It's the only one I've really played, so it's not hard to go back to. As such, I have no idea how it compares to most stuff before or after it. For the price it is, I'd give it a try.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I'm thinking about getting FFVI or FFIX. I didn't mind FFVI's PSX performance though.

My only problem with FFIX is that I'm almost lacking HDD space and I'm not sure if I'd like to trudge 60+ hours in a game that I've completed thrice already (whereas FFVI, I only completed it once).

I will end up getting tactics again even though I've disliked it every time I've played it. I want 7,8,9 and 6 just to make my vita a ff beast. I already on complete collection on umd but never got to interlude or after years

I was gonna wait for FF 6/7 remakes before I gave them a spin... but fuck it. 14 bucks is nothing.

Thinking about getting FF9 too... but I always hear about how slow the battle system is. Kind of scared to buy...

I'd pick up VI, VII, and IX for sure...

...wait a minute.

I don't have 300 hours to finish those. I mean I do... but I'd rather not.

Well, to get everything in IX, you have to rush like crazy through it, so that would definitely cut down on the time...

Here's an example, I think it's a good representative though it's the original PSX version (I think...as opposed to the PSN version)

They try really hard to hide it with the fade ins and outs
The loading is really noticeable there. Before entering battle, after entering battle, entering the menu and leaving the menu. Need to get the moogle charm.

With FFVII, is there noticeable localization flaws? Friends of mine who bought it when it originally came out saw japanese text. Like they just rushed it to pass certification. Can anyone confirm this?

I own all those games except for Dissidia and FFV. With the rental service with FFV. I'm definitely gonna play and beat it.

Hey Red Scarlet. I haven't seen you around in a LONG TIME!

Just started FFVI. I hate that the screen doesn't fill my HDTV. Black bars everywhere... uggggh! Changing the formatting on my Plasma from FULL does not help at all either, just fucks up the quality.

The music is really good so far and the battle system is straight. I can definitely see my self playing this game for long stretches of time. (which is why the black bars really concern me...)

Looks like it's finally time to grab a digital version of Origins. It has always been the definitive version of FFI and FFII in my eyes.

The only one of these I'll likely buy is FF IV Complete Collection. Even though it'd be nice to have them on my HDD, it's hard to justify buying all the others I already own on disc. Damn tempting prices, though. Especially since I have a Plus subs.

industrian

will gently cradle you as time slowly ticks away.
I own pretty much all of them on disc... but shit, this is tempting. Sony need to get PSX compatibility on the Vita ASAP.

Someone was asking how FF IV looked on Vita. Finally found a video of someone playing the Japanese version.

At least gives you an idea what it looks like. Very sharp.

edit: The wavy lines on the screen are from the capture. You won't see them when you're playing.

Sold.

i have a plasma and it wasn't a problem for me.

what exactly do you expect them to do with a 4:3 game?
umm..I don't expect anyone to do anything. It's just one of the grievances I have with it so far. It's a pretty valid grievance too if IR scares the shit out of you, like it does me.
You can turn up the speed, makes it way better. Don't understand why people don't do this.
eh I decided to buy it anyway. I have way too many gaming friends that sing about. So why not?

I'm gonna get FF8 and give it another chance. Someone please give me a quick run down on the fastest way to break the game.

Set Shiva to learn Card, then use it on enemies and refine.

As soon as you can talk to Cid go use the Lamp, kill Diablo and set to Enc-Half, learn it then set it to Enc-Non and learn that.

Set En-Non as ablity, only fight boss fights for the rest of the game (unless you do Deep Sea) at very low level, spam Renzo and win game.

Go to Cactuar Island to get massive amounts of AP for crazy support ablities to make the game even easier and not have to level up.

I wish I could just buy FFIV The After Years by itself. Played too many versions of FFIV already. I'm holding out for an iOS or iPad version :p

And SE will charge that version like 16 bucks.

I'd hope it would be an updated version of the ds remake. Their ff3 iOS port was pretty impressive.

And this thread makes me sad. Do none of ya own psps? That can play these ps1 games! It's like time got distorted here or something.

I own a PSP-1000, and I could never go back to that screen after using my Vita.

So has anyone tried the PSN version of FF VI? Are the load times present in the DD version too, at least to that extent? Or is it just when it's on a disc and it's fixed/improved when it's DD, like most titles?

I really wish we knew when PSOne game were gonna be playable on the Vita...I don't have a PS3 atm, and I only got my Vita. I would like to try replaying FF6 on my Vita.

Is FFT:WOTL worth getting on the Vita? I heard there are slowdowns.

There are slowdowns on the PSP as well, it's the game engine itself and it only present in attack spell animations. The improved translation makes it worth it and the slowdown didn't bother me in the slightest.

There's a fix for the WotL slowdown if you have a cfw psp. Sadly the Vita has to run the lousy coding that S-E left in that made the game unbearably slow for many fans.
