I've been lurking the site (neogaf) for the last few months. I decided to post in this thread because I've been trying to experiment with this 90 challenge but can't seem to get past day 3.

I think I can do the challenge now. Now that I see it's wide spread and everyone on these boards seems to know about the plasticity of the human brain on how it changes and isn't directly hard wired.

I found out by revisiting Gary Wilson personal website and Marnia Robinson personal website also (I am member on both sites). They have a lot of information in regards to what highly sexual stimuli like porn does to the human brain. It's not your penis that's the problem (erectile dysfunction). It's your brain that is being desensitized by the highly sexualized content that is available to us.

I'm ready. Even though today I fap. I'm up and ready for tomorrow. Withdrawal is going to be b*tch once I get past day 3 or 4.

You'll be fine. Try to fill your usual fap time with another activity though. Games (preferably with friends so you just don't shut it off) or whatever you want. And the reason you can't get past three is that you've trained your brain that it will get porn on day 3 so that's when it really gonna push for it. Cravings of anything are predictable like that I think.

I figured I would be climbing the walls after that much time, but I am closing in on a week and feeling surprisingly normal. It's... nice!

Just find other things to occupy your time, fortunately we live in an age where that's not tremendously difficult. The routine of it might be what's got you hung up, so perhaps you might introduce a little shakeup into your routine otherwise. Go for a daily walk, start a new book, get some exercise, something to fill that hole. If you adjust a little and don't really concentrate on what you are trying to avoid too much, the time will pass easier than you realize and you will be a lot more confident about it.

Well, just kinda thinking out loud here. Porn causes problems because it isn't natural stimuli (or the frequency isn't). Having sex is a natural stimulus, one that we evolved around for thousands of years. So sex shouldn't really hurt you, I would presume, since we're trying to revert our bodies/brains to a point before they were influenced by porn. Unless you're having sex 2-3 times a day. But at that point who cares?

I think that's an important question. Dating/relationships can really help curb the urges/feelings of watching porn.
That and a partner will be much more understanding of you going "I really can't tonight, I have this thing where I need to not have a fuck-ton of fucking."

There is no test. Do you have some of the symptoms or not?

Symptoms include:
- Complete lack of morning wood (as in you haven't had any for as long as you can remember)
- Difficulty maintaining erection without constant stimulus
- Erections are not immediate when looking at porn, even if you're horny, requiring physical stimulus to get you going
- Difficulty maintaining erection during intercourse, even if you're hard as a rock during foreplay
- You find yourself needing nastier and nastier porn as time goes by to do it for you
- Lasting for an unreasonable length of time during intercourse; difficulty cumming from intercourse (even if a good blowjay or handjob can do it for you)
- You have the "chaser" effect of wanting to jack off again not long after you already jacked off
- You masturbate out of routine/boredom rather than any actual need ie. you think, "11pm? Guess I better go look at dirty porn, make myself horny, then jack off."

Good lord, I do. Except the nastier porn part, I find myself favoring amateur stuff more than anything now. But yeah, I have most of those problems. lol, who the hell watches music television anymore? Unless it's some channel like AUX TV, I wouldn't give a chance.

What really annoys me is how music these days plays of the sex drive of people. They give it a decent beat/catchy jingle, but it's all about wanting to lay a girl down on a bed and fuck the shit of of her, or a chick wanting to get freaky on a dude. I'm in bed by 10 and by 11 I'm asleep. If I let it idle, my brain will randomly crave lust, but I'm convinced of this change of lifestyle. My work has improved massively, I feel better all around, not because of cutting the pmo, but the whole integral process. I do find myself lusting after any girl, doesn't matter the age or weight, as soon as I see curves I get cray. Stay strong broheims.

It's a good idea to avoid sexual triggers when you're starting out (first couple weeks). After that the hyper-addictive phase will pass.

If you do end up looking at porn or any sexualized stuff, keep your hands off your dick! This has saved me in the deepest throes of lust.

The post wasn't about seeking out porn, it was about what to do once you find yourself looking at porn. It's quite hard to avoid sometimes, especially after the slippery slope of common sexualized entertainment.

The point is you're not to have porn fantasy. So you focus on the sensations of masturbation rather than whatever delicious imagery you can conjure up in your own head. And yes, a loose grip helps because then you're not gunning for the end goal.

Obviously things have answers that are in this thread, but the specific question I asked you is if you advocate no masturbation whatsoever. I was judging from this post that that is what you advocate. You can probably answer that. And then you basically said sex is bad, without qualifying what is a lot, or what is addictive, etc.

Alright, then how is it rewired, and how do you not, well, enjoy yourself during 'the journey' without screwing up whatever it is you say need to be rewired?
