I like this manga more and more. The author is pretty good at developing characters outside of the cliches. Like how the badass genius jerk is actually not a total dick and he's pretty nice overall.

Accel world is pretty cool. I hope theres not too many of these unusual suits, would be kind of odd for so many unique kinds.

On v09 of Nononono, it's really good. I recommend it.

It's nice that Fairy Tail continues his breast tradition.

Nisekoi is utter shit. Don't listen to the fanboys

It's pretty bad but oh well; hopefully it recovers!

Hence why I ask... is there a legal way to read unpublished material, then? I'm looking for a legal way and I actually did think unpublished material being scanlated was absolutely legal... I mean, if no entitiy owns the copyright, how is it illegal? oO

The legal way to read stuff that isn't licensed in your country, is to import it from another country in which it is licensed and published, which means, if no English speaking country publishes Vinland Saga, for example, your only legal way to read it would be to import it from Japan, or from Italy, or from France, or from another country in which it is licensed, provided you're able to read one of those other languages. Any other way is illegal, even if no entity licensed the work in your country.

Sure if you think Sephiroth is "cool" then yeah it would be the "coolest one"

Fairy Tail

This entire manga is pretty much about Lucy having tits and being sexy, isn't it?

Well the manga is about magic and stuff you expect it to be full of RPG stuff like that .
Personally i like Erza magic but then again i am also a huge RPG fan so that could be part of it.

It does have a main story about dragons but you don't see much of it but that not really a problem since allot of manga like that .

So, tell me something... hypothetically... I own 30 something volumes of Berserk... would it be legal for me to download scanlations of those same volumes I own, or are scanlations just flatout illegal no matter what?

Fairy Tail

Train arc (1-21) finished

Pros:
  • Dat Lucy
  • It's still better than Bleach and Naruto: Shitpudding
Cons:
  • Everything else

Seriously this manga is just straight up meh right now...
  • Character design can range from meh to horrid.
  • Fights happen in the most random of shots that don't really flow very well panel-to-panel.
  • The entire train sequence was one of the most anti-climatic things I've ever seen in a shonen series, and then we got another anti-climatic scene with the random demon thing.
  • * The entire suicide writer backstory didn't make any logical sense whatsoever.
  • The villains have goals that make no sense nor should be reasons to be villainous.
  • Too much paneling that focuses on Lucy's tits and ass. Yes, we get it, Lucy is HAWT. Move on.
  • I can only assume that Grey and Natsu being shirtless all the time is to appeal to yaoi fans, so I'm gonna list it here as a con.
Just straight up shallow, uncreative, and lacking all together in action and story.

* To specify on this point, I think this entire sequence was completely unrealistic. For example it doesn't take someone three years straight to write a book if one was jailed for it. At most, all it'd take is two weeks, maybe, cause you're spending all your time in a cell writing a book. This whole sequence is just completely off the wall especially when he comes back to cut off his arm and commit suicide afterwards. It's just...why? Doesn't make sense.

Fairy Tail is straight up the most unashamedly cliched shounen manga right now--quite possibly also in the existence of shounen manga history.

But maybe that is the reason of its (perplexing for me) success. That, and the fact Mashima always throws boobs and panties in like every chapter.

DETECTIVE CONAN

This manga just keeps on going.......................... going......................................going............................................and going................................................................

Does its staff like, held a meeting like once a day to think up ridiculous situations/conventions for Conan to solve? Lots of the cases are so.................. imaginative.

Really you can write a book if your in jail for 2 weeks that has to tell two stories .
I mean i know FT has it problems but that is just nitpicking for the sake of it .

Fuck i am defending FT guess i bored .

That's barely a problem. The problem is that aside from that, it really has nothing. No well-paneled action scenes, no good story, nothing interesting going on...at least, from what I've read. Instead it's all replaced by titties and Natsu kicking ass without any real effort.

That isn't nitpicking, the problem is that FT tries to depict this as a "realistic" situation but falls completely flat on it's face. It's the same thing as when Bleach tries to be realistic by depicting Orihime's character in Hueco Mundo.

