i was hoping for both mechanics when escaping the cops, there would be circles that you had to avoid to lose them or if they are really grinding on your car, you could take down their vehicles and your stars would lower down.
I might actually buy the digital issue on Thursday for the cover story. It's crazy, I literally can't remember the last time I bought any sort of magazine.
Yeah, I did like that. That flashing circle on the minimap worked I think because you could tell when you were actually making progress as far as getting away.
Agree. Even stuff like the helicopter having more sight range so having to drive fast round buildings and drive under a bridge or covered area added to the fun of escaping the cops.

Also from the first trailer the guy talking sounds like he had already been heavily involved in a life of crime so where does the Breaking Bad influence come from? Walt only got into that life as he thought he was dying and needed to make a lot of money very quickly.

I would hate for there to be two protagonist. I hope it's fake.
That sounds strange this being R* surely you'd have to go to a specific location. Like your house or something. If they were implementing that.
Naw it would cool.
Opens up much more interesting possibilities.

It would be weird playing as two separate protagonist. I guess it'll all depend on how it's handled.
I can see it now. As it turns to dusk your character is riding round the desert roads, the dirt flying around his tires. California Dreamin' on the radio

I think it was handled pretty well. In the episodes from Liberty City.
This sounds like it maybe a condensed and refocused version of that so instead of having their own standalone games the characters maybe cross paths throughout the game

But I had to stealth edit, 'cause it'd be sort of weird when I think about it. San Andreas is basically California's replacement in the GTA universe.
Come to think of it, I wonder if any songs in San Andreas referenced California. Like some of the classic hip-hop or something. I can't remember.

Multiple protagonists (I mean 4/5) would be great.
GTA games have always stretched out their narratives too far. GTA 4 is the perfect example of this.
Lost and Damned and Gay Tony were much better from a narrative perspective becauseof the length of the stories.
Make GTA 5 a game of four or five characters, each of their arcs lasting a few hours.

well they could start out with the older guy, living the high life so as to differentiate with past gta games. then after a few missions he could crossed paths with the other protag and that's when you take control of him. i hope it's like that.
The summer screenshots clearly shown multiple playable characters.

So once you take over, the other protagonist story is done and you don't go back. Or do you want to option to switch in between throughout the game?

I think being able to switch at any time could potentially break something with the story or whatever. I'm guessing some sort of control over it or making the switch (or switches) at predetermined spots in the narrative is how they'll do it (if they are doing it).
The only thing that makes me doubt all that is like...what if the screenshots showing different characters are just from multiplayer? Maybe you'll have a ton of customization for your multiplayer characters so that's why they've been able to show different looking people in different screenshots.

I expect it to be something like IV and the episodes on a smaller scale. 3 stories that cross at some point.
Somebody suggested you might play as that police chick at some point. Would be fantastic.
i think i like what dabanton said about going home to switch characters. or like have a mechanic where you're calling the other one on your phone to switch up.
of course in missions too, when they're together you can choose who to play as and then you get like a reward for that specific character if they go that route. (uh oh, coop incoming)

Rockstar have their games media on YouTube separated into playlists, as you can see here. The 360 YouTube app apparently indicates that their GTAV playlist was updated today, despite no apparent change. People are speculating that Rockstar have uploaded trailer 2 to the playlist, but it is set to private so we can't see it until they flick the switch, so to speak. It's entirely possible, but it also could mean absolutely nothing.
