I didn't know what it meant. I don't think anyone else did either. lol. We just knew it was supposed to be bad. The way the line was perfectly delivered hurt my feelings.

You take enough English lit classes and you learn a few ye olde obscenities.

The guy is literally trying to enslave all of mankind and take over Earth.

I'm not saying it doesn't make sense from a narrative standpoint. I'm just saying I was surprised to hear it.

I'm still shocked at the number of people who think Captain America sucked.

It was a decent movie, and then we got to the montage.

That second half of the movie was such a turd. Bad CG, bad acting, bad plot, bad pacing, bad everything.

dems are the cold hard truths

Thankfully Avengers made him more fun and palatable.

I still can't believe that montage sequence in Captain America. It pisses me off to this day.

Fantastic Four would really fit perfectly into the MCU though. Goddamnit. I'm so upset. :(
Would it really, though? I disagree... They don't really come along till later on, and only in small bits. A mention of them would be awesome, but other than that it's not a huge loss. Same with Daredevil.

Hell, even Spider-Man isn't a big deal since he comes on later, so it would be sort of lame to have him included so early. But nevertheless, it would sell like hot cakes if he was a member, but oh well.

Also, fuck this thread. Every time I wake up it's blown up two dozen pages and I have to catch up. :lol

I'm not talking about Avengers. I'm talking about just being done faithfully Marvel style, and belonging to the larger universe. Fantastic Four is really one of the staples of Marvel and they definitely fit the "fun heroes dealing with interacting with the real world" tone that Marvel goes for in their MCU. Instead they have gotten 2 shit movies so far, and will likely get another shit movie whenever Fox finally decides to shit it out to keep the license.

ARGH!!!!! >_<

We're living in a universe where Joss Whedon is likely the most sought-after director in Hollywood right now. Huh.

how is

captain america reffered to as the FIRST super hero? surely Wolverine would be the worlds first super hero seeing as he first realises his powers as a kid in 1845, like in wolverine origins, or is it becase he doesn't technically become a super hero until 1979 when he meets stryker?

Isn't it the first avenger? Not knowledgeable about the universe at all. Or maybe it's both.

Wolverine doesn't exist in the MCU.

The director of Chronicle has already been signed on to reboot Fantastic Four, IIRC.

One thing that was a little bit there, but not as expanded much upon as I would have liked: Steve Rogers knowing a young Howard Stark. I thought there might have been potential there, but maybe not the right setting for this kind of movie.

I think wolvie is considered a mutant. People in that universe don't look up to mutant. They are feared.

Btw. This is the best summer pop corn movie I have ever watched.
At first I was doubting the movie like some people since most of the solo marvel movies was kinda underwhelming.

But this movie got almost everything right.

There might be a deleted scene regarding that. There are like 30 minutes of deleted scenes for the movie, with most of them being quiet smaller moments where stuff like that could have been discussed.

ME too. What is it about the montage that people hate? That it was executed poorly? Or that it existed in place of a proper movie climax?

I dunno. I loved cap. Gave me a cool rocketeer vibe.

My bro calls me as he was leaving the theater last night saying this was the best movie he's EVER seen and he's not into comics or anything lol

Can't wait to see it this weekend. I just wished they got rid of the full mask for Captain America. It looks soooo goofy lol. Make it a Robin-style mask or just lose it all together for the movies IMO

Pretty shameless how so many people are being duped to see this in 3D.

the post production 3d was pretty good. better than the spiderman trailer which even used 3d cameras. it was very well directed to make use of it as well the one continuous shot in the final battle was incredible in 3D. bad post production 3D is deathly hollows.

Holy fucking shitballs this movie was amazing and is probably the best summer action movie I've seen in the past 10 years. Return of the King is the last time I've felt this satisfied with a move (yeah yeah it wasn't a summer action movie). Like, I literally have no complaints and I need this on Blu-Ray NAO. Joss Whedon completely knocked it out of the park.

OMFGWTF THANOS!!!!!!

Nowhere to go but up!

Also, did anyone catch who did the CG in the credits? I missed it. I know LucasArts/LucasFilms did the sound but I missed the visuals. They did their job wonderfully.

I believe we got a WETA guy here talking about some of the stuff they did. Such as most of New York and the bow + arrows of Hawkeye.

If your talking power wise Thor is right up there with Hulk .

They both took the Chitauri from The Ultimates, but the Chitauri in this movie are pretty drastically different from the ones in the Ultimates and Ultimate Avengers, which were essentially Skrulls. In this movie, they basically just used the name because it's a recognizable race Marvel Studios owns the rights to.

Thanos is a cool fucking character. A serious bad ass that literally worships Death.(his name is based on Thanatos, the Greek god of death. Death in the Marvel Universe is personified as a woman, a female Grim Reaper type figure that Thanos is literally in love with. That's why the scene was so cool for me. When the Chitauri guy says that to fight Earth is to "court Death", it was a double meaning. That's why Thanos grinned.

Also, what Duckroll said.
Is the female you're talking about there, Hela? It would be awesome to introduce her in Thor 2, which could also in some way set up
Thanos
.

In that regard, I definitely agree. I would wish that all these characters occupy the same universe, just for the sake of conformity like the comics. But at this point, all these films that are being made tie someway into the Avengers, so if there's going to be a MCU movie that will never have anything to do with Avengers, it's probably not a priority. And thus, all the new movies we'll be seeing are original/classic Avenger members.

In other words, i've come to accept it gracefully.

Yeah but I'm hoping for a little more than that. :(
Not to continue to harp on the Ultimate version of the comics, but having a F4 movie with them being younger, would be cool. Also, why couldn't F4 have some tie with the new Spider-Man?

Does today's audience have ADD/ADHD? The attention span of a goldfish? I CAN'T believe people are really thinking that Steve
hands the $10 buck to Fury because, you know, he being from the 40's and all that as a tip to the black dude?

SERIOUSLY????? It was just minutes before that Fury mockingly bets $10 to Steve since the later says "nothing can surprise him anymore" ....... jeez...
Who the fuck actually thought that? Bahahaha

Yeah, it seems like a reverse Avatar situation.
