I am interested in wheelchair girl and catgirl. They seem to be good arguments for suffering through it.
Please correct me by all means if I'm being misled.

No, the OAV is this wonderful exercise in friendship while the TV series is a harsh lesson in crazy.

Ultimately, both the OVA and the series are about
extreme jealousy and possessiveness
. The series just happens to be several hundred times more batshit insane in how it deals with the subject matter than the OVA.

Catgirl always has cat ears, her hacking dock is lol.

I could say do it for hnngazawa, but she doesn't show up enough in the 2nd half.

No, the OVA is actually good.

No, the closest thing is green girl getting jealous because Kuroi goes to basketball, but that's about it.

Awww, but I'm quite hooked on watching characters suffer and have breakdowns over jealousy and friendship!
I was hoping after the TV series ends, the OAV could fill the void for me. Guess not.
I'll still check it though.

Kill Me Baby - 11

I've got to give credit where credit was due, I chuckled somewhere in this episode, funny thing is I can't remember what the skit was, but the fact doesn't change that I chuckled.

Agiri being the only reason I watch this unfunny cack.

I'm glad I watched this. The art, animation and battle choreography was a treat to watch. Had to suspend myself a bit for
dat sword toss
and the only notable music was the main theme (which I swore I've heard before), but had a good time with the film.
I only first heard of it here, so thanks for the indirect recommendation, people that liked it.

Stupid questions, anime edition: my friend at work is contemplating watching Macross, however, she would like to know why singing hurts aliens. Wikipedia is not much help here.

Deculture!

It resonates feelings in their cold icy hearts they didn't know they had, feeling of love and caring that are otherwise foreign to them. It's like using Confusion in a pokemon battle. Why does it work? How exactly does it work? Nobody knows, it just works.

Knight in the area 11

Meh. I don't get what the female doctor at the hospital is playing at. Since the first time she appeared, it's like she wants
the "spirit"/feelings/whatever of the older brother to manifest itself or something.
Holy fuck, that's STILL a plot thread?

Can someone explain to me why there is a show called "Knight in the Area" in the first place? What the fuck is it even supposed to mean?
I assume it's supposed to be romantic. Besides, naming sports shows has got to suck because you have to somehow evoke the sport while trying to come up with something people would want to at least stop to think about. Maybe they could have called it "Bicycle Kick". :p

since you asked!

Now that I have finished the show, I partially agree with your position, though I still like it better than you do.

Shallow vapid leads (at least Romeo & Juliet had the excuse of being idiot teenagers before they took 2 seconds to fall head over heels in lust - I mean that's fine for them but I can't pretend it makes for interesting character setup/growth),

It's true that there's no reasoning for Toshihiko and Yuka falling in love besides "love at first sight", but that fits with the show's view of love as an irrational, or subrational, carnal desire. It's not the only narrative to think of it as little different than lust. That's not a view that I personally hold, or my favorite view to see portrayed, but I'm not going to dock a show for that philosophical difference alone.

takes an interesting/unusual premise (cannibalism) and goes in a trite overplayed direction exploring the potential avenues in only the most obvious and superficial ways,

Perhaps it's not the most original direction to take the premise in, but I thought it did a good job of using cannibalism as a symbol for the inner beast in humanity, both with respect to sexual desire and to hatred for others.

horrible mess of an ending

Agreed. The story was relatively grounded up to a certain point, then it became more and more unhinged until it went completely nuts in the last two episodes.

with a completely unconvincing asspull villain - the moment where you went "woah, what the hell?" made me just roll my eyes because it was such a lame & puerile attempt at shocking the audience & establishing an intimidating antagonist without any real effort on the part of the creators.

Episode 10 did a good job of setting up the villain and giving him palpable menace in clever ways, thanks to strong direction from Kenji Nakamura. Afterwards he became more melodramatic and finally laughable.

Oh, and it's really ugly, if admittedly possessing an intentional and disciplined sort of unpleasant aesthetic that I might be able to admire if I felt the other aspects of it gelled.

Kemonozume's overall aesthetic is deliberately rough and loose, with lots of room according to individual animators to take it in different directions. I quite liked the visual style of certain episodes and didn't appreciate the style of others. I can certainly see why someone would desire a more unified and polished art direction.

I don't really remember the music outside of the annoying OP song.

This is one area where I very much disagree. I really like the OP song, as well as the visuals, and the cool jazz style of the soundtrack enhanced the atmosphere, especially in the earlier episodes.

Remember, KoikeLupin CM is going to debut todaymorrow! Hopefully they upload it soonish to the official site.
If NTV first uploads it to their nittele's YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/nittele), at least I expect that they make available immediately its access to every country, as they changed their minds with the restrictions (lifted shortly after its upload) on the latest and second Ōkami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki promotional video released.

