Are we debating which of two Harvard Law graduates had the more privileged upbringing or a better chance in life? I'd say from the point they graduated, it's a draw - both a multi-millionaires, one was a governor, one is President. What's the point?

She was a plant from the beginning.

lol

...with a Harvard Law degree...

So privileged! What a spoiled, arugula eating possibly foreign born, European wanna be, maybe muslin!

Kennedy absolutely bought that election. I once heard a radio interview with someone from West Virginia who had to deliver a certain county's votes for Kennedy. The Kennedy bagman asked how much it was going to cost.
"$2000."
"$2000 a vote, got it."
"Nope, $2000 for the whole county." And that, my friends, is West Virginia through and through. Even our corruption is small-time and poor.
I don't doubt that both parties probably paid polling places to count the votes in their favor- LBJ probably did the same in a few areas in Texas much as he did to get elected to the Senate in 1948. That is a different question from A) whether the quantities involved were large enough to swing the election, and B) whether Cook County in particular stole the election by having a huge number of dead people vote, which is the popular myth, and what I was addressing in particular in this case.

If you know if a critical examination which shows this to be the case let me know. I'm open to the possibility, I've just never seen the case presented with much more than hearsay. "I heard from a guy on the radio" is probably not the standard of evidence you want to use to say he "absolutely bought the election"

One was raised in a house where his parents had hundreds of millions of dollars to their name and their dad was a governer, presidenitial candidate, and in the cabinet of a president.

The other was raised by his grandparents in a tiny apartment with a barely middle class life style.

Trying to dismiss that vast difference is absurd.

Also after they graduated Obama was pretty damn poor still. He worked as community organizer. A job with very little pay. It wasn't till 2004 till he became semi-rich when Dreams From My Father came out of obscurity (it didn't do well in it's initial release) and became a best seller.

So Obama has been rich for 8 years. Romney has been rich for 65 years. Yeah, same thing. And in terms of being rich Romney is over 20x as rich as Obama is.

Actually, according to republicans, Obama had never had a real job, so the bolded doesn't count. Obama was jobless until he came became president!

My friend is always raving about how awesome Indy is and wants me to try and move down there. I hate the rest of that state, though I'm sure Indy is cool.
Hey, I'm there, so you know it's cool!

As long as you stay south of Indy there really isn't anything to hate. Pretty boring place all in all with lots of good land cheap.

The unions stuff happened for the most part before I got here. Mitch had already broken them, the opposition to right to work was mostly illusory.
I'm going to assume you meant south of the Indianapolis area...because I live in a north suburb :(

PS. That "Republican party direction" thread has taken a turn for the weird...

I sure hope no one reminds Reince Preibus of his 2 years at BI and the 3 years as an associate lawyer at Miner, Barnhill & Galland. That might cause his head to implode.

1977 New York Times article mentioned Business International as one of the lesser known of 22 news organizations found to have employed journalists who were also working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).[6] Elliott Haynes "said his father, Eldridge Haynes, had provided cover for four C.I.A. employees in various countries between 1955 and 1960

Excerpts from Ann Romney's speech

http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns...neys-speech-no-storybook-marriage-133568.html

Very important speech IMO, we have to see what kind of viewership it gets. She can definitely help Romney with the whole Empathy gap. Even though, when 5 kids were screaming at her, there were probably 10 rooms to put them in for timeout.

I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a “storybook marriage.” Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer.
Lol im sure raising those kids was hard in the mansions they had.

I understand that going through cancer and MS is tough but Ann Romney has no idea what its like for normal Americans to get those diseases and to know you dont have the money to pay for the treatment. The romneys never had to worry about money ever. They just don't know what its like to be a normal citizen.

Yeah....i don't like Ann Romney. I have compassion for anyone who has suffered illness, but that doesn't mean i have to like the person when she rallies for her husband to be president who wants to repeal Obama's health care, as flawed as it is, and replace it with, well, nothing.

Fuck the GOP.

Hey, they just hate blacks and gays and women and foreigners and poor people and children and science and thats their opinion and they're entitled to and it's okay if you disagree with their perspective. No need for such harsh language. Seems like someone has some growing up to do.

I didn't know I was proving election fraud in a court of law. Perhaps I can ask the folks at Grandma's nursing home for their recollections next time I visit (properly notarized, of course).

Are we really arguing whether Chicago politics was successfully dirty? Next we'll be wondering whether the Mafia is involved in the hotel business.

I also find it funny he mentioned the whole private industry is doing fine thing, even though Romney said nearly the same thing a few days ago...
