Does anyone know how you unlock the 'Rare' pieces of concept art? I've unlocked 2/4, one was for getting SSS rank for 60 missions, and the other was for 50 hours of play. Don't know how to get the other 2 though.
Activate DT 666 times and take 5 million points of damage.

nice!
edit: bloody palace in this game looks godawful.
edit2: TIME LIMIT. UGH.

Protip: DMC4's Bloody Palace had a time limit as well, which in effect didn't amount to much if you were continuously getting high style ranks.

The guy playing in that vid simply blows.

Force field to prevent easy environmental kills?

Colored enemies is unfortunate, but really not unexpected. Taking those out eliminates like a third of available enemies : /

Sorry for the dumb question, but correct me if I'm wrong: none of the costume unlocks or DLC actually make Dante look like the white hair version in this gif from the intro?

If so that's a shame, I actually kind of liked that look.

Well the first 19 levels look easy. Wonder how deep you have to get before they start spamming Witches and Dreamrunners.

He joke's that he'll never wear that. After finishing the game you get his regular hair in half white.

I agree those first 19 levels looked lame. DMC4's first 19 levels were also easy but they were more interesting than this. I'm starting to wonder if DmC's enemy roster is enough fun for 100 levels of this.

Yeah, and the time limit sucked there too.

Eh...only if you didn't how to play.

Nope, the DMC3 costume is as close as it gets.

Maybe some of the new enemies from Vergil's Downfall could get thrown into the mix in later levels?

Doubt it. If they can't be bothered to have Vergin in BP, I doubt they'd include the enemies from Downfall. Besides, isn't Bloody Palace coming out before Vergin's Downfall?

And I'm not really feeling that Bloody Palace... It's a shame, but I guess I'll finish getting the achievements for DmC and Vergil's Downfall and then I'm done with this game.

YMMV I suppose. As a person who the thought the enemy waves became obnoxious on SoS much less DMD, I can't say I'm all that excited for BP. You know the last 20 or so levels will just be Harpies, colored coded Rages, Witches and Dreamrunners.

Bring on Vergil's Downfall.

That looked easier than even DMC4s BP first 20 levels. I guess that's what Human/Demon Hunter mode looks like, enemies died before the Rebellion basic combo even finished.

The timer works a bit differently from DMC4s it rewards you more for style meter. Maybe it always did but I never really looked at the clock, it was a non issue for me.

The worst thing they added to BP are those obnoxious acid pools that are there just to bring your style rank down. Something tells me we are going to have club level floor color changing non sense as well as here.

I really hope they include enemies from Vergil DLC but its a far out wish.

When is the Bloody Palace and Virgil DLC slated to come out?

BP says Feburary sometime. No word on Virgil.

Pretty sure both are slated for this month.

And if they have the color coded floors from the Night Club, I'm out.

That would be so fucking bad...

Man, they couldn't screw up Bloody Palace :(

Oh well, Rising is just around the corner.

Why are people surprised they kept the colored enemies? They are a core part of the challenge you have to overcome in the game. It's like if Capcom removed the Chimera enemies for being annoying fuckers.

Really disappointed they put in acid pools. So fucking bad.

I guess I didn't really 'expect' them to do it, but I was holding out hope against hope that NT would see that people hate them and trash the idea.

It's what makes me not want to bother with SoS. Dealing with them is not fun at all.

I have developed a good strategy for colored enemies now so I am not bothered by them too much. They are just an annoying presence bringing down your swag potential.

The acid pools are in bloody palace? goddamnit that's like my least favourite mechanic in the entire game./ so annoying.

Because it's post launch content and they had enough time to see that people hate this shit and would rather have less enemies. Of course it was ready before launch, but they had enough time to remove them.

As much as I bitch and moan about the candy coated enemies I found witches and harpies the most annoying enemies. Witches I need to find a better way to kill witches and harpies in packs were a chore to deal with. Rages were the only colored enemies that got to me and even then they were easy to deal with. Just avoid the charge and if they got super charged, parry a claw attack and do a strong/air combo on them.

But they're legit annoying, the color coded enemies are just boring.

i hate situations in action games when your movement and and attacking options are restricted. it's never ever fun. mix-ups are everything !

Well, shit. Now that I've put a fair amount of time into the game, I have almost no interest in Bloody Palace.

lol at the acid pools

^^^

Pretty much. Don't tread on me, game

Colored floors are a major problems with either Dreamrunners or Witches or Harpies because these enemies can attack you in mid air when you are comboing high up.

I wish/hope that every 10-20 floors they would change the environment looks. They have so many options... =/

I believe this is already confirmed from the screenshots.

Saw the Acid Floors, instantly turned off from BP. Ill just watch someone far more talented than me tear it up on youtube sometime.

Still very excited for Vergil's Downfall however!

Shotgun owns Harpies, Roundtrip owns Witches.

I got that much but I typically need to take down the shield at least 2-3 times to kill the witch on the harder difficulties. They had a ton of health. Granted on DMD mode all enemies take a little bit more punishment.

Also, where is the acid floors? I only see the red floor attack that isn't too bad.

What's the most damaging thing you can do to a witch before her shield goes back up anyway?
Charge up Eryx launcher when she's stunned and do a bunch of j./\ (the one where he slams down) in the air. Won't give you a lot of style meter but I found that it does the most damage while keeping things simple. Arbiter doesn't work well against her because one hit of Arbiter sends her flying. You can sort of mitigate this by using Round Trip first but it's not worth it IMO... use Round Trip to disable her not damage her.

The other alternate method is to do that but in between the j./\ is to throw out Kablooey. Right when you get 6 stacks, blow it up for max damage.

Kablooey owns everything in the game hard if you get 6 stack.

Interesting. Didn't realize that there would be enough time to get all those Kablooey shots in. I've severely neglected it, using mostly the shotgun.

Speaking of the shotgun, what's with the long ass animation after each shot where Dante faces a particular direction for about a full second afterwards? You can cancel the animation but it looks rough as fuck. All the guns seem to do this to some degree.

There's a video of a guy who got full stacks on Dreamrunner in one combo using enemy step and that enemy has the lowest combo time in the game.

I don't think you can get full stacks without using enemy step but you can get a couple of sticks in there and you can probably finish her in two combos this way.
