Sigh.. Does not look promising. Too much like C2. I guess I will skip it, if not some good info appears.

wow @ the crysis hate in this thread. thought the trailer looked awesome, don't know what some of you were expecting, if this is just an "expansion pack" almost everyother shooter sequel has to be called an expansion pack too.

INCEPTION SOUND!!

I just saw Inception for the first time a week ago. The actual horn sound is pretty underwhelming (compard to what people call "inception horn" in other trailers):p.. it's just a horn (great sound, don't get me wrong).

On topic: Not that interested. Still haven't finished Crysis 2..

I can't believe all of the bad reactions.

Crysis 2 was one of the best shooters of last year and set a new benchmark for visuals on the PC (top notch visuals + super quick performance). Loved the hell out of it just as I did the original Crysis.

I feel as if people were far too quick to slam it simply because it appeared on consoles.

In forest scene there is subpixel aliasing in the distance and shader aliasing on nanosuit, so it was recorded live.

In 1:12 we can see that rocket destroyed part of wall.

There was also frog in the river :)

BTW that grass moving on the wind looks awesome.

Yes... I'm sure... there was. I guess this trailer is made for people with this kind of interest in graphic technology and eye for detail, because I couldn't see shit!

Also y no inception horn?!

Hey, that's an amazing idea though.

If I had a nickel for every time I saw someone on a forum dismiss the popular opinion as just "X being X" I would have so many nickels I would die.

It looked nice, but I can't disagree more on the quality. I thought it was a disappointment overall. I liked the first Crysis and Far Cry, so that made it worse.

What part doesn't make sense? Seems pretty easy to follow to me?

How did the aliens change species and pretty much all aspects of their technology from 1 to 2? That didn't seem to make sense. Also, where did my characters from the first game go - you know the game where I'd worked out how to defeat the bad guys and headed back to the island to "finish the fight"? That didn't make much sense either.

Mind you, games pull this shit all the time so I guess there's no point asking why the game Universe seems to change on whim from game to game.

Plotwise it is easy to follow though in terms of each game internally, but taken together sense is not made so far as I can see.

Man, that trailer sucked. What an awful way to "show" the game.

Is it too hard to just release a 4-5 minute gameplay clip showing off the new features?

I know it's still early but I hope the aliens aren't the only enemies. My time with Crysis games always starts to sour when they show up.

The graphics were about the only place that Crysis 2 succeeded. It was optimised as shit, also.

I would agree if you said the art style was lacking, because I think the colours and bloom were awful, but play those night levels and tell me it's not fucking stunning, even in DX9.

The grand scale of some events were visually impressive (Collapsing bridge, nighttime alien artillery) but the levels, models, animation and effects were so so. Can't say it blew me away with texture work or effects.

I absolutely adore the original Crysis, but I felt that Crysis 2 was also an equally great game. The fact that it was different in a number of ways did not detract from what was an excellent sandbox shooter/stealth game.

I absolutely DETEST the original Far Cry, however. It was a looker for its day, but the core design was absolutely awful with very poor gunplay, atrocious AI, bad mission design, horrible enemy encounters (the Trigen), and various other problems. It was very clearly Crytek's first attempt at really making something and they fell very short. Crysis was a massive shift in terms of quality and I feel Crysis 2 upholds that in a different way.

Looks like something straight out of Crysis 2.
The "look" of Crysis 2 was truly incredible, though, and quite an upgrade over the original game.

What I'm interested in is seeing how they choose to build levels this time. All of the material we've seen thus far suggests potential for a more open environment that blends some aspects of Crysis 1 with other aspects of Crysis 2 into one package.

It was mostly running a round in the dark shooting at blurry stuff while the HUD artifacted, the trailer was terrible, I'll wait until a proper playthrough of a level is shown.

Tell me where you find your graphically superior games. You must know of a secret developer or something to believe what you just said, right?

Really? What on earth can you name that bests it from last year?

The animation work was absolutely incredible as were the models. The Witcher 2 has nothing on Crysis 2 in those areas (Witcher has very stiff animation and awkward models in comparison). Battlefield 3 can't even match what Crysis 2 delivered.

Do I have to list superior games now? Don't get me wrong Crysis 2 is a good looking game, but Crysis 1 and Far Cry blew me away. Crysis 2 didn't, and The Witcher 2 and Battlefield 3 were at least as impressive as Crysis 2.
The graphical gap between "State of the Art" and "good looking" has completley diminished to zero in my eyes. Can't say that any game really impressed me last year.

The editing just made it painful.

Eh, you really think they will show something good to us right now. Neah, let them see something at E3, but I come with a good example from ubisoft who gave some weeks ago a simple and uncut gameplay from FC3, 5 minutes or so with that Dr.X [forgot his name].

Beginning of the trailer sounded cool, but the gameplay looks like you're just fighting a lot of those stupid aliens. Give me Crysis 1 first half part 2 instead of Crysis 2 part 2 please. I'll pass..

I understand, you have Crysis 1 syndrome. Luckily I didn't start pc gaming again till last year; that single-game jump in graphics wasn't there for me in the same way. I still don't see how people think battlefield 3 looks better, though (and Witcher 2 is completely different style, incomparable). Crysis 2's animations look so much smoother to me for some reason; that along with the physics, particle effects, etc. its just clearly better looking to me.

Outside of CoD, what other shooters?

I don't mind if they keep a bunch of Crysis 2 stuff, if anything that would give them more time to improve the stuff that really matters.

Crysis 2.5 engaged.

Im just glad it has more foliage, will buy for multiplayer as long as they improve on what i feel was the best MP experience of the first Quarter of 2011, SP i get the feeling will disappoint me.
Nonetheless, I will buy this day one, mainly if not solely to get the edge in MP.

Just another teaser. About 30 of them in a a row.

It's really pretty, but is it wrong to ask for at least 5 seconds of "solid" gameplay footage? :<

I honestly can not understand the hate that crytek get on here, if this had came out of leftfield by some unknown developer, i am positive jaws would have been on the floor.

I am quite looking forward to this.

I'm with you. I don't understand people who say they disliked Crysis 2 because it was inferior to Crysis 1 and Farcry. It was inferior to Crysis 1 in more than one aspect (that isn't graphics). Still, it was the best FPS of its year, and by far. The gameplay of Crysis is unmatched as of today and downgrading it a bit only makes it a bit less awesome.

You get some of the best FPS gameplay ever with the best graphics ever. Must not be enough.

Not that hot for Crysis 3 but if suit becomes interesting to control again it should be good.

Only thing I could see in that trailer were corridor environments.

What gameplay do you want? Just check crysis 2 for the gameplay.

Heh, the preview will have you to believe that you're going to have to do more than use stealth. Shit sounds awesome.

I think Crysis 1 is superior, but Crysis 2 was really fucking good.
