It's just a dumb joke they've been recycling since ep15 aired. Like all A-1 productions, there might be a good idea once, but then it gets recycled and reused until everyone is certain that the studio has no real creativity or passion.

I think there is no problem. As I see it they can continue abusing of Mr. Amemiya & Mr. Imaishi brilliance a little more. So, I rather enjoyed
trolling everyone again. It made the whole fight more dramatic instead of in the game where it was pretty much a curbstomp. The last half of the episode, not so much. I guess it goes with the whole
that was seen in the game, but wow was that pretty boring.
Not a fan of how the teammate's
were used though I am ok with
being used as the end all reflect beam spammer.
Overall, it was a good adaptation/rip right from the games of the original game. While I would have liked to see more stuff from the Golden, it's understandable why they weren't added in. I would have liked to see more different personas used as Izanagi is pretty boring to look at. I mean most people would be stomping all over
with a Trumpeter and Yoshitsune at that point.
I am looking forward to the OAV though now, with the probable
fight which means more different personas being used!

The next arc is filler, but most people claim that it's the best filler so it's your choice whether or not to watch it.
After that, if you decide to skip Davy Back Fight, don't make the same mistake that I did. At least watch the final two or so episodes of the arc so that you don't miss an extremely important
character introduction

final boss. Oh well, good stuff and once again cements Brosuke as Yu's love interest.
This show was really all over the place, but as a fan of the game, I thought it was great. Some scenes were adapted very faithfully which might have actually detracted from their quality, but some other scenes that switched some things up were handled pretty damn well. One episode in particular is basically a deconstruction of the silent protagonist, something all fans of the game know Yu is in it. Definitely something to set it apart from the game's narrative while still keeping the overall message.
For me, this will go down as the 2nd best video game adaptation in the medium. Can't wait for the true end episode.

Yes, best video game adaptation yet. If only there was more.
But you missed the most well crafted example of editing and time management ever devised, for episode 11. Constraining that magnificent verbose on one episode's time while keeping the TOLD power intact, that is a serious task and no easy feat, well worth seeing the series on the TV airing.

The G8 filler arc is definitely pretty fun. I'm currently making my way through Davy Back... But I'll post complete impressions after I finish it.
