Note to self: innocuous links with 'this set' should be avoided while in this thread. 95% chance of leading to poverty and divorce.

I could see some interesting *ahem* creations from that top one.

.....I scroll back up, I think outside the box, then I think nasty for a second, then DAMN YOU I CANT UNSEE YOUR GROSS REFERENCE TO *ahem* "CREATIONS!"

That little disc is one nasty little disc now...

I'm still quite new to GAF, but lurked for years. I had a huge amount of lego as a kid. loved it. parents would basically tip the box out onto the floor and I'd be happy to sit there all day just building stuff.

Then I grew up. Forgot all about it. Turned 30 earlier in the year. After ducking and out of this thread from time to time, though I'd buy some as a present to myself for my B'day. Sort of like a throw back to my childhood. So grabbed the Space Shuttle set...and It all went downhill from there.

It's been 8 months since that day and I now have

Space Shuttle
X-wing
Sopwith Camel
Fire Station
Grand Emporium
Mini Modulars
R2D2
Series 7 minifig set
Series 1 + 2 of the Star wars mini vehicle sets (have them on my desk at work)
Various Smaller sets I cannot help buy when I see them on sale at any shops.

I'm currently travelling with work, but received word that a massive Box from amazon arrived to the office which is non other than Tower Bridge which was 25% off in the UK.

I'm doing eveything I can NOT to get the SSD.

sooo, yeah. I think I may have a problem. Also my wallet hates you all :(

anyone in the UK looking for a used but great condition sopwith camel? if there is any interest I can put it in the buy/sell thread. Just don't fancy putting it on ebay - never sold anything on there and would like to keep it that way

Welp, that settles it. I'm going to have to buy this entire line just like I did with Alien Conquest.

Then I want to see a pincushion kind of battle ship. You press a tab than flick missiles go everywhere. I want eyes to suffer, toes to be hurt and cries heard everywhere.

I bought my youngest daughter this thing last week when I was in Orlando. She'll be two next month.

Those missiles? They fire. Like, hard. She nailed my six year old in the face with it. I'm surprised they'd include such a strong firing mechanism in the toddler line, but stick with flick missiles for the more advanced sets.

You know what is sad about those pictures? Knowing they are from a Toys R Us I cant tell if that is the TRU tax or regular Canadian pricing.

Canadian pricing.

That set is ~750 pieces and goes for $99 at TRU. That's the same piece count & price as the Ghost Train.

Actually...lots of non-licensed sets sell at TRU Canada for the same price as Lego sells them, so the mark up isn't universal.

So anyone workout a price for making the UCS Falcon by buying parts off the web? I don't mind doing some swaps for similar parts and thinking it could be a fun project.

My thoughts: How about some Cloud City or Dagobah or even Tatooine sets before you revisit Hoth again, hmmm LEGO?

Although this set could finally be a good recreation of Hoth, unlike 7879.

They've done Tatooine bunch of times recently with the 2 Jabba Palace sets, and desert skiff

I was thinking more of a new Mos Eisley set (the cantina), maybe some Jawas and Tusken Raiders. The Lars homestead would be a nice set as well.

For Dagobah, all I want is Yoda's hut (and maybe a "Jedi-training" playset).

And I've gone on about my desires for Cloud City sets previously.

And I have gone on many times about it as well. They could do an entire line of it. Grr. I want some awesome Cloud City stuff.

Anakin and Sebulba Podracers are on sale for $62.19 on Amazon right now. Not $30 like Target accidentally did, but still a good discount.

EDIT: Go to Lego.com and watch the animated banner for LOTR video game. It is great. Lego Gimli and a Lego Cave Troll sitting on a couch playing a game. Great stuff.

I started playing the game last night. Plenty happens just sitting at the title screen. Love all of the little nods and details in it so far.

I just got back from LEGOLAND Florida and thought I'd share the coolest things they had there. This is a life size 100% LEGO Ford Explorer.

Wow, it totally looks pixelated. Thanks for sharing the photo. Really, everyone that posts all of these Lego creations. I love this thread.

edit: the buddist pop-up made me tear up. beauty.

Not sure, but I think some were doing it for around $5-600 but with some replacement parts - some that are unique to the falcon are very expensive on bricklink (eg boat rigging at the back)

I might try this in 2013, if there are some good guides for which pieces to swap out. Nothing much other than the eagle, modular and horizon express is getting my juices going for next year so far.

Air New Zealand's christmas gift for frequent flyers pleases me. Includes their own stickers, which is a neat touch!

The other options were a portable speaker set or a skincare set. Like there was any other option I was going to pick.

And you can fill it with elves and orcs and stuff and still be accurate! :D

Does anyone here have the Technic Crawler (9398)? My son wants it for Christmas. Reviews seem good but a few people state that the gears slip and it stops working. That would suck.

My Hayabusa arrived today!

I am torn. To leave it sealed and pristine, or to build it tonight and fix a good spot to proudly display it.

Before this moment, I have used the phrase "shut up and take my money" a few times, but I have never meant it more. castle lego is best lego. I expect to want them all.

Bold it tonight and then tell us how it was. I'm still figuring out what to buy on Friday to get up to £50 for the Christmas set. I think I'm entirely up to date with everything I could want.

Only two major sets left for me are the SSD and R2D2. SSD of course takes priority. And God help me, I am thinking of using that new credit card to get it this weekend. God help me.

Fuck this thread, I already started collecting the minifigures, bought the X-Wing and captain America sets last weekend, my wife started laughing in the "mocking" way like thinking "really"?

Get the modulars and let her see you building them. Then show off the little touches inside as you do it. That is how I turned my wife around on it. The modulars and Tower Bridge were the sets that made her go "wow."

I look forward to your letters.

And remind her how much time and money she has spent on new clothes! ;)
I am joking.
