Guys, I think this post came from an alternate universe. This thread is now an episode of Fringe.
I don't think the writing in this thread is that bad.

Gearbox and Aliens Colonial Marines says a very big 'Hello'.
Agreed. At this point, I'm basically using GTAV confirmation as a litmus test for whether or not we can expect sufficient 3rd party support.
Problem is Nintendo fans are used to get fucked by 3rd parties, so unless 3rd parties KEEPS giving out their games on Wii U over and over again, and not 1 game and bad sales = no more game it will fail for them.
I mean WHY buy a game in a series if you don't know if the sequel will ever come on the same platform?

Ok. This is the stupidest post I have ever read in this forum. Ever.
PS360 version will sell way better then the Wii U version (if there will be one) is my guess.Well if GTA5 sells bad on Wii U, there's no hope for anyone else unless you're CoD.
Well its the truth, no matter if a game sell bad or good, developers/publishers find an excuse to not release the next game in the series on Nintendos platforms.
Best selling or on par selling Soul Calibur 2, Burnout series, where is the Soul Calibur 3 or Burnout 3 on Nintendo platform to make 2 examples?
3rd parties don't STICK with it and ride it out for a long run.

To be fair, there was absolutely nothing about Soul Calibur 3 that made any sense whatsoever.
"Hey, you know that other competitive fighting game franchise we have? Let's skip over an arcade release initially and have it exclusive to the PS2, ignoring the other two systems it sold quite well on!"
The thing is, I don't want GTA or CoD on my WiiU.
I want good, interesting games.

You can have both!
Namco was doing Xbox and GC owners a favor man.
Well the thing is I don't play that much third party games to begin with except for a few here and there including Fallout and Saint's Row. I'm not interested in Microsoft's first party or Sony's for that matter. In my opinion as long as Wii U receiving third party support and has a decent online infrastructure then it should keep me busy. It's way to early to predict, but rumors of Wii U's power and with PS4 / Nextbox coming probably holiday 2013, I don't know if it's wise to get your hopes up that Wii U will be the only machine a gamer would need.
Sure, it'll get the best versions (probably) of PS3 and 360 games, and of course wonderful Nintendo exclusives in HD -- But even if it gets an aggressive head start, what happens in 2014? Will third parties pass the U up because it can't run the engines made for the other two platforms?
It would be great if Nintendo invested in the future by putting as much power as they can in the U, but they're not big fans of breaking even / taking a loss with their consoles. Keep in mind the tablet technology + streaming is likely an expense that competitors will use for higher end graphics, so who knows how it will play out?

But the second part didn't. So if GTAV drops on the WiiU I shouldn't get it for fear of not getting GTAVI?
I don't think anyone wants a 2012 Silicon Knights game, no matter how good ED was.
Yeah, I have a 360 and play it alot....I just kinda don't want a lot of ports. Aside from Aliens, I really don't see alot of 3rd parties actually, you know, bothering developing cool stuff with the tablet controller.
Nintendo's 3rd party issues start and end with Nintendo. Blaming developers and publishers, or claiming they're 'screwing over Nintendo fans' is just silly.
Hmm. I tend to think everyone deserves a share of the blame, including Nintendo. But paying for advertising, buying middleware tools, providing developing support, relinquishing launch spotlight for the 3DS.. it's pretty obvious that they are indeed making an effort. So I ask: at what point is Nintendo doing enough?Nintendo's 3rd party issues start and end with Nintendo. Way to generalize. There are a good number of us looking forward to those launch ports. A good game is a good game. Then Nintendo fans claim they don't want ports. I don't get it.

Of course not, why would third-parties develop big exclusive games for Wii U?"Pretty damn good" as in "large, varied 3rd party titles that you can't play on PS360"?
Are third party ports such a bad thing for launch?
For a lot of Wii owners, that's access to content and franchises they've never had a chance to play before. I think having major franchises available day 1 on a new console is a good strategy

They DO have a chance to play these titles. Which is why I don't get this logic. If an exclusive Wii owner by now had any interest in Arkham City, Grand Theft Auto etc..they wouldn't be exclusive Wii owners. Are third party ports such a bad thing for launch?

Anime is for losers bro.
Anyway, right now I see no compelling reason to buy a multiplatform game on the Wii U.
Pikmin 3, new Retro game, and NEW! Legend of Zelda for launch.
The hell is this? Since when ispoorhorrendous literacy supposed to be funny?
What I'm saying is that it will not even enter the MIND of a PS360 owner to NOT get the next game in the series on their platform, but it WILL enter the mind on a Nintendo platform owner because it has happened to many times before.
So they may think why invest in it get hooked, when there is a big possibility to not getting any more games in the series.
Dead Space, Bioshock, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, is there ANYONE who expect these series to NOT get another game on PS360 (well 3 of them have already been announced)?
But there is a different tune for Wii U, and I GOD DAMN HOPE it purely because NDA developers/publishers are saying no plan to make a Wii U version on those series atm, and not actually for real no plans to do them.
i don't yet either, but i'm hoping to be surprised, again. for example, that sega Aliens Colonel Marione one, hoping they use the pad as a radar or something. without stuff like that, id say the best chance it has being my go-to multi-plat box next gen is if sony charges for online too, or both do the used game rumor thing.
Your avatar implies vast maturity.
Luke Smith used phrases like "piece of shit" all the time. So did Shawn Elliott. And those two are examples of some of the more interesting people to be involved in the gaming press. Being honest and calling something a "piece of shit" is a breath of fresh air in this industry. You can be crass and intelligent at the same time; they aren't mutually exclusive.
GAF is hardly representative of the market. Also I think you overestimate the importance of the established account/achievement system.
If it's just ports, they're going to be in trouble as far as gaining market share with core gamers.
They're going to need some exclusives and have the best versions of most 3rd party games. Ideally there's enough power under the hood for devs to do that with minimal effort.
Probably every person on this board has built up an account(s) with Xbox Live, Playstation Network or Steam. And I doubt many people use them all equally. So when the next big multiplatform game comes out, are you going to buy it on WiiU for the streaming functionality, or the account you already prefer? Even if you're a big Nintendo fan, and you own an Xbox360. Are you going to start buying everything for WiiU when you already have a big 360 library and Xbox Live account? For the superfans, maybe but probably not for most.
So, yes.. if I can have everything on Wii U (not really a fan of any Sony/MS 1st party IPs), that would be perfect for me. I couldn’t care less about my accounts. A all-you-need console is far more enticing.
