4 out of 5 from empire magazine. For an action movie that's a great score.

If people are starting to see previews tonight I'm bailing on the thread until I see it on Thursday

Btw - 3D or 2D? Don't care about 3D but there are way more screens showing it, and larger screens

Has anyone tried D-Box seats?

Cineworld is thrilled to announce the addition of an entirely new dimension to the big screen with the installation of D-BOX movement technology seats.

Cineworld will be the first UK cinema chain to offer seat movement technology to film fans kicking off with The Avengers Assemble. Through movement and vibrations, this cutting-edge technology will create the ultimate cinema experience for Cineworld customers.

D-BOX’s unique technology excite film-goers senses through the power of movement and feeling, creating a multi-sensorial revolution in film watching. D-BOX simulators offer the next dimension of the cinematic experience, placing viewers in the centre of the action. With seat movements perfectly synchronized to the onscreen action and sounds, D-BOX seats create an unmatched realistic immersive experience.

This sounds utterly ridiculous. But I'm tempted to try it out.

Watched Deathly Hallows pt. 2 with D-box and 3D. Felt like I was on a 2 hour roller coaster! What's cool about it is that its adjustable. If you don't like it, set it to a lower setting or simply turn it off.

I'm no critic, so I'll give you the best I can.

Pacing? Slow at the start with the Assembling of the Avengers. However once it reaches a certain point, it ramps up and keeps up from there. A far better feeling than a few of the recent Marvel films. Didn't want it to end, it was so well done.

Dialogue? Flowed really well. Surprisingly, quite a few jokes in there. Not a main strong point of the film, but really good. Sure you get the cheesy lines, but it's a comic book movie. Kind of part of the parcel really.

Action? So yeah, major strong point of this. Everything was perfect in the action scenes. This had to be a real comic book fight brought to life and MY GOD did they bring it.

So yeah for me, this felt like what a REAL comic book movie should be. Just amazing.

Also, they got the Hulk right. I giggled uncontrollably whenever he got some fighting screen time.

Yeah! Was the crowd into it?

STANDING GOD DAMN APPLAUSE

I NEED TO SEE THIS AGAIN IMMEJIUTLAY

Shit, another comment about the Hulk. I guess he's finally the real deal in this.

Thanks.

Fuck crowds. I went to see The Hunger Games recently and the people around me were the worst part by a long shot.

I hate it when I get a shitty crowd. Going to a midnight showing for Avengers. I've had success with those in the past.

Remember how The Joker from the Dark Knight had the "Pencil Trick"?

Hulk has like, 3 of them off the top of my head. Whoever scripted whatever the big green did deserves a raise.

Which state are you in?

Probably the "can't.believe.I'm.going.to.a.midnight.viewing.of.a.Whedon.film" state.

Not a huge fan of Joss's stuff; still don't understand the love for Firefly; and I dislike most of Marvel Studios' productions, yet I feel like I'll probably enjoy this movie. Go figure.

A state of denial at how awesome this movie is going to be.

j/k

A frozen coke?

Slushie in USA I'm pretty sure.

Yeah, gotta tell ya, I normally don't get Whedon's stuff, but he sstruck gold for me here.

This movie is my Holy Grail. A lifelong fantasy movie project, and as an added bonus burns Whedon-haters. Glorious!

This movie is to you what Abatap must have been for me. Or what Battle Angel will be. The difference being that you only had to wait 5 years.

It's the kind of movie we used to argue about in the playground in Elementary school. From that perspective, I've waited close to 30 years. But yeah, the last 5 years, this has been my most anticipated movie.

That's cool. I hope you dig it. I hope I dig it. If Whedon can lift his game in this film, I will be happy to eat some crow if it means that I don't have to endure 2.5 hours as opposed to enjoying them.
