it probably isn't done for just a small section - the design is probably all over the entire game and B/W was the test bed for it. just think of what you expect the camera to do while you're making that turn - it's going to circle around

So it looks like I will be getting Pokemon Black 1 so catch me up and fill in the time till XY comes out. Before i pull the trigger is their anything major in White that I will be missing (besides white forest pokemon) I had heard that black is more for items and dueling while white is more for capturing and training... how accurate is that?

That's still not a date.
White Forest and Black City are worthless unless you come across a lot of people with Black 1 and White 1 in tag mode regularly. If you stop visiting them for a couple days they'll both wither up.
You miss out on nothing, either way.
They have 2 exclusive places. Black has black city which can be used to buy uncommon stuff and battle while White Forest hascertain Pokemon form the past generations that you can only get from there.
The problem with those 2 places tho is that you have to rush through the main game to get there since each place has a certain amount of NPCs that decrease the longer you take to reach them. The less people there, the less useful they are overall unless someone you know has the opposite game to bring more people to them.
They were *fixed*In their sequels tho.

Honestly though...I just think there's a lot more translating to do in Animal Crossing than there is in Pokemon, and Pokemon is a #1 priority while Animal Crossing is a #2/3 priority to Nintendo. So Animal Crossing gets the short end...maybe. Who knows. I sure as hell don't.

For a school project, I helped my little brother create a Pokedex, types and names and everything! Let me try and find it, it had some Australian pokemon; koala, kangaroo, dingo... had a platypus water/poison too.

Price is not a huge deal for me. I just want the most enjoyable game for my situation (only played Yellow and LOVED it. I will only have time to play like an hour a day. ALso I have been out of the loop in the pokemon world)

I could kinda see that too. I always figured they were lions since there's a noticeable difference between the genders and always thought they were referencing the constellation Leo with the stars on the tails throughout the line.
Anyone think that Game Freak might make some even bigger changes in addition to the switch to 3D? Like adding new types, the number of Pokemon you can carry, or some other useful addition?
It seems like each generation they've been making small improvements to the over all game mechanics, and Gen V had one of the best ones they ever added (Reuseable TM's). I just hope that since they're already making the big jump to 3D, they will go ahead and vastly improve some of the mechanics of the series that have been the same since the original.... It's really beyond time for it when you think about it

Well, I do think Luxray has lion-like influences, but I'm pretty sure the line as a whole are more based on Lynx.
Luxio especially has the little Lynx beard.
One thing that annoys me in the games is having to run back and forth to a PokeCenter when training, which BW fixed a bit by introducing healers.
Honestly they should just let your Pokemon slowly heal when you're walking around, and make Healing Items only usable in battles.

Why? Simple. The Eshop games mostly cannot play Multiplayer with other games. Lets say they release Pokemon Blue untouched. How could you trade? You could not.
Also, Nintendo know that after Emerald and Ruby, the next Remake they will have to do is Pokemon Green and Red again for the 3DS or the 4DS. They wont ruin the chance of making an extra buck by allowing games to be remade to be playable. Its the same reason why you cannot buy Kirby All stars on the Eshop.
Would reduce the sells of Ultra and Kirby 20th.
