Resident Evil: Revelations is headed to 360, PS3, PC and WiiU May 21st, 2013

In this case why do they release it for WiiU? Is not that it has a huge user base
Because wiiu is a 2 month old console which isn"t completely doomed?

For real though, the wiiu doesn"t really have such a game so why not? Relationship with nintendo is good 2 i guess

Because they see more potential in the Wii U than the Vita and want to build a fanbase there. They're already releasing Monster Hunter after all.

Probably started developement before the WiiU was released. It is also probably easier to port it to the WiiU than the Vita because of the more equal hardware power that the PS3 and Xbox 360 have.
Yep, but being a weaker game tech wise than the typical HD games they already ported to Vita wouldn't require them the same effort.
And unlike in WiiU, in Vita they already released 2 MT Framework games, and when released their Lost Planet 2 Vita tech demo they explained that it was the only full featured portable version of the engine.
So the Vita implementation of their engine shouldn't be a problem.

Nintendo consoles also have a legacy for the series going back to the Gamecube. And given that the game was one of the biggest guns in the 3DS's arsenal, Nintendo would have deserved every single bit of criticism if they couldn't get a port of this on the Wii U.

N64, actually.

The GameCube, Wii and 3DS each had multiple RE games announced for them before they even launched. The original DS and Wii U are the only ones that had nothing announced for them, although when the Revelations leak on the Korean rating agency site hit, a Wii U version seemed inevitable then.

The question now is if (when?) RE6 hits Wii U. I'm pretty sure Capcom has at least planned for it, but the game's lukewarm reception may change things up. I say they bundle RE5 with it, put in some changes to both games, and try to get some goodwill back.

Oh yeah, I forgot that RE0 started out as a N64 exclusive, in addition to the "I can't believe they actually did it" port of RE2.

But yeah, Nintendo is definitely a home for the series.

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence doesn't count? :(

DS got RE: Deadly Silence. How could YOU forget that? :p

Oh, sure, i dont doubt that the Vita can run this game. And i dont think it would take a lot of work to do it. I just mean that it will probably take some more effort to port it to the Vita than to the WiiU because it seems to me that this remake was intended for consoles and PC (which both are more powerful than the Vita). The game already excist on a handheld (and it also supports that dual analog addon as well), so maybe that was a reason to not use any resources on the Vita version.

In this case why do they release it for WiiU? Is not that it has a huge user base. It's a good reason, but I think there should be more to don't release it there. A MT multiplatform would be very cheap for them, and would have meant to get some benefit from Sony. Maybe they have some deal for portables with Nintendo, or bad relationship with Sony?

I think both have a very low install base, so I think it isn't the only reason about not releasing it on Vita. Historically Capcom never gave a shit about lower installbase, they supported had several systems with lower install base.
Well by the time this releases Wii U will in all probability have a higher user base already. They already ported MH3G from 3DS to Wii U so they have the experience with such an up-port and it will probably be easier, faster and therefore cheaper.

Also keep in mind that while Wii U's commercial reception has been pretty lacklustre so far, the system is still in its infancy. PSV's situation is pretty dire at this point. I still remember when pubs were quite publicly complaining about 3DS' situation when it was performing way better than PSV is. I'm still not convinced the system is doomed since I can see it carving a niche in the otaku market but for mainstream games... Now if Wii U's performance keeps on being anaemic it might get into the same situation and not receive ports such as this.

I bet the PS3 version will have remote play, either on day 1 or patched on a future date. That should cover us wretched Vita owners.

I'd be interested for 10-15$ on psn(ps3 or Vita) or xbla.

50$ for a game a year+ old? Hilarious pricing.
Yeah, I don't get it either. The episodic nature doesn't lend itself all too well to home console expectations as is, then it's an up-port of an old game and being released at full price. I don't expect this to light up the charts.

Yeah, Deadly Silence was a completely out-of-nowhere announcement, and was released soon after it was announced. Truly, a port that no one was asking for!

I actually wanted the DS and PSP to have a bunch of RE ports back when they came out. That's sort of come true, but CVX never hit the PSP like I was hoping. Now I'm hoping they put that and RE4 on Vita or 3DS someday...

Capcom haven't announced a Vita game in 16 months.

However, they're making a big deal out of MH3 Ultimate for Wii U.

Seems like a no brainer to figure out, they think Wii U has some kind of future and Vita currently doesn't. Take it up with Capcom if you don't like their conclusions.

RE4 on more platforms, really? :p

Hell I'd buy it.

Bet this is gonna end up as some sort of test for WiiU as well.

That being said...I dunno if I want this on WiiU or PC.

Theres PC for highest graphic quality or WiiU for whatever second screen options and Miiverse. Better have voice chat.

In this case why to release it on WiiU if it has even worse sales?
There are more possible reasons, maybe they think this game doesn't performed properly on portables so they think it do a way better job in home platforms in order to be able to get profit for it.
Something related to what happened with RE4, they ported it to a lot of platforms, Capcom's favorite sport.

I think you need to get over the Vita. Capcom didn't see a market for Revelations on PSP, so they sure as hell wouldn't see one on the Vita. Would have been nice to have, I agree, but would have sold minuscule amounts.

One of my favorite games from last year. The visuals are a huge jump from the 3DS, don't know about the price but looks like I'll be getting the Wii U version.

I never in a million years imagined Capcom would actually port this 3ds game to the 360. I always said i would get it if it came to consoles so ill be good on that word.

People use the low install base and sales as an excuse for the Vita don't realize that the Dreamcast and Gamecube have had tons of support from Capcom.

I'd rather have another original entry. Vita could end visually quite close to RE4 and better in some aspects but 3DS? Ugh....

Revelations actually does look quite a bit nicer than RE4 in some aspects, so I'm not sure where the "ugh" is coming from.

And saying that the Vita could come close to it is being rather down on the hardware itself, don't you think? :p

Wii U has a low install base because it's 3 months old. Vita has a low install base because it's a dying system.

RE0 and REmake both managed to ship more than a million for the GC though. The Nintendo home console audience likes them some good old Resident Evil. Don't know about the Dreamcast, but lets not forget that those were cheaper times as well.

But Revelations had simple and closed enviroments and less enemy count. I mean it wouldn't look bad probably but I fear quite a few things would have to be heavily downgraded, since 3DS polycount is much lower than GC....
