Persona fans: What do you want out of Persona 5?

I doubt they will, but hopefully this time the world is fully connected. Like you can actually walk to places instead of the cursor moving you in between little closed off areas.

Marshuu I daren't read your post in case it's an Arena spoiler. Is it?

Also, to those people who say they don't want Amy rap in the game, I'd sooner have that than the travesty that is the Golden OST.

College setting. All new cast, more like Persona 4 than 3 in terms of dungeon, perhaps a nice extra optional dungeon that is big for grinding through for people who want larger dungeons, maybe a whole quest-line.

Shadow world having to do with the Internet. I think it's being set up nicely too.

Although that might mean using a smartphone to summon your persona....so not super great, lol.

It's not. It's a spoiler for Persona 2 instead. We're just joking about some of the more absurd elements of the plot. :D (I modified my post to make sure it was marked right.)

And hey. Shadow World is growing on me.... ;S

There were a billion committee VAs in 4 that you've probably heard a million times already.

The sign of a good dub is when the average man can't tell this fact. Nevermind the fact that Yosuke's role was virtually written for his act. :p

An actual town you can walk around in, rather than being mostly menu-based.

Interesting dungeon design, no more random dungeons.

Combat and persona fusion should stay roughly the same.

More robot girls.

Shadow World is okay. Time To Make History is sub-par. Everything Kitajoh did is amongst the weakest music in the franchise. No idea how they managed to make Snowflakes so good though.

I kinda want a more fleshed out town to explore.

You spend so much time in the same 3 or 4 screens of the town you live in and never end up going anywhere else.

something like the Yakuza games would be a pretty cool thing.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?

That would actually be really interesting, dunno what they would tie the "shadow" aspect into, or how it would be different enough from the 'consciousness of humanity' of Persona 4's shadow world.

But as to the original question, give me weapon types back, lighten up some of the randomness of persona fusing skills so I don't have to back out 40 times to get ziodyne in there, and that'd suit me just fine. More fleshed out city-map and sweet-ass graphics wouldn't hurt either.

Maybe making some of the daily stuff a bit more involved, or related to your persona choice, i.e. jobs giving more cash if you have a STR persona for a construction job or whatever. Make it a bit more interactive, but not too much.

Oh, and more Persona 3/4 cameos, though I'd definitely prefer a new cast.

Another given. I wouldn't be surprised if the town issue was limitations of the hardware. Didn't they expand Persona 4 Golden so that you can explore Okina City as well as Inaba at night?

High school needs to go. I want college. Rather than the flirtations with adult subject matter that P4 had, I would rather them go all the way with things, something I felt P4's high school trappings were forcing them to back away from.

Aside from that, I'm pretty happy with the game mechanics. More branches and influence within social links would be nice, but I'll take strong writing over anything else ultimately.

Not happening.

It would also mean more sex, something that wouldn't fly in Japan if it kept a Cero B rating.

The high school setting is not going away.

And for people pointing at Catherine, that was aimed at an older audience to begin with.

P3 filled the hypothetical college setting with dorm life anyway. The only difference an actual college setting would have is the characters say they're older and the campus might look cooler.

I would like:

- More interesting dungeon designs, if they're still random at least have possible randomized events on each floor and make the overall geometry and tiling feel more natural. Take cues from western random dungeon crawlers in terms of how they handle asset design for randomization, and apply the Atlus touch to it. That'll make it way better.

- More cute mascot animal party members. Cute and cool Personas, more robots. I love robots. Maybe there can be a cat-dog thing which makes cute Japanese sound effects as it talks, and the Persona can be a giant floating fortress manned by robotic Neko-Shoguns. Would be fucking awesome. The missiles they fire would have dog heads on them too.

- More extensive Social Link system. It'll be nice if they branched more, and actually had different possible conclusions both good and bad. I want relationships to feel more meaningful when you're dating, and more dynamic conflicts if you try to cheat on someone.

- Music by Lady Gaga. That's the only way to improve the soundtrack. Meguro is like a great DJ, and Lady Gaga is the voice and the creative injection the series needs to grow even more popular. Her style is a good mix for the Persona series anyway.

- More robust calendar system so you can plan activities better. It'll be nice to have a lot more possible activities in a given day too, to make it impossible to end up with days where you have "nothing" to do and just waste them away sleeping. Those are the parts of Persona where you start to feel it is filler. More meaningful activities would mean you don't feel that way.

Make it a digital release, and playable on both Vita and PS3. Keep the cost low damnit, because I think most of us at this point is ok with this.

Having minigames that uses the Vita while you're out would be cool too.

Oh and about story? High School setting with rival schools 'banchou' style.

Technically, it's teensy tiny though. It's literally just what you see when you visit with friends.

And Time To Make History is my least favourite Meguro battle theme.

The worst thing that could happen is a P3+P4 fanservice galore. Those games are incredible but I want new characters, locations and story approach. Personas should be the constant of the series. I would be OK with well hidden cameos as a post game reward. I also hope they keep the scale of the previous games. I like the neighborhood approach to location design and would hate them going bland, empty but vast open world.

The battle system could use some tweaks. Give me a way to manipulate the battle sequence (like FFX) and add some extra variables like position. I also want more elaborate bosses. P3's bosses were more fun than P4's. Give me gimmicky, multi-level, transforming bosses back.

I trust Atlus on story execution. My dream however would be them acknowledging the alienating nature their UI and game design have on the narrative and go for a epic theater approach rather than a classical.

Also no fucking 3DS, PSP or any other "we don't want to deal with shaders" devices.

Agreed on all account except for Lady Gaga. I can't tell if these Lady Gaga posts are serious or not.

*edit*

Waaaaaait a minute, not so sure about the last half of that second one.

The ability to split up and look for clues stuff would be very welcome to see return.

Well, I wouldn't exactly have expected them to set P4 in the middle of nowhere either...
You're probably right. :/

It would probably be better off staying in high school. Bring sex into the mix and you've got yourself a School Days on your hands (especially with how much of a pimp you can make these guys).

This is the best idea in the thread so far. It needs to happen.

Final boss of Persona 5 = NICE BOAT, confirmed!

I kinda trust Team Persona more than your average anime writer. Especially given this is the flagship series of a global company. They could fuck it up, but they could have fucked up having a story arc about a sexually confused high schooler who tells people to "get bent" coming to terms with himself more so, and they landed on their feet with that one.

Moreover, I think my point was no more sodding hugs. You don't have to show anything, just don't act all like they don't knock boots. Game has an M rating already.

I think Persona 5 will be a direct continuation and merge of Persona 3 and 4's story/characters, hopefully with the setting right as P4's characters enter college. Them as freshmen would mean P3's chars would be seniors, yeah?

I just can't imaging them going through the trouble of coming up with a story for P4A like they did without using it more.

Well I do love Koromaru, and there are robots in Persona so i suppose something like that is completely within reason.

Lady Gaga though.... No thanks.

-Faster Combat
-Full party control
-Bigger and more explorable city
-more deeper Date-sim element (incorporate tokimemo system if you can)
-lots of Costume/outfit/accesory for customization (just don't copy namco dlc practice)
-better and not boring dungeon, no random dungeon
-Japanese voice on international release

In America. In Japan, it's Cero B, which is like E10+ or a light T.

Keep the Scooby-Doo murder mystery aspect of P4, but maybe making it 'darker'.

Drop the dungeon crawling; instead battles occur after sundown?

Max party of 3 (including you)

Battles take place within the confines of the environment

Tone down the 'time limit' from P3 and P4.
