Rumor: Leaked stages/characters from Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale [Updated]

I can almost guarantee you if Wander or any other Team Ico rep isn't in the game it's not Superbots's fault. Just because they're both Sony owned doesn't give them total access and privelage to another team's games and universe, and Team Ico seems like the type that wouldn't play nice with something like this

Pretty sure you are wrong on this one. Sony owns the IP, therefore they own any rights to the characters and can do with them what they want, not Team Ico. They could hand the game over to a completely new team if they wanted.

I don't think just because Ueda isn't a part of Sony anymore means that Team Ico has turned into Hamsterdam

At this point Team Ico need to eat some humble pie and join the party. They've fucked up on The Last Guardian and now Sony are having to use engineers from SCEA and SCEE to help bail them out. They can't just sit in their ivory tower and fiddle with parameters any more.

Ueda was their creative director and designed the concepts behind all of their IP. He can't expect to leave the company and exert complete creative control any longer.

With how cherished SOTC/ICO are to the playstation, I'd have a VERY hard time believing they have no presence whatsoever in this game.

I expect at least 1 character and 1 stage.

Wow, my point was that there are a lot of Sony first party characters who could be in the game in place of stuff like DINO. So when people mention a "pure" list with fewer characters, they're incorrect in assuming that we'd have any less than the 20+ we have now. We'd just with more first party and less third party promotion. The crappy third party advertisements are not filler, they're wasting slots because there are many characters who could still be in the game that Sony does have access to.

Just replace Wander with Kat. It doesn't really matter who.

I was genuinely hoping for some surprise unlockables that weren't revealed before the game shipped. That would be a nice way of giving those of us who want more 'historic/niche' characters a fairer rub.

As it stands I only really want to play as Sir Dan. That's even without seeing him in action. I love that bugger dearly. That's what this game is about for me.

If I had to play as a second character, it would be PaRappa

I still think most people will be satisfied once we actually know the truth about the full roster. Because isn't this feasible?

Gamescom Reveal: Ratchet, Sackboy, Fortesque, Nariko
TGS Reveal: Spike + Raiden
Last Reveal: Evil Cole + Dante

Making the roster from Superbot 20 characters. Brawl had a starting roster of 22 to put that in perspective.
If that information is correct, I would have no problem assuming 6-8 characters will be held as secret unlockable characters that are not talked about until post-release. Making the final roster above 20, but below 30....Then there's DLC :D

I agree with you entirely. I've already stated it, but if Superbot, or Sony don't address any of this soon i'll be dropping my pre-orders and waiting to see what they do with DLC, or a Sequel. If they wanted to go this route they should have called it "Sony sponsered random character fight club" or something similar, not "Playstation All-Stars". That way they can have whoever they want and no one would have batted on eye lash at some of these inclusions.

There are 2, maybe 3 (if you hate Raiden that much) third party characters that don't really belong. Compared to the 20 or so Sony characters who are more than welcome. Do they really ruin the game for you that much?

So wait. Is this leak like really solidified? I REALLY hope it's not because I DO NOT want Raiden in this game over Snake, that would just be stupid, I'm sorry for any Raiden fans. I like him as a character but he does not deserve a spot over Snake or Big Boss. Also, Dino should not be the Capcom rep, if there is one. Lastly, Evil Cole having an entirely new moveset, filling in another spot? REALLY? I thought Superbot was avoiding clones entirely?

Last edit: Ok, so I forgot about the Columbia level. REALLY? We have Big Daddy, but we have a stage from the new Bioshock? Sigh....

Never said they didn't own the IP. I'm basing this mostly off of the fact that having Team Ico stuff in the game somewhere is an obvious no brainer (doesn't mean it has to be a playable character) and everything we know about the figurative dick sucking Sakurai has to do for certain franchises to get them in Smash Bros. This game just reeks of something SCEJ wouldn't be fully behind in the first place, hence the game not having much Japanese representation (thus far)

Alllllllll that being said I'm pretty confident there will be some kind of Team Ico representation in the game, most likely some stage mashup and/or item. My point was if there isn't I wouldn't be so quick to solely blame Superbot

Someone here said they could spend an entire week hyping a single character. Like day per day they reveal bits of info, leading up to the reveal of a character.

I'd swap Ratchet with Dante. That way, all of the Gamescom characters are from European games and the final reveals (NYCC?) are from American games.

That would make even more sense than it did to begin with, since so much has been leaked.

If they just sit on it and cover their ears and say "la la la we don't comment on rumors" the hype for this game is going to take a very heavy hit.

They need to put some info out that we don't know to keep us interested. A steady stream of detailed looks at characters, stages, modes, etc.

Pretty sure Lightning is going to be at TGS. All of the info we've been getting from Paul Gale and other sources just add up too directly. Remember, we had a pretty good idea about the roster of this game even before the leak. There's a good bit of info out there.

They might also use gamescom to reveal that 22nd character that needs to balance out Lightning, which would be their way of 'answering' the leak. It will make it look like the leak wasn't everything and that we should stay excited, even though it pretty much was and all they've got left in their hat is two characters that we kind of know about already.

If Cyborg Raiden is really in then I'm so happy.

