You know, some of the people complaining about Korra no Densetsu have also made posts about a show named Mahoutsukai.

I'm trying to work out what this is. "Magicians"? "Magic Users"? I'm being dense -_-

I used to twitch a bit when Regulus used to post about My Little Pony, but only because he used the wrong particle for "friendship is magic" - it should be "Yuujou WA Mahou", not "Yuujou NO Mahou". Mmm, pedantry.
probably should have a "desu" on the end too if we're being formal about it?

The Light of El Cantare
Did I post this all ready? Can't remember so I'll post it again. I'm content with the ending, it closed enough story threads without opening a whole new can of worms. Definitely better than the open ending for the first InuYasha series. "Yes, we will defeat Naraku!" *Inuyasha & Co run off in to the sunset* -END-

Ahahaha, terrible memories of the Inuyasha finale when I watched it years ago.

"Okay, 22 minutes to Naraku being defeated. Don't know how it's going to happen, but it's got to be something spectacular."

"So they've all been swallowed by a giant youkai and have to escape. It's okay, Inuyasha and Kagome are reaffirming their love for each other. That's very finale-like. And we still have 15 minutes left. Man, Naraku dying is going to come hard and fast."

"They escaped from the youkai! But.......didn't that take just about the whole episode? And I'm not seeing Naraku. Something feels off..."

"Well yeah you're going to defeat Naraku. Now go and-WHATTHEFUCKIT'SOVER?'"

I had actually been marathoning Inuyasha Kanketsuhen for the past week or so and the Bleach finale happened to air the day that I reached the finale there. It was a bizarre feeling to see two of my favorite shounens from my teenage years end in the same night. I'll comment more on the Bleach finale when I have some more thoughts together, but even if there was never going to be another episode (and I do believe it'll be back for the final arc at some point) I found it to be an immensely satisfying finish to the series. Tears were shed, and not ironic AnoHana tears.

Tomodachi wa Mahou
Clannad AS is one of the best modern anime series made. I am tired of the haters in here acting like their opinion is somehow representative of the majority. It's also just wrong.

Looking forward to Hyouka. Don't think it'll be very good though.

Anime fans aren't a majority in anything.

Gunslinger Girl -II Teatrino- 1-2

What have you done, Artland? What have you done? Madhouse established a beautiful, calculated world with the first Gunslinger Girl and now it's become this bright and moe cartoon that feels more like a low-budget Saturday morning special.

I'm sure this has already been mentioned before in past threads but I just have to post it. Season 1 (Madhouse) left, compared to 2 (Artland) right. The picture itself doesn't even do the disparity justice because season 2 looks worse in motion.

No, I dislike Ozma because it's a mishmash of cliches that feel like they were stolen from Matsumoto's back pocket, the characters are paper-thin and uninteresting, the "plot" has spent most of its time on intricate technological jargon I don't care about, and even though almost the entirety of this episode is static face shots, the animators still can't be bothered to keep the faces consistent:
Ozma has a plot?!

I've never actually investigated season two, because I heard such bad things, but that's slightly worse than I had feared. Impressive.

We've definitely reached the point where you're nearly much guaranteed a stream of every show.

In North America, at least. Those of us in other English speaking countries still frequently get screwed over on such matters (No AnoNatsu last season, though the lack of BRS here in Blighty no longer stings). I'm curious to see how Crunchy's supposed renewed focus on getting UK rights pans out.

Katsuhiro Otomo, who previously headed up the omnibus collection Memories, has a new omnibus product planned for next year: Short Peace. It gathers together "top creators at the leading edge of Japanese animation, exploring possible future avenues of expression." It'll include the short Otomo has been directing at Sunrise, "Combustible," about firefighters in the Edo period.

I would get excited for this, but it it's so far away :(

Hah, yes we get it, show. Henriette has a nice, booming chest!

"Nyanyanyanayanyanayanyanayanya!!"

Haha, poor Herc. So cute when she's like that.

How do they get all this stuff to gather?!

Ha, I love how all of Three Card seems to be fond of Henriette. (Well, questionable for Twenty, as he has a crush on himself more!)
The backstory flashback was a surprise. Never saw comedic goons as one to get that sort of treatment.

Ha!
five mintes of Twenty losing it was entertaining. Poor "Beautiful Me's" first bath is from another...

Three cheers for peer pressure!

I liked this episode. Had humor while adding a bit to the story of the opposition
The with fight between Three Card was some good laughs. The bit of emotion at the end was needed to top it off and it delivered.
Best episode in a while.

So you're saying it's official that Bodacious Space Pirates is the better show? Finally, I am vindicated by cold, hard facts!

While Space Pirates is a vastly superior show, I am a bit saddened by the low sales of Maru. However doesn't this still mean it's on the edge of profitable, since the calculated manabi line is somewhere in the high 2000's range?

Most impressive. I am so fascinated by this game.

Having only watched the first episode of Gunslinger girl 2 to get a feel for the show I can only agree that the art style shift was absolutely jarring. I will have to explore the show further to decide if anything else took a downturn but I suspect it may have. The first is a llot to live up to though. It was a beautiful series.

I think the one interesting thing to take away from this video is that the sound of people playing karuta in Chihayafuru is actually pretty damn close to what it sounds like in real life. It turns out that the sound people working on that show weren't exaggerating the sound for effect, as I assumed they were.

There's not much odd about that sound considering the sorts of environments this game is played or on the straw mats they were on. Not exactly a weird or unexpected thing.

Every forum is getting it's own Community sub-forum now? I'm never going to be able to find an old thread ever again unless I'm subbed to it.

edit: Wait, what? The Community sub-forums are just threads which are in Community but which are relevant to Gaming or OT?

Welcome to the brave new world. You know where this is going.
