Ghost Recon: Future Soldier |OT| The Future Is Here... Finally

The last level is really, really terrible.

That's too bad, the second to last one was pretty damn fun. Although, coming from the solo stealth one, I thought I could just ghost through it to the president's compound/office. And if you do try that, you can't move forward at all. Every area you're supposed to go through, you get an out of limits/area warning. So it forces you into a shootout to clear the area.

Which is strange since the previous 2 boards focus on no alerts. It's a bit inconsistent IMO. But I guess they don't dircetly SAY that to you, so you should just go in guns blazing. Odd that it's the same city environment they just asked you to ghost through though.

Depite that though, I'm really liking it. The gameplay and mechanics really make this fun. I just pray they do an elimination DLC. I know I keep harping on that, but that was the best mode for me in the past 2 games.

Ghost Recon: Fun Sometimes.

I love the game, but man, do you need everything working in your favor to have a good time; for me, anyway.

I'm currently sitting at a 36 Scout, 34 Rifleman and 15 Engineer. Once I get Armor Piercing rounds for each class (unlocked at 36), I'll probably tone it down a bit. I think I've come to love the Scout Class the most. The Vector is ridiculous.

Yep, that's what I was afraid of. Everyone has noob tubes now, the game is a pile of shit because of it.

Yeah, it's balls, but it's not even the main issue. People just suck at the game. And I know it isn't fair to pin that solely on the game itself, but the very nature of GR:FS ensures that lone-wolfing will actually get you nowhere. You need to be surrounded by competent players.

If you've got the chops in a game such as GoW3, lone-wolfing can at least allow you to get some decent stats and have some fun; sure, you'll probably lose, but unlike in GR:FS, it's possible to not be humiliated in the process.

If I enter into a game where one team is losing by close to 300 points, I am outta that shit instantly.

Ah, well. This shit is to be expected with objective-based adversarial MP games. It really isn't good for my health, though.

Holy Christ, you ain't kidding. Just finished it, and that last level was some seriously contrived bullshit. Took me so many tries on just Veteran to chase down the last guy. Seriously, was he sprinting non-stop or in a frickin' vehicle?!?
I swear half the time you just have to run past the firefights to chase him. Sucks.

But overall, the campaign was pretty fun.

Loved the all-stealth solo mission.

PSA for anyone who bought this game at Best Buy. They are giving away AC: Revelations free with it, and they will honor your previous purchase. I got two free copies today when the clerk recognized me from selling me 2 copies of GR on launch day, looked up my receipt and handed me 2 copies of Revelations. Go get them free shits!

Ignoring the fact that comparing MP3 to GR:FS is a bit of a stretch, it's completely subjective. Having clocked MP3, I can tell you that it still suffers from Rockstar's patented janky controls and does not hold a candle to the fluidity of FS, which feels like a born and bred TPS; MP3 feels like GTA4 modded to be more of a TPS.
Huh, I couldn't disagree more with you on that. Max Payne 3 felt absolutely wonderful to me.

MP is good fun for me. All I do is run around with a Pistol as a sniper and destroy people. It's sort of hilarious how good I am with pistols in this game, since I suck with them in every other shooter. :p

Unlocked the P90 PP19 last night for each faction accordingly, and P90 is a beast monster just like it was in beta. Completely destroy shit and rarely need to reload with such big clips. Add in more control on it and it's game over for anyone you spot. :p

I dunno, dude. The jank is more or less eliminated in bullet-time, but outside of that, I felt like Max's personal trainers were Niko Bellic and John Marston. My initial reaction was very much "ew". Not to mention, you pretty much have to jack up all of the sensitivity settings in order for the game to feel "right".

Gears 3, UC2, Vanquish - hell, even Space Marine trumps MP3 for me in this regard. Each to their own.

Question about the shotguns in this game: is this an accurate portrayal in terms of range/spread that just isn't abided by in basically every other shooter? Crazy accurate.

Max Payne on the PC was a PAYNE!! *rimshot*

I haven't finished it - I need to work out the mouse acceleration or something, but it's pretty bad on the PC. Every time I start the game, I lose interest because of the control. We'll see how GRFS holds up on PC. ;)

Any deets on the DLC yet?