Probably nothing to do with it. In Mexico we called the soccer field the area and it was common to say "out of bounds" as "out of the area" (Fuera del área)
Similarly, it is commonly used 'área de meta' (as penalty area) in the 'argot', so what I associate with a name like The Knight in the Area is the real fighter typically explained as 'delantero centro rematador' (namely a pure and opportunist striker) that in attacks dominates said penalty area of the opposite team, being a specially dangerous player to watch out on it. Feared by its rivals in a kind of romantic way, as firehawk12 says.

I haven't read that graphic novel or seen the series, so I have no idea if what I said represents in any way the meaning of its title, sorry for the intrusion.

Which ruined their respective industries more: achievement points or K-On?

K-On PSP port to PS3 will have trophies. Aren't you going to import it?

Whoops. Guess it doesn't. Well there goes my day 1 import. Sony goofed up bad by not requiring trophies for PSP remasters :(

WHY?!?!?!

She watched the scene from DYRL and "they looked pretty pained"

It's just a caricatured version of culture shock. The culture itself and the feelings it ignites are so foreign to them they can't quite wrap their heads around it.
The Zentradi were manufactured to only ever know war and to fight on behalf of the Protoculture. Once they were left to their own devices, they retained the strict militaristic lifestyle where genders were segregated while maintaining their orders to not interfere with a planet/civilization with any sort of culture. So when they get a healthy does of Earth's culture and get past this initial shock, they either accept and adapt (Britai's group) or lash out to eliminate it (Boddole Zer's group).

Fuck, that was fantastic. The last fight was some of the most stunning animation my eyes have witnessed.

I forgive you BONES, for bringing DtB II in to this world. We can finally move on from this nightmare.

Ando x BONES produce wonderful things.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I don't remember Yu
trying to put Namatame in the TV
in the game, and I didn't like it.
When he was staring completely stonefaced and motionless in the hospital room, I thought he was shutting everything out so that he could hyper-focus on the case, leading to the realization that things didn't add up. What actually happened felt really awkward and unnecessary.

That scene is in the game. If you
throw him in the TV, the fog covers Inaba, and you get the bad end. The cast leaves the hospital, Nanako stays dead, and it fast forwards to March/April (I don't remember which), when Yu leaves the town by train.

How do you find these videos.
Magic.
Maybe he's in it!

Shhhhhhh- Not this one though. I have been in others.
The real question is why.
Because they are for the advancement of humanity.

Mouretsu Pirates 09:

I'm really hoping that the
golden ghost ship
doesn't turn into a MacGuffin. Even if the pacing is still on the slow side, this is a show that probably works better as story arcs. At least the
battle with the Serenity forces is over
. The action scenes lose their edge when the technobabble drowns out the tactics, and we were kind of heading in that direction. I'm still not liking the presence of
the loli oujosama
, but she doesn't appear to be the cliched bossy overbearing type so it's more tolerable.

Chiaki's curtsy
was the absolute best thing in the episode.

Mouretsu Pirates 10:

WHOAAAAAAA
PIRATE CAPTAIN CHIAKI
IS THE GREATEST. Why couldn't it be like this every episode?

Well, one thing's certain now, and that would be that
something is rotten in the state of Serenity
, not the least of which appears to be
that Serenity nobility have some kind of dark genetic secret
. Based on the PV,
we'll finally get some answers as to the nature of this intra-kingdom conflict
.

Yeah, I just saw Sailing 11 and
there was some mad Star Trek space navigation mojo going on (ie the best Trek Episodes had veiled nautical tropes)! Poor Serenity Princesses, why can't finding old relics be good for everyone in the kingdom. I doubt the younger one would actually want to sabotage a family relic like that
.

Most enjoyable show this season. Easily.

I am glad this show has a following on AnimeGaf.

Well for one thing, there's not much else worth following, but also Space Pirates has enough hnnnng and action and technical wizardry in it to appeal to a wide variety of fans.

I don't know why you mentioned Zelda being moe in SS but you're totally correct.

I boycotted Nintendo home consoles for 6 years, lasted 5 months from when Zelda SS released. It was a good fight me. :(

Morita-san Special Silence - 01

Why did my 3 minutes of hnngazawa get replaced by something like Recorder to Randsell WHY!?

Waaaah?

I decided to watch it today based on previous mentiones on here as well :lol

The main theme also sounded similar to me, was thinking it sounded similar to the theme in Princess Mononoke.

Heh, meat bowl conquered.
Well, I gotta say, I thought the anime did pretty well handling this part of the game. They made it slightly less cringed worthy compared to the game, and hell they even did a flashback instead of just talking about it. I did roll my eyes at seeing how long the calendar had to roll back.
I did more eyes rolling at how random Empress was given.

Moretsu Pirates 11

The space parts have been the best parts to the anime so far. Visuals as well as the intense sound kept me on the edge of my seat for the large duration that it took place. Kane is a great sternsman, and pretty epic with the
backing in to dock to the Serendipity
, and San Daime too, cool character. Marika is still a great main who has had phenomenal development, possibly one of the top female protagonists.
