Does anybody have any suggestions for an impressive iOS game, graphics-wise?
Preferably optimized for the 5.

Galaxy On Fire II HD, Lili (haven't made it too far), Infinity Blade (gameplay leaves much to be desired), and Phoenix HD (such a beautiful bullet hell).

Is lili any good, thinking about buying it for my iPad. What do you do in the game?

You run around a little town, speak with villagers and buy supplies, chase and fight spirit baddies buy swiping at the screen, find treasure, so on. Compared to the likes of Infinity Blade and (it's knock off Death Dome) you have more freedom to move around, explore and move the camera. Graphics are beautiful too. Have yet to make it far, so I'm not sure how repetitive the game is.

By the way, anyone else find the controls in Carmageddon pretty bad? Maybe its's just me.

I know I'm repeating myself but I feel like a complete idiot having waited so long before buying Elder Sign Omens.
If you are a Lovecraft fan, just get it.

After having completed all the campaigns (really just different difficulties) of the vanilla game I bought the first expansion, the Chtulhu one, and it's freaking amazing.
New gameplay dynamics, new setting, new quests, new characters, whole new story and cutscenes...I love it, especially the second part.
It's, as expected, MUCH harder...but so satisfying....in my last game I was close, soooo close.

Fantasy Flight Games is my new top dev for board games (too bad the game is solo and not universal).

Based on your recommendation I took a look-and it looks cool! I'm downloading now...no Gamecenter achievements though....grrrrr.

Anyone else playing Pocket Clothier? Curious about what you think. My impression about ~9 years in is that it's middle-of-the-road. It's better than some of the low-tier Kairosoft releases like Edo Towns & Cafeteria Nipponica, but it's obviously not close to Mega Mall...

Hi GDJustin, thank for your work (I like the channel, I wish it had more content tough but I understand resources are limited).

Can I ask you something (I promise, last time)?
Can the mighty IGN brand have some news from Ubisoft about some announced-then-gone-missing games?
Specifically: Clash of Heroes and Ghost Recon.

Thanks!!!

I'll ask Ubisoft about the missing games this week.

Yeah no GC, no Universal, no async multiplayer...but I can't help but love the game nonetheless.
I'm struggling against Cthulhu now...trying different characters in the party.

As much as I hate angry birds, bad piggies is awesome. Also Rayman jungle run is probably my favorite purchase thus far, I've 100% the first 20 levels. It's really a must buy for 3$.

All the Kairosoft talk makes me want to try another of their games. I've only played Game Dev before, which is the best of the ones on iPad? Looks like I can choose from medieval, the new clothing one, and a restaurant one.

I was thinking about going with an iCade Core, because it allows you to put the iPad in vertically or horizontally (Metal Slug 3 is the main game I want that would benefit from a horizontal positon), but the regular iCade looks so awesome, I think it might be worth the tradeoff. How many other games benefit from being played in landscape?

Speaking of Metal Slug 3, can you play it in portrait mode?

EDIT: Never mind; just found out you can slot the iPad in horizontally in the regular iCade as well. :)
I have the 8-bitty, which is the gamepad version of the icade. Works great with MS3, though there's a little trick where you need to start up your game, hit the home to exit, and go back in right away for it to detect the controller properly. You can not play the game in portrait mode BTW.

I have to do that same trick for MS3 with the original iCade too.

Does anybody here have an iCade?

I'm really tempted to buy one, but I'd like to get some impressions from GAFfers first.

I've actually got a list of games that are compatible with it that I've been keeping track of. I don't have the link on here but I'll post it in here once I can. It needs updated also so I'll do that first.

I'm addicted to Carmageddon. Probably won't stop until I get all the cars unlocked.
Unfortunately there is some nasty bug that causes you to lose all of your progress. I was having a lot of fun with it and then BOOM all that time gone. All the remedies I found for retrieving the save didn't work. Anyone know how to recover saves?

Puzzle Saga and Zookeper Battle if you like match-3

Thanks will check out Puzzle Saga...once I can get my new debit card to work on iTunes =_=.
...and metal slug 3 is on iOS? ...and for $7? I'd pay THAT much for a good port of it on PSN...but that's another story.

Anyone mention Borderlands Legends in this topic yet?

The news breaking tonight is a leak. Look for a good bit of coverage (including footage) later this week on IGN (and presumably other sites).

Okay, that right there scares me because this museum is already challenging enough.

Well I partially take back the MUCH harder difficulty.
It is hard but not impossbile as I first thought: yesterday on my third try if I didn't made a glaring dumb error at the very end I would have completed it.
The final part is super satisfying and the added mechanic is awesome.
Granted, I did the almost perfect game till the very end but I was soooo close...I'll try it again later.

To me it feels like a permadeath mini RPG without explicit dialogues.
I love that, contrary to almost every game, when you fail an encounter, next try is HARDER...so it's better never rely on chance...the game would be impossible.
It perfectly captures the sense of danger and 'always on the brink of dying' of the p&p game.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Played some Zookeeper Battle fights last night, like ten or less, lost a couple. Game is fun but do items make it unfair or anything, that would suck if you lose just because people bought items (or are those boosts only purchasable via in game stuff and IAP is for cosmetics?).

The boosts aren't really *boost* boosts. They rearrange tiles or give colour back to the tiles, but that's it. There's no health etc. afaik.
