Amazing to me how open handed gamers are with their money. Oh, a guy in a wheel chair, guess I"ll just dump money into his lap simply so he can play video games all day.

Really despicable, but I always have to respect the hustle, sorry.

Shitty move but why people pay to watch people play videogames is beyond me.

Some streamers do a wonderful job of connecting with their audience and making their audience feel like a part of their lives. At it's root, Twitch TV is nothing but reality programming. I've always seen donations more as, "Here's something because I support you," rather than "Here's something because you're playing a video game."

Hell, I'm a relative nobody on Twitch and I got a $25 donation once from a guy watching me play Assassin's Creed Revelations because he said I sounded like a good guy and was entertaining. I never mention wanting donations on my streams, but I do have a PayPal button on the bottom. Nor have I ever directed anyone to it. He just saw it and did it.

You do? Cause i find that despicable.

I don't care what you think? I'm sorry, I have my own opinion on morality and what people need to do to make it in this world. Life isn't black and white. I definitely object his actions, but hey no one was forced to give him money.

What can they do? He was taking donations. If people are stupid enough to donate to a stranger with a twitch stream it's their own fault.

This is so true, why would you even do that ffs? People clearly have too much disposable income maybe they should try donating to you know an actual registered charity.

That makes you no better. Respecting a scam artist? Nice company you keep there. You clearly have no morals.

Hey, manipulation is a gift and an art. I don't really give a damn about someone conning people out of their disposable income.

Like someone earlier said donate to a goddamn legit charity, fucking idiots.

So does that only work for con artists or is that a general attitude towards things?

Con artists and some crimes. A person can justify their actions with anything, but it doesn't change whether what they did was inherently good or bad. I believe it's wrong to steal say a loaf of bread in order to feed your starving family, but I can respect it.

Juniors are really making themselves look great lately.

I am pretty sure you misuse the word respect. Respect inherently has a moral evaluation in it.. given its historical meaning.

Surely you meant to type:

A con-artist committed a crime... I evaluate the action.. that action given its goal was efficiently and or deftly pulled off. Among people who do crime.. he is good at doing crime.

That is quite different than "paying respect."
Respect is a deference shown for those that are "better" for some generally agreed upon characteristic. REspecting someone generally leads to the conclusion that you find the person "good" and you could aspire to be them.

Surely, when you mean respect... you do not mean it in the way you think...

If you do... I feel sorry for your ill-appreciation and almost nihilistic world view.

Heh, people can say what they want about me, but I'm expressing my honest opinion. People in here have some very simplified notions of morality, people need to think before they throw their money away.

Mein Führer, I can walk!
You get people saying all the time, "FIRST POST NAILS IT, AS ALWAYS!" and "best first post evar!!1" but for pure timing, perfection, relevancy to the story and sheer genius, you my friend, have genuinely contributed the [greatest] first reply that this forum has or ever will see.

at least you're honest about your (basically) antisocial ideals.

I think your over analyzing things just a biiiit. But I would call myself a nihilist at times.

C'mon. People may deserve scorn for throwing away money without thinking but that doesn't in any way lessen what a shithead the scammer is. Totally separate things.

In all fairness, being a successful con artist does take some ability that lends itself to some manner of appreciation, hence the premise the movie "Catch Me if You Can". Nonetheless, calling an Internet liar feigning a disability a con artist is like calling a chimp banging on a drum a musician.

Well... read some poetry, read some books, watch a great movie, pick up some of the philosophers who talk heavily about nihilism. Talk about it among friends.

One of the greatest challenges in life is overcoming nihilism and coming to understand social humanity.

You need not despise this con-artist... but at least come to appreciate the empathy for others.
