Guess I'll post this in here, too.

Back of Nintendo Land's JP box.

1-5 players
Supported video output: 480p, 720p
6 MB required for save data
Number of saves: 1 (shared among all users)
Supported controllers: Wii U gamepad, Wii Remote MotionPlus + Nunchuk (dependent on attraction played, sensor bar also required for some attractions)
Nintendo Network: sharing of play experiences through Miiverse

So, they stop listing resolution at the native resolution the game runs at? Do I get this right?

Not quite... the JP NSMBU box goes all the way up to 1080p, and we already know for sure the games native resolution is 720p.

I'm still peeved that this info is nowhere to be seen on the NA box. >:[

I bought a copy of Ass Creed III for the Wii-U as it was the only Wii-U games being sold that interested me, the big ones won't come till the 18th... my EB Games confirmed the Midnight launch is confirmed, and there were signs all over the place advertising for it.

For the record, I have held the Wii-U disc, and the edges are indeed more softened then DVDs or even Blu-rays.

That info is not on the NA box? Pretty sure that's not supposed to. The box HAS to have that kind of info. Rules and all that.

Nowhere to be seen. Just Nintendo Network info. No player count (other than how many Wiimotes you could use), no save data info, no resolution.

720p max for Nintendo Land?

Not even upconvert? That's bullshit.

So the Wii-U will be closer to the PS3 in terms of forcing you to the closest to native resolution

Still doesn't make any sense why ZombiU was pushed back if they were willing to release the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed 3. That's off the list finally. The more I read about it's issue the less okay I feel about buying the Wii U version blind. If the game gets patched after release and people comment that the issues are gone I'll pick it up right away. I'll go out on my lunch break if I can.

I think I'm going to do a coin toss later between Mass Effect 3 and Tekken. Just learned that ME3 doesn't have any Miiverse features though other then what is there by default for all games. So that's annoying. I've played through the PS3 demo several times now and I have a good feel for how the gameplay is now when comparing it with ME1. Online community is a worry though. Assuming Tekken has Miiverse features.

I just cancelled my AC3 preorder. I won't have time to play it for a while anyway, and it seems like every year I buy the new AC at full price and then it's for sale for $20 off a month later. Just going to stick with NSMBU and NintendoLand for now.

I was also the only one there not buying Blops 2.

Lol, me too. I reserved NSMBU, ZombiU, and Blops 2 a few hours ago at my GameStop (Columbus, OH). I asked about a midnight release, and the guy said that they are probably doing one, but I'm calling BS. Guess I have to wait until I get a phone call from them in a few days.

One other picture I didn't take till after the fact

Yes, the inside of the Wii-U container for the game, behind the manual, is that ugly recycling symbol pressed on through

These containers are pretty cheap, DVD cases

Hopefully the games are not

I know, I was pissed when it was delayed from the 13th.

Btw, Target is having a sale in which if you buy 2 WiiU games, you can get a 3rd for 50% off from 11/18 - 11/22. Something worth taking advantage of if you are buying multiple games.

Woah, really?

I may need to change my plans.

Those with Scribblenauts, can you check the instruction manual and see if it says anything about the game supporting Off TV Play?

And I quote: "OPTIONS: Edit sound and graphic settings. View the controls, credits, intro movie, and ending movie. Activate TV OFF Mode to play using only the gamepad"

:)

Are you talking about problems specific to the Wii U version or the game's issues on other platforms that may be present in it?

The issues in the other versions that could be in the Wii U version. Ubisoft has time and time again said the Wii U version would be just like the other versions. Sure the Wii U version is being handled by a different team if I'm recalling correctly but no reason to think the same bugs and issues won't be in the game. At least at the moment.

Edit:

I don't have time to read the whole Ass Creed 3 thread, what sorta problem does it have prey tell?

The issues are suppose to run a big range. These are ones I came across in the thread. Dialogue cutting out, npcs walking into walls, weapons you are fighting with disappearing, character getting stuck in various places, mission waypoints not appearing or leading to wrong locations, events not triggering, no instruction on various systems, character not fighting when you are pressing buttons to, npcs not actually appearing, enemies not fighting back, etc. There could be more. In short it's suppose to be really buggy/glitchy. Some people are really upset about it over in the official thread.

People say it's playable and when it works it's a great game. You might not even encounter the issues or only a few of them. However that's always random. Some say it only appears in certain sections of the game as well so you might not come across the issues. For some it isn't a big deal and reloads can fix the issues. It's just a huge cloud over the game.

If that can be fixed or there was an assurance it was going to be fixed fairly quickly I'd feel better. It's a question of why the game is even like this. It's the fifth entry into the series. However the multiplayer is suppose to not have any problems at all. That was made by a different Ubisoft team though.

I've been playing it on 360. It has tons of glitches, is not that fun, and the storyline blows. Just completely wasted my money on this one. I loved revelations, liked brotherhood, really liked 2 and though 1 was an average game that coulda been really good. This one sucks.

I can't believe a game with a team of 500 or whatever amount of people ubi said made this would have this many stupid fucking glitches. Pisses me off so much

Hmmm...

Well it's not like I was expecting this third party port to be mind-blowing or anything but it is a tad disheartening

I'll still give it a go

I do not see a problem with this then. I was going to play it on one of the consoles anyway, so...

I have a $60 Best Buy gift card sitting around. Already getting Assassin's Creed 3 and NSMBU. Thinking of using the gift card for another game.

Maybe Zombi U... Hmm..

I guess on the other side of the coin though the Wii U version might not have any issues because it would have to be optimized for the system. Perhaps the "new" engine AC3 is run one might run better on the Wii U. So while the game could look the same it's performance might simply and hopefully be better. Though that might not affect these problems. Maybe I shouldn't write it off so soon?

Edit:

In the reddit thread (started reading more of it) they did say the PC version would launch with two patches ready to go. So that could mean they are going to patch the other versions fairly soon since the PC version comes out the 20th. Seems there is a patch already in certification.

If anyone is curious. http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/134w2f/iama_developer_on_assassins_creed_iii_ask_me/

Where do you work so I can come and steal see all of that?

Lol not gona answer that one. Did pick up my Assassin's Creed 3 tonight as well. I like that the box spines show what I assume are the menu tiles. Think the systems will start showing tomorrow. Can't wait.

We got in our Deluxe consoles today; I would have taken photos, but I was jamming out to some tunes while receiving more Black Friday crap.

We're still waiting on our copies of ZombiU, TTT2, ME3, and Darksiders 2.

Is ZombiU Street Dated for Nov 18 or are stores, the storage room looks a lot like a GameStop, just holding it back?

With systems coming in now, will online in-store orders switch to 'Preparing' status or will that wait until Saturday?

Those are typically done the day before a street-dated item is released; if whoever is working is doing their job, you should get a confirmation email early on on Saturday.

HOPEFULLY, someone is smart enough to set aside pre-orders at your store so there aren't any accidental picks.
