Game Informer Revealing GTA V in November

I really want a GTA game where you can hide in buildings, and cops enter looking for you. Then you jump out of a building running again.

Would be cool instead of cops being dumb.

That happens in IV. If you enter your safe house they'll enter and begin climbing the stairs. If you save it removes the wanted level.

It's tough to do it on the reg though considering there's like 5 buildings you can enter in the whole game and they're all tiny as hell.

Bigger buildings with intuitive shootouts would be awesome.

lol, i once had piles of dead cops in my safe house. they'd just keep coming and coming until i ran out of grenades and shotgun ammo :D

edit: 18 pages? woah. that's too much! i don't want to know all the details about the game before playing it.. i guess i have to just not read it. yeah right :(

not a graphics thing. A game like GTA would be great to show off new technologies, specially in sandbox games. Better AI, more detailed world, etc. We'll just have to wait for 6

Rockstar needs to get the "Controls while out of car aren't crap" technology down before it works on anything else :/ Love the games, but damn on foot is clumsy.

Rockstar is good at giving details but not spoiling anything. Look at some of the surprises in San Andreas.

I'm probably the Buzz Kilington of this thread but I'd rather have a 60-second trailer than an 18-page pr-approved article.

It's a videogame - show me a video.

While I agree that plenty of preview articles are basically worthless PR fluff, I'm stoked at the outlook of reading such a comprehensive article on GTA 5. My Android tablet is unlocked & loaded to buy the next issue as soon as it arrives on the digital shelves ;)

The GI cover story blowout for GTA V has been an inevitability from day 1. It should have happened several months ago. I'm just glad it finally is.

True. But we've been in the dark for quite a while. Something is better than nothing. And I think this is the beginning of a steady stream of information.

You're not alone SJ, but Rockstar keeps such a tight lid on their games before release I'll take anything I can get. When it comes to R*, there ain't shit getting out hasn't been carefully constructed to help build positive hype for the game.

They're alright in RDR, so i'm sure they're be even better in GTAV.

Anyway, 18 pages sounds great, what was GTAIV, like 10 pages?

Trailers are PR approved too. :p
Besides, it's not an either/or proposition, they HAVE to release a trailer 2 at some point, probably right in November.

Urban, if you search for 'NeoSeeker Forums GTA IV Scans' on Google it's all still there miraculously. It's about 8 pages. (I would post the link, but I don't know if it's allowed to link to scans even if they're from the past. I don't wanna get banned :) )

But indeed, 18 pages. Oh my god. Can't wait to check this out!!!! Nice to see that they can't wait to share the info :) November 8th is so far away, yuck!

Can you vouch for that? ;)

I already asked you through PM, but how do you know all this? Or in other words: who are you? :D

Yep... I also believe trailer #2 is going to release Nov 2. Going to make the GI story that much harder to wait for.

They could but they were really tightlipped about IV and I don't expect that policy will change much.

They released 4 trailers for IV and the last one was because it was delayed.

I don't see them releasing only 2 trailers from November ---> April/May. 5-6 months for 2 trailers? Nah bra.

Just hope GTAV gets a better music themes fo the RADIO stations. GTA4 radio was crap, hate to compare but Saints Row 2 music was so much better , in fact SR2 felt better in overall.

I would love to see county areas an small towns as San Andreas , being inside a city all time ( no matter how huge it is ) feels repetitive.

Yeah, i figured it was around that number.
Sounds like they have a ot of stuff to talk about.
My guess is the GI spread will be the last we hear about the game until 2013.

We'll get Trailer #2 at the end of January.
First the October 2013 release date, now this.
Dude..

Also i hope for on-foot music, put an mp3 player or something, but it's horrible to be in a long epic shootout, without music, compared to RDR or Max Payne 3 especially.

Really? I thought IV had a fantastic radio. It didn't have the nostalgia factor or a well known era of music to rally around like Vice City and San Andreas did, but I think it still had a nice variety of good music, both expected and completely unexpected.

I remember The Journey helped get me into electronic/dance music a few years ago (where the DJ was just the voice from Apple's PlainTalk software :lol). And Vladivostok FM playing all that European pop music? Brilliant.

Yeah the music was the worst of any GTA game by far. I don't know if it's because 4 was set in modern times so most of the music was relatively recent or they just had shit taste for this game but it definitely needs an improvement.

If I'm correct Dan and Lazlow wrote all the stations together in IV. I only listen to Integrity 2.0, WKTT, and LRR. I still think Vice City had the best stations. And I always love Lazlow.

I thought the talk radio stations were pretty bad as well. Not enough content.

The Journey*, JnR, and K109 were all tops.

The rest was hit or miss.

* There's nothing better than an existential computer DJ.

Wrong, as usual.

Yep, they do. From Rockstar's website:

"All radio and TV stations, commercials, DJ dialogue, jingles and station imaging written by Dan Houser and Lazlow".

I will always be impressed by that. There's so much stuff in there, it's crazy that they write all of that. And that's not even touching on the main plot or the side missions.

I thought the talk stations were pretty good. Not the absolute best of the series, but a lot of it was funny. I loved the two station setup, one super liberal and one super conservative. Perfect reflection of the split in American media and politics :lol

Integrity 2.0 wasn't bad, but I think overall I enjoy Lazlow in the series more when he has a studio show. His longer interviews that they come up with are hilarious. I prefer those over the shorter "on the street" material on Integrity 2.0.

Yeah ever since San Andreas they started the whole multiple shows per talk station. I prefer Lazlow when he has one station to himself. He's like a staple to the franchise now. I liked that they gave him back an entire station in IV. Still, not as good as Chatterbox FM in GTA 3.

I never really paid much attention to the talk radios until recently, when GTA3 came out i was young and my english was near non existant, so i couldn't really understand much, Around the time SA came out i was better at it, but still with no subtitles it wasn't easy, especially while keeping the focus on the driving.
So i can't really compare, but yeah what i heard from GTA4 can be hit or miss, that goes for TV and Internet, too.

Some stuff is brilliant, some is very very low brow (Krapea).

Also, i think Lazlow is more deeply involved with R* than simply writing the funny radio stuff, he talked on O&A about going to Brazil to record dialogues for Max Payne 3.

You're right. I've heard him talk on Opie & Anthony before about helping cast voice actors as well as directing them in the studio. He also writes smaller stuff in their other games (like the newspapers and silent film shorts in Red Dead).

There's a great talk by Lazlow on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkqvMqF3BNI) about the American media, journalism, pop culture and how it all ties into what he and R* do with GTA. It's really neat and makes me appreciate all the satire and humour they put in there. It's a big part of GTA's appeal for me personally.

I feel you, Fjordson. I love it when games have a statement/commentary to make or provoke thought. I like that in any medium, really.

I'm pretty sure we will get a trailer right before or right after the GI info blowout

GI seem to have trailers with a lot of there stuff, but Rockstar will prob release it earlier

Dude come on. Isley Brothers, LCD Soundsystem, Jean-Michel Jarre, Philip Glass(!!!), David McCallum, Lazzarus... 4 had a great soundtrack. Probably the best of any of the games.
