Guys and gals this is now snowballing into something HUGE. Great job :) Makes me proud to be a member of this forum, keep it up!

I haven't seen that on GAF anywhere. Not even from pro-MS people.

People see what they want to see. #sad

Well, I've specifically had people on my FB/twitter saying stuff like that. Idk if they truly are fine with the DRM stuff, or if they're just trying to spin it differently, but either way I've seen a disturbing amount of people saying they're fine with it.

Specifically they tend to gravitate towards used games = evil, eroding the industry, so they believe eliminating the used games market = more games, more creativity, etc.

SMH. I just can't fathom how someone could think used/rentals are worse than piracy.

Used/rental is mainstream and legal, anybody can and does do it.

Console piracy is not. It's far less prominent and less of a drain on console game sales than used/rental is. So many devs have reiterated the same and so many gamers refuse to take responsibility for their actions. We've had too much of a good thing for too long, with a multitude of problems arising from it, and it's about time it was over, honestly.

Maybe something positive from MS. I made a thread the other day(which got no responses :( ) but I tweeted it to some Xbox people. I just noticed that Mike Ybarra, who is in charge of games from MS produced by external studios responded to my tweet with this.

This is the BBC World twitter profile: https://twitter.com/BBCWorld

If you search BCC on twitter they list other twitters for BBC like BBC UK.

Thanks!

Why are you even here then? If you think consumers' right should be trampled on, why don't you make a new thread to show off your disregard for it? Are you working for any company? I'd like to know who.

He lost me when he said used games are a problem. They're not. End of story.

I don't agree that it's a problem either, but the point still stands. this DRM isn't going to solve, and maybe there is a better solution that we can all agree on. Like he said. Something less controlling. Something that doesn't punish ME for buying your game.

I'm going to send that vid to everyone in the OP. I suggest others do the same.

Man all sony needs to do at E3 is come and stage and say the PS4 games work just like the PS3...then flash $399 price, drop the mic. Then just shows games....

Winner, winner, chicken dinner....

They kind of are when the number 1 retailer is selling them for 5 dollars less than a new copy 1 week after the game releases(and practically telling everyone who walks in to buy it). You can't honestly say that isnt taking food from the dev's mouiths.

still against drm though, wish there was another solution

maybe a law against reselling them for a certain period of time after release? like a 3 month window? the retailers reselling them, but you could give it to your buddy day 1 if you wanted

this is a problem these companies need to find a way to deal with without hurting the consumer

It's not Sony who decides this. The DRM push is coming from 3rd party publishers.

If you want to make a stand, tweet EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Capcom etc.

I've done that and have gone back to doing that don't worry your pretty little head about that :)

Complete radio silence from Sony camp since much earlier today. I wonder if an "all users" stfu email went out to staff.

If I have to guess judging from previous examples, EA and Capcom are at the forefront of this. After all, Ubi and Activision don't seem to have problem putting their games on Wii U, which has none of the DRM nonsense.

If Sony doesn't implement the systems the publishers can't use them. Sony absolutely decides this. If publishers want to threaten to ditch Sony let them, they'll be the ones who lose out when they can't sell enough copies of games to recoup their costs because they've limited their market.

Which of the Sony guys have said something? Reading the OP it's amazing that this has reached some of the people and I'm glad it seems to be reaching the ones in charge.

Sony could be setting itself up well if it plays its cards right.

Sony can't survive without 3rd parties, but can 3rd parties survive without Sony? I think some of them can. But it's pretty much a lose-lose situation imho.

MS and Sony both should make a stand in this DRM matter and then it might have an effect.

No it's SONY that decides this. Stop spreading this incorrect idea. 3PP can't meet plan without selling on PS4. #commonsense

As much as 3rd parties bitch out dev costs and not making money don't you think it'd be pretty stupid of them to ditch Sony even if they decided not to introduce this?

I'd say it's about time to get over TB's opinion. He doesn't believe in hashtags and that's his right - and everything after that is pretty much an argument with some people who have overreacted to his comments, which isn't exactly new for him. Still love him and still going to watch his shows, nothing to see here IMO.

3rd parties surviving without Sony is contingent on a shitload of people loving the XBone and buying it with all this crap attached. I mean maybe double the number they sold later generation to make up for what is equal worldwide sales.

Sony has far more leverage than they did a week ago.
