I won't have access to internet apart from my phone so I guess I'll just read a liveblog or something and watch the trailers later. That way I don't need to watch people cut up fruit whilst dressed like a ninja or any other bullshit they'll have this year.

I had to look for the Spike HD channel last night, have not watched spike in about a year, coincidentally probably the last VGA.

Haha, funny, but in all seriousness they skipped the number 2 simply because it would make their console look inferior if it was called Xbox 2 while the Playstation was at number 3. And it wouldn't make much sense to go from 360 to 8 either.

That doesn't make much sense at all. I'm pretty sure they're just going to skip numbers all together and put a word after Xbox instead. Either that or have a number that's higher than 360 (although not 720, that'd just be silly).

I just hope the coverage is more like what they do at E3. Treats its viewers with respect and doesn't rely on stereotypes

Woo I can't wait to see what c-list celeberties are on tonight pretending they have actually played a video game once. I love it most of them just sound like " oh yeah ima such a big gamer I like really like packman and mario brothers and stuff".

8 hours for the preshow, 9 hours for the main show

tempted to watch live from the UK, its late but last year was fun to follow on gaf.

Will there be a live recording (i.e not edited highlights) to download/stream the following day for those of us in timezones not suited to watching live?

Personally if it were to be called 720, which it almost 100% won't, I'd love it. Many call it that, and it defines part of next gen for me. I hope it's not Xbox loop.

One of my predictions is that half of the game is going to be set in Castlevania, and the other half is going to be
set in the present day as teased at the end of the first game
.

I only hope that I am wrong.

I have a feeling Ground Zeroes is going to show up as one of the unannounced trailers. Kojima said last year after showing Rising that he likes the VGAs more than E3 for reveals and he's in LA since they did a Rising press event yesterday.

DVRing this since I'm seeing Brian Posehn tonight. I'll just fast forward through the BS

Guess we can only wait and see. All I am going to say on the matter is that Mercury Steam has shown tremendous potential in their first effort. The sequel will hopefully bear the fruits of that experience. Can't wait to play as Dracula.

I agree. I'm willing to give that "spoiler" a chance*, it just depends on how its executed and how organically woven throughout the product it is.

*pending that I'm right about it

Here is my predicktion, MARK IT AS SCRIPTURE:

Microsoft will announce two versions of their "next" system (not necessarily tonight at the VGA's).

Version 1 - Called: Xbox 8 - Aimed at the casual and digital download market. Focus on apps, Xbox live market place, and has a graphics capability on par or maybe a touch better architecture than the current 360. about the size of a Wii. Kinect 2.0 bundled.

Version 2 - Called: Xbox Infinity - Aimed at the true gamer market. High end DX 11 graphics, large hard drive, focus is on games with some apps as well. Kinect 2.0 sold separately or maybe bundled. Tradicktional controller but possibly modified to allow for Kinect 2.0 interactions.

Well, I would like to think that ending was put there for a reason. As it was one of the better game endings of this gen, in my humble opinion. I kind of want to see some sort of resolution in the modern day, if you get my meaning.

bold predictions. I can't help but wonder though, will microsoft push for cutting edge hardware? they know the market won't take well to a overpriced console and they want to keep the momentum from the 360 going, will they do a sony and go cutting edge with a price point to match or will they have a respectable upgrade to the 360 with a more market friendly price point.

basically, will next gen end up lagging behind pc gaming as it has this generation.

As much as I loved the game, I'm very skeptical about the direction that the ending tease presented. Of course, there's always room in the tummy for some crow.

I don't really know about the time zones. I live in Israel. I think there's a 7 hour difference between us and the US

you're right, but it's been a lot more noticeable this generation or maybe I've just paid more attention because of this forum and others. games like battlefield 3 and others show just how much more ahead pc are now compared to consoles. I can't remember a time when it was as apparent as it is now.
