More from the Sweden medical centre:
  • Currently has three patients, and another who has been discharged.
  • A 29 year old male in critical condition.
  • A 20 year old female, also in critical condition.
  • An 18 year old male in fair condition, with a gunshot wound.
  • A 19 year old female was treated and released, she had a shrapnel injury.

I just got a text from my cousin, who lives around an hour away from Denver. She said a lot of local theaters are closing down for the day. Can't confirm, but I think we'll see a lot of this today.

KCNC reports that mother of alleged suspect called police as soon as news broke. She knew it was her son. And told police that she had to get to Colorado.

Leave the guy alone. Can't he feel sorry for the victims AND a person so disturbed he'd resort to shit like this?

Also, this guy's mother needs to be locked up. How do you know your son is capable of such things and alert no one?

The type of life I lived should have made me a serial killer. I am not, because I know better, we are still in control of the decisions we make in life. I do not feel sorry for this man.

Let's not get carried away on Uchip. I don't think his words are meant to be malicious. Don't take his words out of context. Of course, I have no sympathy for the killer, but I get what Uchip is saying. He isn't denying condolence for the ones lost.

One can appreciate the circumstances that may have driven someone to mass murder, but such notions are best reserved for another time and place.

I've been stuck with it in a tiny room. The gas is allowed to fill the room and I would have to do jumping jacks and shit to work up a sweat so my pores would open and I would be breathing heavier. Then remove the gas mask and inhale deeply. Then answer some random question so the instructors could be sure I was breathing it in. Then I would be allowed to exit.

I suppose there could be a treatment that can ease the symptoms faster or something. I don't know much about CS gas at all. Some of these people were probably exposed to it for longer than I have been, like if they were trying to stay low and avoid him. So i can see how there would be sinus and throat irritation or damage.
Like I said before though, I didn't know if it could cause anything really serious, like a heart attack (well not a heart attack really but some unrelated medical problem) that these people were being treated for.

I understand more now though, so thanks.

I've always wondered why there are no metal detectors like the movie theaters in rough neighborhoods. People are really vulnerable at the movies in this day and age where people get guns like they're buying candy

I don't understand how he was able to get in through the emergency exit though?? Aren't you only supposed to be able to get in one way through doors like that?

You seem to be taking a very simplified view of all this, saying "people are a product of their surroundings and he must have gone through some serious shit to do this kind of act" Is not always true in these cases, its sounds like giving the person a way out of taking full responsibility.

Well, at this point, we don't even know the motive/what his circumstances were. Saying that you feel sorry for him belittles what he did and the lives of his victims.

Oh god.. Apparently from a witness account, a man went and and sat at the front of the theater, he walked over towards the emergency door, opened it, and checked if anyone was there. The witness said it looked like he was doing hand movements and eventually a man in all black, armor, helmet, and so forth came in, and the gunfire started from then on..
