PC patch for it got released half an hour ago and is FUBAR for most people. Completely broke my install of the game and the 10gig fucking download for the patch reads as corrupt :|
Seriously? Thats shit.

I've played the vanilla version but I'm going to get it for the 360 too.

I just have to buy a new console now.

I don't think I'll bother getting the EE.

I can't be bothered downloading before they fix that. Also I probably won't have time until like 2 weeks to properly play it. :(

But fuck yeah, I am going to patch that bad boy up to enhanced edition and play through it again, best RPG in years.

Pretty sure all versions are enhanced editions now. On PC it's a free patch and on 360 vanille version = enhanced edition.

If you're getting a console you should check out the Dragon's Dogma demo next week and see if it tickles your RPG buds.

I didn't realise the 360 was enhanced too. Thanks for the info.
The Witcher series are definitely the best RPGs this gen.

I've been looking at Dragons Dogma for a while already :)

Is anyone getting the Enhanced Edition of Witcher 2?

360 copy arrives in the morning. Completed all the outstanding Uni work I had to finish tonight. Safe to say I'm going to wake at 10, install, grab a red bull from the shop, close the curtains and get stuck in.

Didn't play it on PC, but I've heard all the positive impressions. I've also heard in the OT that it's as close to a great ASOIAF game as you're likely to get, in a good way.

I've heard good things about The Witcher 2. Shame I don't have a 360. The amount of reasons are stacking up for why I should purchase one again. So disillusioned with the PS3 and Sony.

Its a brilliant game. The writing is certainly stronger than you'll find in most videogame stories. It makes sense as they are drawing inspiration from the Witcher novels.

The best thing about the game is that the choices you make actually matter. You could choose a certain course of action early on in the game and later on in the game you'll face the consequences of that action.

Its gorgeous to look at too.

Honestly I don't even take my PS3 back to Uni with me anymore. I bought that thing for MGS4 and since then it's been a bit of a relic. Sony's online is shite, besides Uncharted I'm not a big fan of the 1st party titles and I play all my multiplatform games on my 360, with achievements and party chat with my real life friends.

I've watched more Blu Ray films than I have played actual games, and that's the only reason I haven't sold the thing.

This is what most excites me. I loved the end of Mass Effect 2 where all the things you'd done in the game affected how the finale would play out. Sure I lost one of my favourite characters as a result, and yes, I was genuinely upset about that, but once I reflected on it I realised I'd had an emotional reaction. And that's something I rarely get from games.

That made ME3's shitty hallway, choiceless, turret section bullshit even harder to deal with. Hate that game.

Bayern players who are one yellow card away from missing the second leg in Madrid (or the final..): Boateng, Müller, Gustavo, Kroos & Alaba.

If Boateng (likely) and Gustavo (very likely) will get booked then Bayern is pretty much done in Bernabeu.
Because they'd need a substitute CB even though they don't have one on the bench except for van Buyten, who is still injured or not fully recovered from what I understand so only Tymoshchuk can be put into CB. But he will be needed in case Gustavo is missing. No idea how they will deal with that.

Should Kroos and Müller get booked, then they'd miss a 10er and Pranjic would have to play (I assume).

Without Alaba they wouldn't have a decent left back and Lahm would had to go to the left while leaving the right wing to Rafinha (Ronaldo would rape him).

:(

I have a PS3 but considering buying a 360 if I move out next year. They're cheaper and if I get FIFA at first I'll be sorted until I have money to get other things

What does the Witcher play like? Because I bought Dragon Age Origins and hated it, combat was awful.

Contento is LB, way more likely to play than Rafinha. I'm more worried about the CB position, thankfully Webb is the referee and he's a hard time showing cards. Tymo can do a fine job, actually I think it would be smart to start him as DM in the Bernabeu he has more experience.

Mueller is going to the bench for this match, and Kroos will be playing as #10 so there's very little risk in them getting card.

And still people think that having a Madrid referee in the first leg of the Marseille match was just a coincidence. 5 yellow cards for Bayern players in a single match is not a coincidence.

I liked the combat in the Witcher but I know some people really disliked it. Basically you tap your mouse as soon as your sword hits its target, this initiates the next swing. Its kind of like a rhythm game.

The story is very good of course. Its much more interesting than DA imo. The charactersget much more development too. Witcher 1 established the choice system which the Witcher 2 has expanded upon. It was developed on an old engine though so certain parts of the game run pretty badly.

With your 'banter' (horrible word) on here I refuse to believe you're an anti-social hermit Wilbury. I've got an image of you pulling your cock out at the pub and hundreds of people sighing and smiling, knowing good old Wilbury's at his antics again.

And when I say I've got an image, I don't mean literally. I'm not picturing your cock in 'The Eagle and Child'.

