i kinda wish oda went with his original idea for the movie instead of the generic plot he went with in strong world. the only good thing to come out of it was chapter 0 for the manga.

Not surprised that Shirahoshi knew since it was obvious Hordy did it a few episodes ago.
:p

Glad Decken is going to be getting more time in the limelight. His Devil Fruit ability is much more interesting than a roid raging shark.

No shit Hordy killed the queen himself and blamed it on a human. I think Shirahoshi's reaction spoke for the audience.

As much as enjoy building things up, I think having 2 episodes straight without any of the Straw Hats was a bit much. I don't watch the previews, but based on the reactions, I'm happy there won't be another episode like the last 2 next week.

It's episodes like the last two where Toei's pacing issues really stand out. The whole "1 chapter = 1 episode" is bothersome in many ways. I understand they do it to avoid filler, but for slower episodes like this it really could use 2 chapters instead of 1. Last episode really didn't need to end on the princes getting defeated. Shirahoshi saying she knew Hody killed her mother and Decken "throwing" Noah is way more of a cliffhanger.

Hopefully Funimation fixes Hody's name when they get to the DVDs. God knows how long that will be.

Behind but wow was that not good. One Piece always fails to resonate with me when they fail to include Luffy or they focus on weak characters that we dont even care about. The princes are so terrible that I just wanted to just end the episode and move to the next one.

Didn't care much for the way they showed the Straw Hats, but for those that prefer the superior shot from the manga, here's an awesome background that I've been using since this chapter. Pay no attention to Jinbei's robe. The color wasn't revealed until the volume was released.

Linking to the deviantart pic threw us off. But I can see why you'd think that. Oh well, at least it's got the epic ost to back the anime up. It's kind of a trade-off.

like, what are you even comparing? the shot composition? nonsensical
And the episode was better animated than the rest of the arc

Just got caught up to date. I think my favorite ability of Luffy's is that he always says the right thing at the right time.

味方か、敵か、そんなこと。。。お前らが勝手に決めろ。 Very cool.

Next week's episode looks like it will be good.

Nonsensical my ass. That panel was the defining moment in the arc up to that point as the Straw Hats embraced the role of being the heroes even though they're humans. The anime completely screwed the shot up unlike in the past. It was butchered. The animation leading up to it was pretty good, but the pinnacle shot was awful. No excuse for it to look that bad.

those examples dont look much better
and I thought people that complain about movies not including selective scenes from books were annoying

toei has always had some questionable quality for the adaptation, you should be used to that by now