Still workin hard on it here at RSE.

I will get this on PC only if I know a couple of reliable friends are getting it, but as of right now, this game is just not getting anyone I know excited. Which is a shame. I really crave a game that relies on team over wolves.

Still workin hard on it here at RSE.

You should work hard on getting rid of the grenade launcher as a secondary.

Man, the final rifles for Engineer seem fucking AWFUL. Either that, or I've become too accustomed to the bullshit awesomeness of the shotguns.

I can't make up my mind whether I want to buy this on PC. There are no reviews yet and I don't want to waste money on a crappy port. I enjoyed the heck out of the PS3 beta, but I get the feeling the multiplayer community will die out quickly. No one seems excited about it. I do have two other friends who would like me to get it, but just not sure.

I am in the same boat as you. I want it on pc, but my friends are on ps3 and they are still more interested in bf3

Had a new campaign glitch raise its head a couple of days ago on the Russian Airfield level. Turns out that sometimes an enemy outside of the hangar can shoot through the hangar doors and drop you. Had me and my co-op partner running around like confused chickens for about 5 minutes, trying everything we could to take the guy out. We didn't succeed.

When we restarted the checkpoint we unloaded on everybody we could see by the doors, stealth be damned.

That worked.

Man this game is glitchy, but its also surprisingly replayable regardless.

This game is hard to run. I put everything on high and got 20 FPS. I put tessellation and global illumination on low and got a 3 FPS increase! I may have to turn off DX11 to get above 40 FPS. My computer can run BF3 on a mix of high/ultra. Weird.

It is a shame as I really like the gameplay, but this has to be one of the worst multiplayer experiences I have encountered.

Technically speaking it has been a bit of a nightmare with poor matchmaking, incredible levels of rubber banding lag, multiple host migrations during single games, numerous server connection drops, map glitches, and character roll backs.

For a 6v6 online experience there really is no excuse for this level of apathy from Ubisoft. It is no wonder that they dropped it for 8v8. It is criminal too as I like the map design, the classes and the gameplay but for now I leave this alone.

sadly this game looks horrible on PC :\

ATI Radeon HD 6950, 8gb of DDR3 RAM, and 3.6GHz cpu. Even with DX11 off and everything else on high, I get ~25 FPS. Finally, I'm getting around ~50 FPS with DX11 off and shadows and volumetric lighting on medium. Ambient occlusion and parallax mapping off.

Woooooow. Me and my HD 5770 are gonna head back to playing Max Payne 3 maxed out. So glad I read this thread before I impulse bought the game on Steam.

Yep, the lag was never really fixed, and they took a shit on any semblance of "community" this game would have by allowing the grenade launcher as a secondary weapon to everyone.

Probably going to trade this in, the first time I've been this disgusted with a ghost recon game.

My friend can't connect to games or parties at all. I invite him to a party and it fails, or he invites me to a party and it fails. When he goes to quick match, the game says there are no games and gives him the option to create one. No one joins. His game also crashes often. Any ideas?

Really? This is my first Ubisoft game for PC. I wish they'd just use Steam if it's not Steam and if it's not on Steam, then use uplay to update.

Yeah, it's weird, but they don't release very many patches so people seem to forget that's how they deliver them. I had to think about it for a second myself lol.

Any screens from you PC guys?
I would, but I'm not running the game in DX11. It kills my frames. Hopefully there will be an update soon that makes it run better.

When I go to the game's properties in Steam it has a beta tab. I can't enter the beta because it requires a password. Wonder if it's a beta for a patch.

I think people who think FS looks terrible need to see it in motion. I'm a huge graphics whore and thoroughly enjoyed the graphics. My only gripe was the facial models.
Animation is really top notch.

Some of the ground textures are really, really bad. Like the outside of the prison.

Running game max settings in graphics, 1080X1920 resolution, DX11 all features on.

Barely ever drops below 60 fps on a GTX 680.

Looks pretty good to me =/ Sucks people are having trouble with this hopefully a patch fix's whatever could be going on.
