Apparently he got arrested without fighting back. Very weird. How was the suspect detained? Did he not try to kill himself first?

Completely irrational, but my wife and I are going to wait for the blu-ray.
Exactly. What do you gain from it? Nothing. In fact, the shooter wins because this is basically what he was trying to do. Invoke fear into people
It is times like this you wish there was a police officer or a military veteran present. Someone to put the lives of others before their own.
What are the odds that this guy is former military who was deployed to either iraq or afghanistan?
Trust me its not about fear with everyone.Exactly.
I'm seeing this movie tonight; I absolutely refuse to let fear dictate my decisions.
Here's a news report on Jessica Ghawi,
KSAT 12 News has confirmed that a woman who recently moved from San Antonio to Denver was killed during the mass shooting at a Colorado theater Friday morning.
The parents of Jessica Ghawi informed KSAT of her death over the phone around 5 a.m.
KSAT has also learned a friend visiting Ghawi, Brent Lowak, 27 of Bulverde, was wounded in the shooting. Lowak's mother told KSAT 12 News that he underwent surgery but was expected to recover. Lowak's mother told KSAT 12 News that her son told her he saw tear gas and then heard gunfire. Lowak had originally planned to return to San Antonio on Saturday.
This wasn't the first time that Ghawi had been involved in a shooting. In June, she narrowly escaped a shooting in a mall in Toronto. She blogged about the incident, which you can read about here.

I didn't even think of that. I wonder if this will cut into sales. I'm sure people are going to think twice about going to see any movie in general for a little bit at least. I was planning on seeing it saturday and I still do but it's going to feel weird.
please, do go on

Yeah, I remember seeing where someone said that an individual went through the door to possible use their phone. It also could have been the shooter himself or a totally unrelated person who went outside to make a phone call. The witness on Today this morning said the person looked at his phone before going over to the exit. Since the door led to the outside it's perfectly possible that the shooter left stuff right outside that door but didn't walk into the theater with it. Or he just kicked the door in, which is how some have been describing it.
The fuck???What are the odds that this guy is former military who was deployed to either iraq or afghanistan?
Probably would have heard that by now. What are the odds that this guy is former military who was deployed to either iraq or afghanistan?
Not high enough to justify a comment like this.
Exactly.

Holy shit if this is true.
Trust me its not about fear with everyone.
you relate to certain feelings that could have possibly motivated the act.
Exactly.

Long term I don't think it will, but short term it definitely will. Of those that pass on seeing it opening weekend some will do so out of feeling unsafe, while the rest will just no longer be in the mood given the events and see it at a later time. They'll eventually go see it though.
A little less than half an hour until the debrief/conference, for those of you in Europe who were confused on what time.
So it's possible that someone opened the emergency door to let him in? Either intentionally or unintentionally?
I like how he handled this. Have any news sites carried his Facebook accidentally?
This is the part that I am not getting.
This morning I heard that he was dressed up and was in the theater the entire time.
I honestly think that the fire escape thing may turn out to be not true.
Apparently he got arrested without fighting back. Very weird.
you are relating me to a mass murderer?
am I getting this right?
I think it wouldn't shock me if he was ex-military, as a lot of these kind of shooters in history have been. For example, Dimebag Darrel's murderer.

i doubt this shooting has any effect on people going to see this movie

William Washington, a Denver radio host who was in the cinema at the time of the shooting, said it was only a few minutes into the movie when it all happened. He said:
""Anne Hathaway's character was in a meeting and all of a sudden there were lots of gun shots in the scene. But then they became very realistic, so much so my ears started to hurt.
William Washington continued: "Someone then shouted at us not to go into the lobby as the gunman was in there. They just shouted, 'he has a gun!' People were there with bloody faces. We were so confused as to what was happening. You could taste and feel some kind of gas in the air."
Fuck, I'm dumb. I'll edit my post.Did they move it up? I thought it was 11 AM mountain, which isn't for another 2.5 hours almost.
How would he be able to walk into a theatre with 3 weapons, body armour and a gas mask? I assume there would be attendants in the lobby, even if he did go in after everyone else.