A con against the best and strongest characters in the manga, and Natsu who uses the most breathtaking attacks, and Gray user of the best magic and best character design in the series (though you ought to get to the next arc), yet a Pro is Lucy?! Utterly unbelievable, I cant even. Did you read Fairy Tail correctly or something? This doesnt make sense. Lucy is annoying and just like in the way, and nowhere on my list for good looking characters in the series.

Are you my antithesis or something, you always, without fail

DTL is here hopefully this is fun .
Truth is if you don't like FT after the Guild vs Guild or maybe Laxus arc your not going to like it at all.
Still the anime has some of the best OST's i have ever listen to .

So THAT'S where this image comes from!

Lucy so fucking moe and funny. Best character in the manga.

Just think of how much better Fairy Tail would be if the only character in the manga was Lucy. Let's do some Garfield without Garfield shit, only with Fairy Tail. No Natsu, no Grey, maybe Erza.

To Love-Ru vol 2-3

Bestest manga ever. Lovable characters, funny, cute art, barely any dialogues worth reading and Lala+Haruna hnngghh Chapter 24 is best chapter ever

Now to let's get to the serious part. Why does a student who take pictures of naked chicks get only suspended from school for 2 weeks? Or a principal who peeks on girls in a public bath gets away with it? I'm very worried about Japan's lax laws on these issues. They should seriously do something about it for the sake of the children.

I stopped reading Fairy Tail in the arc where Gerard came back and that loll got introduced. And one of the villains was some dude who ran really fast, I think?

I've felt no urge to go back.

I think he provides more entertainment than Lucy does, at least gets along way better with Natsu, etc. At least is also way more useful.

Plus the "funny" aspect of Lucy just comes from other more compelling characters.

Thats like Fairy Tail without the Fairy Tail-the best parts.

It's weird, though. Half the cases are pretty unimaginative and basic and then all the language trick ones make me sad at my inability to moonrune effectively. Then again, I used to read a lot of detective fiction :x

A good amount of them are pretty good. Notably any of the longer cases. And then the few, "Seriously? Fuck you man, who the hell thinks up that stuff?" cases.

Lucy isn't good character design, she's just hot and provides solid comedic relief that doesn't involve Happy being cute. Mashima needs to start writing hentai manga. The story quality would be the same, but now with sex and nudity.

Yeah if Lucy were the only one to take on that evil mage guild, maybe the arc would've involved doing something other than Natsu kicking ass and ending the entire arc too soon. We wouldn't want that to happen!

This describes basically every early arc of Fairy Tail. Have fun.

The best cases are the classical closed room murders in castles, palaces, mansions, and so on. Cases with just the kids are dumb and stupid. Also the moonrunes seem very lazy to me. Maybe they take a lot of effort in Japanese but it's like a cop-out way to make a case complicated.

The longer stuff with the BO are pretty good since they are always epic and lots of shit happen.

Fortunately every arc doesnt end that way as Mashima consistently throws us for loops and surprises constantly keeping us on our toes and at the edge of our seats in anticipation. One of the things I like about Fairy Tail is the pacing, every arc feels just long enough to be quite pleasing and refreshing.

Closed rooms are always fun to solve. Moonrune puzzles I just can't appreciate since I can't solve them :( Some wordplay puzzles are still good, though, so I'm not entirely writing off all of them as being not complex.

Anybody reading Kindaichi? Considering it got a live action version I guess it's a pretty a successful manga?

As an overall series, despite its tendency to stretch things to incredible, incredible length, Conan is a superior manga to Kindaichi but I personally find Kindaichi as a more likeable hero than Shinichi.

Some of the featured cases there were so out of this world, though. And a great number of them were surprisingly gory.

Coelaclanth: 1-8[end]

This manga was so silly, I actually question why the hell I just read it. The love triangle, it's as typical as you'd expect of the genre's trappings, no real variation or even the slightest of aversions, no; it goes head-first into trope-ville--Broody man-beast vs the silly guy destined to lose. The thriller bits, while ultimately empty, did add to the procession of the plot, a lot actually, but those monologues of the main girl, they were almost kind of ironic. She would voice these sudo-philosophical sayings, but with a quick bit of thought any reader would be able to gauge that she was spouting simple sophisms and rationalizing the silliest shit ever. Ex: "Why isn't it okay for me to love someone's who's been dirtied?" Uhhhhh, because you met him just the last night in a telephone booth, and already know he's a murderer, you silly woman. The art was good, but nothing unusual of the genre. Would not recommend.

