Theres a lot of JRPGs out if you are in Japan that is. If its localized stuff you want, then sorry son you are a bit SOL.

At least you guys got a few coming up on the 3DS, SMT being most likely the most awaited for.

How big is Japan studios? Seriously, they just finished Soul Sacrifice and still have games like Rain, Puppeteer, Gravity Rush 2, Knack, The Last Guardian and now this in development.

Soul sacrifice was a joint effort by both the japan studio and Marvelous AQL.


Anyways Sony Japan studio have great talent they just need a good director/manager.

I'm fluent in japanese/Import Gaf and imported almost all the Vita JRPGs except Atelier games. I'm STARVING for more tbh although FF X-2 coming will make me probably not care about anything else for the year so I guess I'll perch for this

Vita monhun type game certainly seems most likely, I don't mind though, I'd imagine if it's from SCEJ it should at least be higher quality than some.

I don't like how it looks. The stuff in the lead up to the big dragon thing appearing seemed sort of interesting but yeah, I don't care for another one of these.

If you play with the PSP also while the battle system is a bit simplistic for the most part and as much as I hate Imageepoch, the Seventh Dragon 2020 I & II is actually pretty enjoyable.

There really is a ton of titles out there though. Its a bit crazy how much stuff still comes out for the PSP here. It literally is the handheld PS2 now.

The Summon Knight 3 & 4 are pretty good ports (great story / characters). Am not too impressed with 5 unfortunately.

I played the first 7th Dragon I have yet to try the second one because I already sold my PSP after doing UMD Passport for my Type-0 UMDs ;_; I wonder since II is recent if its on the JPSN store gonna check now thanks!

Loving that artstyle!

Hopefully if it's a Vita title it's something other than a Monster Hunter style game, I love Soul Sacrifice and Phantasy Star Online 2, but I'm a bit burnt out on the genre now.

I'm hoping the gameplay is different than Monster Hunter style. Based on what I saw, it's like The World Ends With You, Persona 3 and Valkyria Chronicles were placed in a blender.

So I'm really hyped for this -- I somewhat suspect we'll hear something about a US release soon (around E3 or after).

At the end of the video when they use the thorn whip to maneuver around the dragon seems fun. Anyway, it's SCEJ, chances are it will come over. They need to save the Vita somehow too in the West and at this point, anything is better than nothing.

looks like a better looking Catherine.. i hope this is the game's graphics and is indeed on the ps4. i do not hope it's a monhun-like game.

One thing that is for sure is that there seems to be a heavy story focus which is a great difference from MH for me, and this one's world and story seem very intriguing so far.

Even if its an MH style game, I'll wager that it will still have enough unique about it to stand on its own feet.

I never realised just how prolific Sony's Japan studios are. Imagine if they had good management, they would be like Rare in the N64 days

Pretty much. They have great talent but they also have horrible management. Knack should turn out fine due to Cerny.

I would've said JRPG until the moment when the girl is saved by soem friends interfering and lashing onto the big cyborg monster that was about to eat her, or whatever. Now it seems like a MonHun game.

But maybe it could be a hybrid? JRPG with that kind of battle system, in which your friends could jump into your game and play with/help you?

Based on the trailer, I don't really like the look of this. It's probably the anime visual style that puts me off. Ah well, at least Sony Japan still has Puppeteer, Knack, Rain, The Last Guardian(!) and Gravity Rush 2(!!) in the works, so it's all good.

Japan Studio's upcoming lineup is very, very promising.

I also love the fact that they are primarily working on brand new IPs.

Totally reminds me of Devil Survivor and God Eater combined. Pretty sure it's gonna play out like God Eater.

Hope it's a PS Vita game, especially with the recent release of Soul Sacrifice I'm starting to finally "touch" my Vita lol. Time to revive my Vita!
