Thor/Iron Fist if he wanted

He'd have to find some broken shit with them, first.

Seriously, did you see some of the shit Wong pulled? No, you didn't. It was that broken. I love this game (no lie, no sarcasm).

ChrisG is many things, but a fraud is not one of them.

The guy has got skills, but how many time was he predicted victories in major before? It always ended with him being mindfuck or collapsing (missing top 8 even) . Instead of working on his mental flaws, he try to win with a lame team and he:

a) get exposed still
b) his mental breakdown come back to bite him in the ass

This is what happen when you try to take a shortcut. :p

Don't nerf that Morrigan team, it's a good makeup, and it makes zoning viable in a game where 9/10 teams are rushers/automixup right now.

Has clear deficiencies and bad matchups too as demonstrated. Frontloaded teams are definitely the most unique ones -- and pretty dangerous to play too ie Chris struggling as soon as Morri went kaput.

Pretty solid tech evolution throughout this weekend, hoping they don't change the game so we can really see how far this rabbit hole goes. Barely scratched the surface of Ultimate.

If you have no idea the difference between playing defensively when you have the life lead and what ChrisG was doing, you got a lot to learn about fighting games.

He built his team around completely keeping the other player out.

That is very easy to understand.

What is not easy to understand is why is this a problem at all.

Seriously reading this thread, you guys deserve jean back.

Isn't he also like 18 years old and a relatively new player without the decade of tournament experience Justin has?

Because Iron Fist is almost a confirmed death against Morrigan (he has literally no options to get in or dodge bullet hell), and ChrisG was probably the second best player there. Just because he used Broke Ass Morrigan (tm) doesn't change that fact.

Asked in Floe thread, will ask here, as someone who missed most of it how did Floe do overall this tourney? Anyone know? (Considering theres an entire thread dedicated to him that didn't get to see him play boshy all week :( )

ChrisG's main problem isn't his team, it's himself. He takes losses too seriously and it ends up wrecking him in the end. He's a damn good player, but he needs to not wear his emotions on his sleeves.