Stars 22

Why so fast paced, though still pretty good. Fortunately that assure Maho gets a seat, but we dont have a third person who received a message.

I hope good reviews of the volumes means its going to continue being serialized...

Read through the currently translated chapters of Magi today, was not impressed. The thing that really turned me off was how inactive Aladdin was as a main character, it's basically like Alibaba is the actual lead.
Hopefully now that he lost Ugo he'll actually start kicking ass on his own and stop acting as a prop for Alibaba.

It reminds me of the early chapters of Negima when Negi relied on slow spell casting and magical tools, and had to have partners to fight his battles for him until he said "fuck this shit" and got proactive, went and learned martial arts and became the biggest badass on the block (read: when it became cool).

Hey now I just think Lucy is cute...seems DTL thinks Lucy isn't, though, so we're still opposites!

While I actually like the other characters (I think Natsu is pretty cool myself), Lucy is indeed fucking amazing and one of the best characters.

Addicted to Curry (nearly caught up)

I am addicted to the recipes. Goddamn it's like they swallow me. I can't even finish a chapter in half an hour if there's a recipe.

And I'll never make any of them. The fuck is turmeric powder? Sounds like a disease.

Mmm, yes...

Kindaichi is an okay manga, and it's finished IIRC, so that's a plus point against Conan, hahah. He is a likeable protagonist.

But stay away from Q.E.D., from the same creator/artist. In my opinion this one is just rubbish/boring.

In any event, the Liar Game. For a "realistic" manga, I find it highly amusing that such an organization/game can exist in the "real world." I mean, what the hell.... It's a good manga, though.

Darkness ch3

There's a scene of kneeling down in front of penis in the bath.

There's a scene of kissing the kneck.

These two were NOT, I repeat, NOT supposed to turn into a blowjob flashback.

how?

Given how she responds to what Negi says, It would be pretty damn surprising at this point for it to be an Asuna ending. Unless of course Ken is King Troll like Dresden said and he was lying because he's too embarrassed to tell her (because he'd tell her in the final chapter when it's all epic and stuff).
What, the last two chapters don't show Akamatsu the troll in fine form? I kind of think they do, and I would't be surprised at all if that plot twist happens. I mean, they are the main characters, is some other girl really going to win?

Yandere Kanojo 36.1 & 37

Seriously, this is the best 4-koma comic I've ever read. I love it. Someone bring it to the west and let me buy it in physical form please.

...although the mangaka is pretty much just doing "Every background character has a story to tell!" now, which is okay I guess. They're all pretty adorable and heartwarming, so...
I don't know if it's the best 4koma ever, but it is a pretty good one, yes. It's definitely usually funny.

I don't really know, but ever since I remember in most European forums I use there's no discussing the subject when it's being published, but when there's no publisher we just blab away. Granted, none of them are nearly as much of a bif deal as GAF is, though.
All of the major first world nations have signed agreements to respect each other's copyright laws, actually. Enforcement (or threats of enforcement to get people to remove content) in other nations of things not actually sold in those countries may be infrequent, but do happen sometimes. It's not an issue of US law exclusively.

So, tell me something... hypothetically... I own 30 something volumes of Berserk... would it be legal for me to download scanlations of those same volumes I own, or are scanlations just flatout illegal no matter what?
If you own a legal copy too, that'd be like downloading a rom of a game you own a cart copy of, I'd think -- a grey area, pretty much.

Natsu's very generic, but I don't dislike him, really... I do find it annoying how he always gets the final fights (after the early part of the series), and he is a very generic shonen protagonist, but he's not as annoying as some of them. Oh, it was kind of different that he actually starts powerful, instead of weak like shonen protagonists usually do, but apart from that he's generic.

As for Grey, he's bland, but his backstory's decent. I find him more just somewhat uninteresting than anything, but he's not actively bad.
