Dude E3 is in a couple days cool your jets.
His PGR obsession has warped his mind.

Why would he ask if it's always online if the console's been confirmed to essentially be always online?Native.

That brings up another point... if you only have to be online once every 24 hours, what am I missing out on if my console's offline, other than multiplayer/XBL?
Happy cake munching, then!
Happy Cake Day
Yeah, I knew the distinction between "always" and not, I just wasn't sure if what's-his-face was making it or not. That will vary from game to game, depending on how they're designed. In Forza's case, we don't know yet.
My mental state took a hefty blow just so you guys would keep the faith alive for PGR5 and this is the thanks I get?His PGR obsession has warped his mind.

Curious to see what difference it'll make in FM5, and whether the cloud will mean we'll see some games that *require* a constant connection, even for single-player.

Yep, might just be upscaled to 1080p. Wouldn't call this a confirmation before they talk about native res.
Data that isn't sensitive to latency can be done over the cloud.
I'm still hoping for some PGR at E3 but I'm not holding my breathe.
I'm glad at least one platform holder is pushing 1080p/60fps standard. As it should be.
They aren't, hell the entire Phil Spencer article everyone had a heart attack over specifically said they are not holding any developer to a standard in resolution or framerate.
Well of course. You seriously think that saying "Your game has to be 1080p running 60FPS or we won't let it be on our consoles". That doen't mean they couldn't internally push it. Certainly would be a nice change of pace from Sony's 30FPS30FPS30FPs that we have seen so far regarding their next-gen titles.
I don't think Turn 10 needed Microsoft's push to go 60 fps and 1080p but I get what you're saying.
Unless you're going to point out specific people contradicting themselves, your claim is worthless.
I thought for many Gaffers 1080P@ 60 frames/sec is not possible on Xbox One.
Wow, native 1080p confirmed? Holy fuck. This game might hit me hard in the pocket. New Xbone, new FFB racing wheel (grrr...!) and new TV for the racing cockpit. My current mounted screen is only 720p. I want to see all of those missing pixels, dammit!
I see we have moved onto the 5th step in the Kübler-Ross model?

You mean, like AAA games?how many games in total where 720p@60fps vsynced last gen on 360?
but like, real games, not a tennis game or a live arcade game?
Fuck it - who needs two kidneys anyway?
We should actually discuss ways of motion integration by Runge-Kutta of order 4.
Glorious post by Missile upthere BTW.
I have bookmarked it for every single future discussion about physics and nobody will get out of that discussion alive, I promise you that.
It shall fit perfectly on my other 2 favorite subjects, HID/XID wheel support discussion and Pacejka tyre modelling
Can't wait.
to be realistic here guys, its not a case of xbone being powerful to provide easy 1080p@60vsync for everybody, its more the case of turn 10 being damn good coders!
all their games last gen where full 720p@60fps v-syncd.

I dont know, lets count them all..You mean, like AAA games?
Native.
I was taking the piss from that other guy who said the same thing about AAA games not having 60fps :/I dont know, lets count them all..
ninja gaiden was 60, but not locked, the cod's where vsyncd but many not 720p or rock-steady 60.
then ok, beatemups like DoA/VF/SC, dmc, vtennis and probably some more. still not a whole lot of games.. probably I am forgetting some (like rage, which still not 720p)..
greater point being, this generation I dont see native 1080p/60fps being the norm on consoles. even for ps4, that h/w-wise seems to be in a better condition.
so, forza 5 day 1 is a treat. 8)
Rage really the only one coming to mind 60fps 720p outside a handful of others maybe.
Has anyone mentioned or found out if their will be demo stations up and running this game at E3? Or any Xbox One game?

As far 1080p there were a few, but barely any disc based and I mean full 1080p.
I can only think of Sacred 2 which I played considerably. Though it ran at like 20-25fps at best.
Burnout Paradise, Dante's Inferno, Mortal Kombat, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry 4, Ridge Racer 6 (according to B3D, RR6 demo was 1440x810 with no AA)...
Dark Star One: Broken Alliance was also 1080p. According to B3D, so were Virtua Tennis 3, FIFA Street 3 and NBA Street Homecourt.

Next gen is going to be amazing for racers. I thought the video would show more F5 footage but its more like the history of Turn 10.
"I've learned the Nurburgring. I'm a factory driver and I learned the Nurburgring in Forza to prepare for racing their for 24 hours."
Bwahahahaha poor guy hopes he's ok. They better fix that track they call the Nurburgring this time round.
Screw the ring, time and money would be better blown elsewhere imo.
