'Batman' Reboot - Who should play who?

Assuming that Batman will be once again rebooted so as to lay the groundwork for a future JL film, who should be cast as Bruce Wayne and co.? Heroes, villains, etc.

Note: I'm assuming this is a complete reboot, and not the TDK series merging with Man of Steel and JL.

I think i want a superman batman movie before a new batman series. Those are my favorite of the cartoon stories by far. Maybe a Public Enemies adaptation.

Someone can feel free to correct me, since most all of my knowledge of the JL comes from the DCAU, but isn't Batman pretty well-established and oldwe by the time he joins up with the League? I feel like if that's the case, we need somebody hard, older and grizzled; a Christian Bale or even Michael Keaton-aged guy isn't gonna fit. We need an old asshole Batman, the kind who purposely joins to study the other heroes for weaknesses in case he needs to neutralize them someday.

We haven't had that Batman on screen yet, and I think it'd be cool as fuck. Late 40s - early 50s Batman, the one who's been at it so long that he's teetering on the edge of going too far.

He's not in his 50s... he's like in his early/mid-30s. He's just fucking hardcore is all.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
I just hope they don't do a villian that has been used on film before. Black Mask or something, please.

Fair enough, like I said I don't follow the comics at all. I just feel like an older (not grandpa old, mind you) Batman would be an interesting take. We've had Batman Begins going back to his origins, and the other films all feel like he's just getting started (at the beginning of the 89 movie, nobody actually believes he exists) or hasn't been at it too long.

I'd be nice to see a Batman who's spent decades behind the cowl and is a bitter, grumpy bastard. The Batman who drives everyone away from him. It'd be interesting to see that dynamic with the other superheros, sort of a grounded, realistic sort to counter the idealism of the others.

Rip Torn should play Batman.
Kathy Bates should be Robin.
Vin Diesel should be Alfred.
Jeff Goldblum should be The Joker.

That's a fuckin perfect movie right there people.

I they reboot for fuck sake don't do the origin story.

This, this, a thousand times this. Every fucking Batman movie has a flashback or two. It gets old after a while. If you are walking into a Batman movie, you should probably know the basics by now and there's no need to spend more than 5 lines of dialogue on it.

Physically, Jon Hamm is the perfect choice for Bruce. I think he could pull off the acting but other people don't seem fond of the idea.

Pics of Karl Urban please.
