Surprised at the quality of this. Sorry if posted already...

Saw it for the second time last night and this scene brought the house down again. Most of the packed theater was laughing and clapping at this scene. There was a lady behind me, she had to be late 50s-early 60s, with her grand kids, and she was like 'get him Hulk, GET HIM!'. Her reaction was almost as good as the scene itself.

I don't understand why so many people seem incapable of enjoying both Nolan's darker, grittier, more grounded superhero vision and Marvel's big, fun, colorful superhero movies.

Why does it have to be an either/or?

Judging by the box office numbers, most people *do* enjoy both.

Are you not in the US? It definitely is not only 3D in this entire country. I saw it in 2D in Chicago and several theaters in Lexington, KY have it in 2D also.
No, that's in the Netherlands. There are exactly two theaters showing The Avengers 2D, in the entire country :/

Ironically this scene sealed the fact that Loki was a shit villain. His biggest role in the movie was to serve as comic relief.

Loki is kind of a dummy, his purpose was simply to give the movie an excuse to have an alien battle at the end of the movie. :p

Avengers was at 660~ mill worldwide by the end of the previous weekend. It'll probably take two more weeks to surpass Harry Potter.

Sounds about right.

If you take a look at the World's top 11 grossing films, five are Disney films :0!

Finally saw this for my birthday yesterday and quite enjoyed it. I tear'd up a bit at the end knowing full well it was over and that the 20 years of my nerdiness filled life had all culminated into seeing this kind of movie that I didn't think was possible at all back then.

I also sat next to this older woman and her husband. She was really getting into it, cheering when she should cheer and being worried about the people who were fighting or getting the shit kicked out of them. She oven let out an audible "Oh No" when Coulson bit it. No one ever acts that way at movies

they kinda just let shit flash in front of their face then run home and talk about it on the internet. But that lady was invested fully in the story and she just let it out. It was nice to be around.

Yeah the audience was really invested in the movie as well when I went last weekend. The audience cheered really loudly for pretty much all of the Hulk parts but also for when Coulson shot Loki right before he died. It's amazing how Coulson went from a fairly cool SHIELD cameo in Iron-Man to pretty annoying in Iron-Man 2 to an endearing hero in The Avengers. The Avengers really brought the other movies together extremely well in a way that actually made the previous movies better. It's kind of an anti-Spiderman 3.

Joss Whedon sucks
Joss Whedon sucks.
Joss Whedon is a terrible director and hack writer.

Joss Whedon sucks.
Plus, Joss Whedon sucks.
Pretty much all that needs to be said. And the first post too.
I don't know who Joss Whedon is, but judging from the lines in the Avengers trailers, the script sucks hence the movie will suck.
Also whedon sucks