Love Snake but this character was just too badass in MGS4.

If Snake is in too I'd probably flip.

Im gonna go ahead and imagine that Sony/Superbot probably wishes to at least even out the total's roster to the same amount of Smash Bros. Obviously they want to develope a competent and competitive fighter that can stand alone up to that of the Super Smash bros. series.

Which leads me to believe the final roster may likely reach around 24~26 characters.

Out of curiousity, I just counted the amount of selectable characters in SSB melee and Im pretty sure it was around that amount.

How cool would it be to have cyborg raiden as a character with
grey fox and olga gurlukovich
ninja costumes as his alternate costumes

You are dead wrong. Radec, Big Daddy, and Kratos are the opposite of Parappa too. Wander NEEDS to be in this game behind Cloud, Crash, and Spyro.

Really? Kratos isn't a serious character at all, he's ridiculously over the top to the point of parody. And while I liked Killzone 2, Radec wasn't what I'd call a particularly serious character either. Big Daddy was fairly serious, you're right, but he was also a peripheral and yet iconic character in Bioshock, so I'm mostly fine with him.

Wander though, was a very serious character with a pretty depressing story that's over and I really hate the idea of him becoming a mascot of something. Plus, I think the iconic part of SotC was actually the Colossi anyway, which is why I think a level would be the perfect representation of the game.

Honestly right now i'm probably just abit salty because I keep thinking about the characters that could have been included instead. It also does not help to read the Beta thread and no that I can't play it yet. :(

The other aspect is not entirely based solely on this game, I guess it's unrealistic of course but there was a part of me hoping that if they included characters from games like Legend of Dragoon, Alundra, Legend of Legaia, or other various dead Sony IPs that if the characters became popular enough then Sony would seriously consider making sequels to atleast one of them.

I realise that i'm probably just thinking about this game right now there is allot of nostalgia clouding my better judgement. It will probably subside atleast some if Superbot makes a statement.

Japanese first. English way after they were released.
And the lines sounded less weird in japanese because I don't understand more than a few words.
In english it sounds atrocious.

Can't agree.

Steve Burton does an amazing job as Cloud. The only time it's been an issue was Dissidia and that was because of direction and him trying to match the Japanese VA.

Though I do think his JPN Va is amazing as well.

I've played every released God of War game and how anyone could honestly think that Kratos is a deep or serious character frankly leaves me shocked/speechless.

No one says he is deep, but u seem to be against Wander because it cheapens the character. I fail to see how this wouldnt apply to Radec or Kratos.

Nor does it matter, seriousness is not the point, this game is about fun and repping Sony, and Wander does that.

If you're going with the "it doesnt make sense to add this character in" then we may as well throw the whole game out

Ushojax

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
It's odd that Raiden is in the game and not Snake. Snake a Smash Brothers exclusive?

Anyway, these stages all look incredibly bland, save the LocoRoco level. I mean, this:

I don't know what the hell your on about man, I've never once mentioned Wander in this entire thread.

In fact I could careless if he gets in or not because as I said earlier in the thread I will buy the game if it has Lightning or Cloud. Otherwise whatever Sony characters get in hold no appeal for me.

My bad, it was meant for Liquid

Yeah that Uncharted stage looks so dumb, but meh I'm super excited about this game anyways.

Edit:
Never played Uncharted 3?

http://geekrevolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/uncharted-3-plane.jpg

It's only the best scene in the entire game.
Sure, but that only works in that game, it makes 0 sense as a stage, I mean look at those trucks just floating there wtf

I have (it wasn't very good). The stage looks hideous whether it was in Uncharted 3 or not, these look like things you'd build in Brawl's stage editor.
Yes it was.

Anyway, It's more then likely that stage is animated and just looks odd in a static image (same for most of the pictures leaked). For all we know the stage could start inside the plane and progress all the way down to the desert.

UC3 not very good...haha, ok.

And isn't the Uncharted stage is supposed to be mashed together with Warhawk? Or was that bullshit? Would be fucking awesome.

That was in the pitch video when it was Title Fight. It was the train level from UC2, so unfortunately with this level being leaked, that level is likely out.

For the record I thought cloud's English voice acting was pretty good really. Not like he talks a lot anyways.

And that uncharted stage is one of the ones I ReALLY can't wait to see in action. same goes for Locoroco stage.

Either way come on SuperBot PR! Give us something

They're not floating, they're tied with ropes to the plane... You know, like it happened in U3?

Imagine the stage starts inside the plane, with the trucks inside as well serving as platforms, then all of the sudden the plane starts shacking, rips open a hole, door opens and trucks get blown off the plane dangling from a rope. Dunno about you, but that sounds pretty cool for a PABR stage to me.

a) You quoted the wrong person.
b) Radec and Kratos are cartoon characters. If you take Kratos seriously then I'm not sure what to say to you. I find him hilarious.
c) Wander is not what I'd call a fun character at all. He's pretty depressing actually. And really doesn't fit with being whored out because I'm pretty sure there isn't going to be a Shadow of the Colossus 2.

How it should work:

You start the Uncharted 3 stage on the trucks, catch the plane, fight in/on the plane as it crashes, then land in the Journey desert.
