I HATED Bioshock 1, too. I just bought this game on a whim based off some recommendations in this thread and was knocked on my ass multiple times by game play, visuals, amazing audio cues, story telling, and the list goes on.

And regarding the story, I'll be thinking about this game from a lot of stand points for weeks at least.

I loved 1 and 2. Was looking to buy Infinite on release but I need money for travel at the moment. Can't wait to have some spare money to spend on it.

You should give Bioshock 1 another chance, it really is a great game.

They didn't like the halo 1 pistol because it made the game about headshots.

I think that's where I don't feel that bungie would have made another good halo game intentionally - the fact they wanted to move away from that rather than embrace it still annoys me

Honestly, I'd get bored if the only way to play the game was to get headshots. I don't really play SWAT for that reason.

Now I'm not asking for AR starts across the board or anything of that nature, but I agree with the gist of what they wanted. It's not so much as it is removing headshots as it is giving you a effective alternatives. When it comes down to it, the CE pistol is really the only weapon you needed, and I think that's what they wanted to change. There isn't much point in a sandbox if you only use 1 part of it.

Or upgrade to a RL or Sniper, but yeah the AR was next to useless and you would be faster to three shot than noob combo or pump them full of needles.

I think you can make a competitive and appealing game without making half the sandbox irrelevant. That is not one of Halo 4's problems to its credit (though an overly large sandbox is.)

Yes, the ideal game would have a pool of weapons that were useful in their own right. Players like to forget that the CE pistol was meant to be a 6sk.

Apart from JIP, I have no major dislikes towards Halo 4, yet I'm just not inclined to play it as I have been with previous games. Something is wrong.

Even if you have no beef with the gameplay, which amazes me in the first place, there's no real incentive to continue playing MP. That's what skill ranks are for, and that's why they're being added in. Though without them visible in game, I doubt many people will care.

I know this'll sound like a joke but it's not.

I've co-oped every Halo except for this one because no one's interested.

Any crazy fools out there that may be interested?

I've never really cared about rank though. Lack of incentive, yes. But I'm at a loss as to what the incentive was in the first place.

There are definitely other factors. A lot of it has to do with the way information about how you're playing is fed to you. Even though you might not care about ranks, winning or losing is still a driving factor in how much you might enjoy what you're doing.

Winning feels less important in Halo 4 than it ever has. It, like Call of Duty, has become about the individual's progress rather than the success of the team. How many +WHATEVER did you get to fill your bar? The postgame report doesn't display final team scores. A small exp bonus for winning isn't enough to drive teamwork and excitement. I already filled my bar, so I stopped playing and stopped paying for Xbox Live. I didn't feel driven to play anymore.

Even though I felt entirely betrayed by Halo 4's multiplayer, I was enough of a fan of the franchise to give the entire multiplayer progression a chance. I reached the end and lost all desire to play, a clear indicator that the core game couldn't find a way to make me care.

Don't be so tsundere to Cortana-chan.

I'm sure everyone who played Halo 4 totally understood Cortana's storyline as it was the desire to get through her menstruation(sick and red?, gtfo 343) and become a real™(pinnochio!) woman. On top of that Cortana's story in Halo 4 is that of a coming of age(budding girl in manga, baka) & a virginal sacrifice(the purest sacrifice) ultimately for the greater good(Chief, the player character). Why would the newly borne from hardlight virgin Cortana sacrifice herself? She is in love with the neutered stoic character who despite all his other actions, displays only one skill and that is his ability to kill as it is displayed by the player's actions(the only actions allowed to the player I remind you.) Both characters also suffer from mai waifu/husbandu syndrome in that they both believe they were made for each other and cannot function at they're best when seperated.

These are all theme's explored by mangaka!@! And that is the japanese animu influence in mah amurican propane halo.

I may be interested too. Only got as far as Reclaimer with my friend before we grew bored and eventually forgot about it

Saw JP3D on IMAX last night. Fucking outstanding.

Still slowly moving through Infinite. It's been hard to get good play time on it. I have to try and get hours in when people aren't online, because I end up in a party talking and then I end up pausing because I don't want to chat and play at the same time.

Also, there's a Bioshock Infinite soundtrack on Spotify. Shit is awesome.

Oh God, you're right. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little (or its that pesky acid reflux).

Only map from what I've seen that I know I wont like. I havent like any map with a Mantis on it.

Plus it looks dry. Like it makes me feel dry when looking at it.

I like the look of perdition, simply because it reminds me of terminal. Other than that, I can't say I'm too excited about the map pack. I don't really play that much anyways, but I bought the season pass so I might as well play these since I already paid :/

Maps looks cool, but I always find it funny, when developers are posting a strategy guide. :p

"My favorite thing in Dominion is to own Base B. That allows you access to the Scorpion. You get the Scorpion tank and you're going to own the map." - Certain Affinity's Design Lead

This helps explain most of what's wrong with Halo 4's Multiplayer and its design.

Ranks are irrelevant, i never cared for it in Halo 2 or 3. There are far more issues that need to be addressed before that.