As far as I'm aware, TW2 is sort of like a Dragon Age but with real time, action game esque combat. You don't pause time like in DA, and you've got to block and parry a lot. I think.

That's the kindest thing anyone's ever said to me. By the way, if you do want a picture of my cock you need only ask. Yurt's got a fuckload of my naked body with Chiellini's head photoshopped onto them; it looks like Neo when he's in that bean juice in the Matrix.

Sounds pretty good; I still think Assassin's Creed's combat system is fantastic, if Skyrim had something like that it'd pretty much be greatest game ever invented.

Gotta get up for uni in six hours, fuck me.

Contento would be even worse than Rafinha, imho. He's way too inexperienced - I thought he even sucked vs. Mainz. Tymo could be ok at DM, I guess...but if Boateng and Gustavo are missing...who's supposed to be the CB next to Badstuber? Isn't vBuyten still injured?
Bayern needs either Tymo or Gustavo in DM otherwise they're done. Schweine & Kroos in DM would be like putting a rope around your neck in Bernabeu.

But then you get Webb who allowed Spain to be kickboxed by the Netherlands, so is that a coincidence? :O

:lol

I think Assassins Creed combat is a bit wonky, what with everyone just standing around and waiting for you to attack them.

I've got to be up for The Witcher in 10, fuck me, better get this episode of Friday Night Lights watched.

It might be nostalgia talking, but I don't think you could play DMC with any other controller.

After a decent launch lineup for the Vita, complete with release week parity with the US for most games, it's back to normal for SCEE. No known release dates for Skullgirls or The Pinball Arcade other than 'in the coming weeks' or 'a month after the US release', respectively.

I know how you Arsenal fans must feel.

So I haven't kept up with any Witcher 2 news. Is there a way of just playing the new content/locations, or do I just have to stumble upon them during a new playthrough?

Yeah, DMC is 'my series' as it were and I could not play it with any other controller. I'd still keep my PS3 as a Blu-Ray player though but I'm really leaning towards doing my gaming on the 360. I already know for a fact that I'm going with the next Xbox next generation unless Sony come out with something that will make me cry with joy. Going by how they've been in the last few years though, I don't expect much from Sony.

Is the eagle and child a common pub name?

Theres one quite near me in Hurst Green that's all

I didn't like witchers combat much. Witcher 2's however I felt in love with.

My local club got deducted 5 points today for something our previous owners did :/ Now we look dead cert for relegation and it sucks! Most of our players will likely leave as they are good for our division when they want to be and our club will have to rebuild from scratch for the second year running! I only just got used to these guys :/

"There is no doubt that was the hardest game we have played, with everything that was at stake, the moment and everything that happened," Alves said. "People say Chelsea could have won but for the referee but that is not our problem. We do not control the referees. We are there to play football, to compete and to try to reach the final. What can we do about the referee?

I think all this ref conspiracy stuff is just lunacy to be honest.

Refs make mistakes, and when in doubt the bigger team gets the benefit unfortunately, but I don't buy any grand conspiracy by UEFA or FIFA or any of the FA's from any country.

I think Contento is better than Rafinha, and it would be plain stupid to move Lahm again, we all know he is better in the RB position anyway.

We'll know after the match ends. I'm not too happy about him being the referee tbh.

Is Eto'o still world class? I know he plays for Anzhi now but I saw the goal he scored against Real in Barca's 2-6 win and was floored.

I also share a birthday with him.

Eto'o didn't score in that game. Henry x 2, Messi x 2, Puyol x 1, Pique x 1. Higuain and Ramos 1 each for Madrid.

I thought we were going for

|OT9| Messi is a Tender Lover.

It would be apt for the Barca games coming up.

Messi is sure to do some damage.

I hope you are right! He hasn't been THAT great against chelsea(Hitting the crossbar all those years ago and assisting Iniestas goal in 09 are his main contributions yet)

Very excited/nervous for the upcoming CL games and El Clasico.

I see referee talk has already started above.

I hope for good controversyless games this week. Especially the ones featuring Barcelona. I really hope El Clasico goes off without a hitch and both teams play the awesome football we know they are well able to play when they want to. None of this fighting/diving crap.

And I want Stewart Downing to play like a competent footballer.

I don't buy into any of the conspiracy crap for one second, but as much as I think Dani Alves is a fantastic footballer, he is a bit of a cock, no? It's not hypocritical for him to say that he can't directly control the referees I suppose, but there's no question that he tries his damnedest.

And I'll just preempt all of you and get it out of the way. I know... LUIS SUÀREZ. Okay.

I think Barça will crush Chelsea and it won't come down to refereeing. Just thought his quote was funny. It'll be an entertaining game – no question about that!
