New DmC: Devil May Cry preview, pretty positive

I am telling you guys PC version is going to be the way to go.

60fps
Vergil playable
Full Bloody Palace
Extra DLC secret missions
All costumes including OG Dante
Taunts
Turbo mode
LDK mode

Or they'll release it Vanilla and then forget to update it for a year or so, as with most of Capcom's PC offerings that aren't fighting games.

Yamato for Dante is about as freely available as an angel or demon weapon is in DmC. I didn't double count Yamato for Nero, as far as I am concerned he has only 2 weapons.

Yamato should be counted for Dante since we're talking about end game. And Dark Slayer style looks to have just as many options as Arbiter so far, so I'd say it counts.

I very much disagree, but I won't pursue it further. I've learned not to sidetrack the threads. The arsenal in DmC is a decent and respectable amount. 5 melee weapons and 3 firearms is just fine.

Also, Bloody Palace is in the game. It's just under a new name. I'm the assuming
Furnace of Souls is the new BP mode.

Don't jump to conclusions. That's you set yourself up for disappointment.

Yesterday Capcom released a new DmC trailer, below, that left some fans wondering whether Dante's posh, Fedora-wearing brother Virgil was a playable character. Jones confirmed this is not the case.

"I want to be definitive," he said. "He's not playable in the game. I don't want to be coy about that and have people think they're getting one thing when they're getting another."

Isn't that always the case? Unfortunately being a peasant makes it (PS3 version or) not at all.

Most of that seems fairly probable.

He's not available in the launch version, and I doubt he would be in the PC version at launch too, but I think they will eventually release a Vergil DLC at some point. If Enslaved is an indication, we'll see a unique scenario with him.

Oh of course, releasing Vergil as DLC is easy money. All Ninja Theory had to do was cut him out of the base game.

I thought that was Japan only.

Europe is getting too.

Oh yeah, I have no doubt about that. But if do it like they did with Vergil in DMC3, then i'll be pissed. I'm hoping NT do something special with Vergil. Enslaved's Pigsy DLC was pretty great and it was unique from the main game. So I'm hoping they'll do something special for him.

New control scheme
The more modern control scheme no longer requires you to contort your fingers to do a simple attack.

New weapon changing system

I really can't see how haters can disagree with the addition of this system, it makes weapon changing immediate and natural, you don't have to move your thumb over to the dpad anymore and cycle through weapons.

What are you exactly comparing these to? because they're plain wrong.

The game looks very good, and I really love the variety of the environments. I can't wait to play the demo. With this and Rising it seems like it's gonna be a good period for the lovers of action games.

Why not? It certainly works for the Resident Evil series. We got three major RE games just this year. Even though only two of them were good and made by Capcom themselves, ORC sold extremely well (over 2 million) despite being a poor game. Much more so than other past RE spinoff games. My point is, diversifying the franchise is doable for Capcom.

I'm sure they can pull off something like that for DMC. The difference being the newer game is actually going to be good.

I'm sure that will make your bosses proud.

Ninja Theory's not even handling the porting of the PC version. It'll probably be bare bones. I smell another Dark Souls fiasco.
60 fps say that it will probably not be as bad. DMC4 PC version is by far the definitive version and Capcom has been pretty decent with PC Ports this gen.

The guys working on the port have done the PC releases of SSFIV Arcade, SFxT, and RE: ORC - and those games were great on the PC. So this game is in good hands.

Anyone who actually thinks this game is going to be enjoyable is setting themselves up for disappointment. This game is going to be torturous to play through just like the rest of Ninja Theory's games and the sales will reflect that.

Doubtful. Only people that care about the developers are hardcore fans posting on message boards. It's been getting positive reviews, the last game was well received, and the brand is pretty strong. This game will do well.

Eh. I'm not too fond of NT's other stuff, and I doubt this'll live up to DMC3 or Bayonetta, but it at least looks like it'll be a decent game.

The game looks like a fun ride. I probably won't Day 1 the game but I will get it eventually. Presentation looks top notch. Unless the demo impresses the hell out of me...we'll see.

They release a special edition next gen or wiiu but i don't know if that can do 60 fps.

Finished the original DMC for the first time. Excellent game all around. Went to DMC2 right after and whelp, Ninja Theory is going to really have to try and make a game that plays worse than that.

You can literally literally literally hold the target and gun fire buttons and beat the entire first chapter. Not sure I want to continue.

I still can't get over how, "edgy" this game is trying to be...if the reviews are really good, I'll pick it up when it's on sale down the road maybe.

Why is it anymore edgy than the last 4 beyond dante's haircut? Music is still metal, and back when the first one came out in 2001, the shaggy tom cruise magnolia/vanilla sky haircut was equally as edgy.

The numerous expletives, sexual content, social commentary, Dante's demeanor and the various comments by the developers suggests that this game is giving DMC a "hard edge". Although we have been over this so many times its hardly news.

Apparently, the game is going to be censored in Japan.

What gives, no bloody palace? That was awesome in DMC4.

It's there, but under a new name.

It's a terrible edge, though. Everytime i see some shit about "OBEY/OBESITY/MASS-MEDIA CONTROL/FUCK YOU" social commentary tripe, it's like they got interns in from the local 6th-form socialology department to write the themes of the game.
