I'm about an hour in to Horn and the game is absolutely fantastic so far. Full of charm, great characters, great music, beautiful, and fun to play

I'm a bit upset that when one of the devs was here he said it would run on iPod Touch 4g, but the app description explicitly says it won't.

It certainly LOOKS cool. I guess hopefully by the time next-gen devices are released there will be a true consensus about if it's worth it.

I really apologize for any confusion. During the final days of development we had already done a lot of optimizations for lower devices but were still finalizing last issues so we didn't know exactly what we were going to be oficially supporting. At the same time I did not want to ignore the question at hand so I had hoped I didn't definitively say whether slightly older devices would work or not (which I apparently failed at)

If it matters at all, one of the TA users had the following to say about their experience with touch 4

"Just a public service announcement - I think "early devices are not supported" is more of a buyer beware type of deal since, well, it's running on my iTouch 4G. Low res, not Retina, and none of the fancy FX, obviously - looks something like a mid-period Playstation 2 title (like a kind of blurry Haven: Call of the King, maybe). Note that I've only played a few minutes in! "

Thanks for the speedy reply. I'm really interested in Horn, as it looks really cool.

I plan on buying a next-gen device when they become available, so perhaps I'll just go ahead and give it a shot on the Touch. Couldn't hurt anything.

Thanks again, I hope this is a big success for Phosphor.

My son just dropped my ipad and there is a nice crack in the screen going across it - will apple repair it if it's still under warrenty?

Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
Finally finished The Heist, got my free Eets Steam code, heh.

Accidental damage. They're not suppose to I believe but you should go in anyway. They might be nice and replace it on the spot.

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
Starbase Orion still grabs me, played a "quick" 2 hour game. What an excellent game.

The long awaited feature Diplomacy is slated for the next 1.1.7 update to boot!

Downloaded & read the help manual last night (well.... Most of it.....) and will give it a try tonight! :D

Can you guys add me for Gasketball?

GC: Hey, Johnny Park!

Hey dude!

Can't seem to progress with our game on Gasketball (my GC is ctb0503) - it shows you playing my shot, then I get your message about cheating (nope), then it crashes to dash. No idea if it's possible to abandon the game, or if it's any different from your end, but it's definitely annoying.

$5 I believe. Everyone should buy it and come play with us in the iOS BG thread, where we're setting up a Summoner Wars tournament. One of the top 5 games on iOS imo.

I really like what I played of the trial and I've enjoyed Nightfall too. I might pick up Ascension as well. It seems like Playdek has some quality iOS titles.

Hail to the KING baby
Yep they are all pretty great. I would rank them:

-Summoner Wars
-Ascension
-Nightfall (bit more of an acquired taste, but still fun)
-Food Fight (OK I don't super like this one though it does have awesome card art)

Everyone buy SW and play in our tournament :D
if we get enough people playing maybe i'll come up with some random prize

Kingdom Rush is kicking my ass, which makes the game a love/hate thing. I LOVE that the game is fun and that it's challenging, but I HATE feeling terrible at the game, haha.

I've completed the iPad version, trying to finish off everything on normal... also in process of finishing the iPhone version too. Need moar levels! Or the sequel, whichever one they can give me quickest.

The only negative is that it takes so long for all the towers to be fully upgradeable, you unlock them slowly and it still limits them once you go back.

They didn't add a "hard" difficulty as they said it was too difficult as it is but perhaps they could have done something with the earlier levels to mix them up a bit.

Its an incredible game though, I love it.

I'll try and quit and restart a new one. For some reason all of my previous shots they show you not making it but it says you did.

Oh man, Horn is great. Beautiful graphics, great VA and fun combat. Only played for like half a hour, but colour me impressed so far.

ok Puzzle Craft is pretty awesome. super addicting and it looks like IAP isnt really necessary to progress

Yeah? Maybe I'll give it a go then. I was hearing that it did that thing where you'll run out of currency so you can't play it until it replenishes every few hours.

I'm totally fine with that in freemium games, but it seems a bit shit to charge money for the game and then still restrict it that way. Maybe TA were overreacting.

Yeah, it's only possible to run out of money if you do it on purpose. I've only been playing an hour and have 500 gold, and it costs 30 gold to do the farming (play a level), which you can sell the items from for more than the cost of entry if you needed gold for some reason. Plus all your buildings give you items and things to get more gold. Seems very fun.

Opinions at TA are way more positive now. I'm enjoying the game.

TA usually freaks out if there is ANY IAP.

In my humble opinion it's shit even on a freemium game. lol

This. Really really have enjoyed it.

Haven't been 1% tempted to buy iap yet but it might be fucked iap wise once I get deeper I don't know.

I've got to level 12 so far and have never felt any pressure to use IAP. The IAP seems to be just if you don't want to go mining/farming for stuff then you can spend coins instead, but seeing as that's pretty much the entire point of the game I don't see why you wouldn't go do it. It's pretty good fun. There's no "speed up this by paying bux!" elements to the game, which is what I hate most about IAP-based titles. As far as I can see you could play this constantly, you'd just be grinding (ie playing the matching game) more.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a damn about what TA thinks? Aren't they known for taking bribes for positive reviews?

Also, are there any good fighting games for the iPad? Street Fighter IV is for the smaller screened devices only :(

Wow, Puzzle Craft looks like a mix between a farmville game and Dungeon Raid, I HAVE to download it now. That and all the praise. Is that about how it plays? Dungeon Raid with extra city/kingdom building and crafting around it?

Just let you know for jailbreaker users.

Blutrol 2.0 out not long ago.

You now can play some app with iCade, BT keyboard, iControlPad, wiimote, JS1 or PhoneJoy.

Pretty much. Can't think of a better definition.

With Dominion AWOL and Thunderstone crossed off my iOS playlist, and for only $1, I picked up Food Fight. I can't help but think Playdek's talents were wasted on this flawed game. Of course the app has all the polish of Playdek's other games. However, while Food Fight itself at first seems to be a fun lightweight war-esque game, it has a number of design choices that I really don't like (the whole dog mechanic). Probably worth the buck but nothing more.

Are there really people out there who don't have Ascension yet? Or Summoner Wars for that matter? :)
