Game Informer Revealing GTA V in November

A wii u gta v exclusive or timed exclusive would absolutely destroy any game announcement in the history of gaming, and render the next generation of consoles much more interesting then a xbox 720 or ps4 with no shit gotcha copy and paste wii u controls.

That being said, not happening, lol.

I want GTA V. But if we're all going to suggest other R* games then I want Manhunt 3.
Manhunt 2 was made?

In my opinion an April/May release doesn't sound that strange all of a sudden. I'm really hoping for it. October 2013 would be far too long!

I remember San Andreas released just as the HDTV thing was taking off, had myself a lovely new 720p samsung set for my Xbox 360, but it made San Andreas on my Xbox look like shit... hopefully we won't end up in similar situation whereby the game gets released on old hardware just as the new hardware is getting released.

At least we won't all have new 4k sets just yet =0)

Yeah. PS2, PSP, and Wii if you can believe that.

EDIT: Looks like the release date is getting revealed in the GI issue as well!

http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/10/13/gta-v-lockdown-after-news-shared/

Hopefully it's a legit street date and not a month/window. Not getting too excited, myself. Maybe, post release date guesses again?

People on GTAForums are calling fake on that, is there the original source of the message? (the release date one).

EDIT: Yup, a fake:

That's disappointing, but it makes total sense. I thought it was shocking and weird they'd put the date in a magazine. Thanks. I do still expect a release window in GI (maybe even mentioned before that, during 2K next financial call) and the game to release before the end of May.

Yup. That means R* would now have roughly about 6/7 months left to complete GTAV. Sounds totally reasonable to me.

I really can't wait to see GI's December Issue. Too bad I can't buy an actual example here in the Netherlands. After all this time of radio silence, I can't believe there will be new info soon. Maybe I can buy the magazine for iPad.

You can.

We'll have to hear what they say at the T2 investors conference on the 30th.
Do they still consider 2012 as a 1.8bln year or not?

Yup. That means R* would now have roughly about 6/7 months left to complete GTAV. Sounds totally reasonable to me.

Well, it really depends on two major factors, the way i see it:

1) How far into the development they are:
A year ago they were in "full development" (so i assume not Alpha stages) and they haven't shown shit to us, aside from basically the map and some pedestrians, so we don't know how much work they have to do.
At least the graphics looked pretty fucking polished and amazing, for a 360/ps3 freeroam.

2) How packed with content the game is:
I know it won't be as packed as a San Andreas with everything they can think of, for the simple reason that everything is 10 times more complex to realize, in terms of fidelity, physics etc etc, yet i'm sure they don't want another GTAIV on their hands; depending on how much stuff they put in the game, these 4 or 5 years of development couldn't even be enough, with the timeframes we've seen this gen.

Do you think it will come on PC near the same time as consoles? or will PC players have to wait an extra year to play GTA V on GFWL? (XBOX WINDOWS!)

I'd expect GTA V to release on PC at the same time or within a few weeks. It makes sense to have a huge PR campaign that covers both the console and PC versions rather than different PR campaigns. The Housers mentioned something along those lines years ago about the DLC releasing close to the final product.

Andy Mc has been not so cryptically tweeting we'll hear something about a release date in the GI issue.

Not gonna happen, Bruv.

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
Hope they have some news on the soundtrack, always my favorite thing to read about whenever there's a new GTA reveal. I'm expecting a dubstep station :p

Resolution and frame rate alone is all it takes but Rockstar never goes the extra mile like other companies.
I think we can expect the Max Payne 3 treatment. High-res textures + DX11 on PC. :)

At least there is hope that Rockstar have understood what PC gamers expect from their games, PC only features are always welcomed.

I would've normally bought it on PS3 but now that I've got a gaming PC I can only hope for it to come out on PC too. It would be glorious. Also I would finally be able to play the GTA campaign with mods in place probably. I never play the campaign twice.

All the major GTA games have been on PC, why would GTA 5 be any different ?

Because I always get GTA day one. It's one of the only games I can't wait to get my hands on, so I always get it day 1. I'm not waiting a week let alone a 6 months to play the game. Sure in the end I'll get it on PC just to mess around with mods if I'm not bored of it then. What I meant was that I hoped it would come out on PC at the same time as the PS3/Xbox or max 1 month away (which will make me hurt big time too).

I bought GTA4 like 5 times anyway, so i'll be double dipping if it's severely delayed on PC.

Exact same for me too. I beat it on 360, PS3 and PC. I'll probably do the same with GTA V on every platform it releases on.

Still, I hope that Rockstar took this long so that it releases on consoles and PC around the same time.

Anyone know what Rockstar Toronto and Rockstar Leeds are working on?

Agent.

I actually have no idea.

I remember them saying that all their teams, at some point, worked on Max Payne 3.
I'm sure that's true for GTAV aswell.

GTAV being a much bigger project, i don't know if it'll receive the same care MP3 did, on PC.

I was always divided between Vice City and San Andreas. As a theme, I liked Vice city better, with the 80's atmosphere, the sunny beaches, the music and just the whole time era in general. San Andreas had the better landscape though. It wasn't all flat like Vice City, but it had hills, mountains (Chiliad!), and a beautiful country side. However, I didn't like the whole urban/hip-hop setting. It's just not my thing.

I hope we will ever see a new GTA in the future that is again based in the 80's time era. But I'm not counting on it :(

Im in the same boat. I really wanted to like the 90's West Coast aesthetic of San Andres, but the game just had to much stuff to do and just felt too big.

Yup it's been a problem since then. Give me a GTA Vice City scale city, with more to do inside it and more interaction, than just expanding the scale and having these big useless set pieces.

Don't listen to this man R*, he needs to stick to corridor shooters! Add all the stuff you want!

They were far from "big and useless".

Define useless? San Andreas had a ton of shit to do. Also it's not like the cities felt rushed either. They were pretty detailed for the time (at least I thought so).

There's no reason why we can't have bigger scale and more stuff to do. That's why San Andreas nailed it in my opinion, because it was vast but it was so fun to explore and there was so much stuff to do. RDR has been the only game to come close to the sense of immersion that SA offered... just driving through the countryside in the rain or flying through the desert in a jet felt magical.

I think that's what most people missed from GTAIV and, if anything, IV is the perfect example of Rockstar trying to create a super dense and detailed environment and failing to fill it with exciting things to do.
